1. These filters would automatically be account-wide, not character specific.
2. Player can add any text they like.
3. Player can create as many entries in the filter as they want.
4. On right-click of names in chat window, add another option below "Report Spam" called "Add to Spam Filter", which will add the entire text of that chat message to the filter.
Example:
- I decide to add "Three \/\/" to my spam filter. I will now never see any chat message containing that text.
- Then, I also add "Come on!" as a 2nd entry. I will now never see chat with either string in it.
- Then, I see some spammer message in chat. I right-click their name, and click "Add to Spam Filter", and their entire message text (as-is) is added to the filter list.
Again, these would be account-wide, and players can manage the list through a simple UI, preferably on the Options panel, or perhaps in the same place the Ignore list is. Players can add, edit or delete filters.
Why?
Simple. Most spammers are actually Bots, not people. The message they spam is scripted. Once that message is blocked at the player-level, two things happen.
1. They can't really tell, because their message does go to chat, its just that players don't see it. So they have no idea its blocked.
2. Even if they can find out, it takes MUCH more effort to modify their script and change the message text.

Even easier. Open chat options...remove zone chat entirely.
Open game options....remove name tags.
Now you never see or hear them again, and they still don't know it.
