The Linkletters are the closest I've come to a story in Neverwinter. Be great if they did more of it. Doesn't have to be long, doesn't need special animations. Those two are the only npcs in the entire game they managed to make me care about. Contrast that with something like Lord of The Rings Online, which I only just…
That's basically what Warframe does - or did - haven't played in a few years. Only two ways to get Platinum (their version of Zen) either buy it directly from the company, or trade with other players for it. And their economy was in great shape. They didn't have an auction house though when I was still playing. Trade was a…
I'm not looking for a debate either, just curious. I find the concept of economics fascinating so something like this interests me - even though it's all way over my head. I know one thing for sure, I'm very glad this isn't my responsibility. Whoever has to make these decisions - I wish them lots of luck.
Allowing players to exchange AD for Zen is nice, but I think it was a bad move. An argument could be made that many of the problems in the economy stem from that one decision. I'm reminded again of Warframe's economy. Been a few years since I played, but as I remember, the only way to obtain the money backed currency was…
Pewter Golem? I wonder where it would fall on that spreadsheet - just noticed the other day how rapidly that thing attacks - good one for keeping up the companion specific mount bonuses. Mine's the default rare, so I'm not sure how powerful it is, but it has a chance at knockdowns which is always useful. Blink Dog? A while…
I got more enjoyment playing the economy than I have from any mod. Pretty much since they devalued AD on console, it's felt like a big part of the game is just dead. I'll welcome whatever changes so long as they make sense - so long as they work.
- except in places like SKT. Those weeklies give such a poor return. In campaigns like that one, I'd rather they increased the amount you get from weeklies than lift the limit on the number you can do.
Well, it would go much, much faster if there were no limits to the number of weeklies you could turn in. New players could catch up inside of a week or two.
Did a quick test against a dazed test dummy, and I was seeing more damage with slyblade's discipline - only half as much as advertised, but I only recorded a dozen goes.
I'll do a little test when I play tonight, but I've tried smokebomb with and without slyblade's discipline, and my impression was it did more damage with - that was probably more than a year ago, though. I didn't know about it being broken. It is very frustrating when you're playing a game based on specific rules framed…
I wish there was some concrete information on this around somewhere. It's something I've wondered about for a while now. But I think Dazed counts as Disabled. I've been using the slyblade kobold for a while with my rogue's smokebomb, and it seems to make a difference. My warlock's build revolves around Arms of Hadar for…
By working - I meant, are they really pulling in more money this way - Is encouraging a backlog proving to be a successful strategy. Maybe it is. They are still paying the bills, and they haven't had to spend time and resources designing extra tidbits to get people to pay like so many other games do. If it is working. I…
Giving more players more reasons to buy zen and convert it to AD means more money coming in, doesn't it? A constipated exchange can't be a symptom of good health.
How about actually creating stuff worth buying with AD instead. Skins, effects, cosmetics, useful and unique items and gear, unlocked-boxes, etc; - field's wide open
And let's talk the players behind the classes. Can you imagine the common NW leech playing tabletop? DM: Alright, Dan. You're up. You see you're party's getting swarmed by twigblights and spiders, and one of them has just been engulfed by a shambling mound. What do you do? Dan the leech: Guess I'll do a downtime activity.…
Zone chat serves one function and one function only. It's there for parents too embarrassed to broach "the talk," and other...awkward... conversations with the family teenager. Drop the kid off in PE for an hour, and when you pick the kid up again, there's guaranteed to be a few questions.
Was it Ebon Downs, fires of home, by any chance? Could be you knocked on the wrong door. I think there might be one house that's not like the others -been bad for a while now. I remember having trouble with it over a year ago. Maybe every mod makes it worse. Maybe some day there will be pick up groups in chat - player one:…
Well, thanks everyone. This was helpful. Wasn't sure if I wanted to throw time and money at this one, but it sounds like a pain. Guess I'll pass - only, is there any kind of narrative worth mentioning?
Regarding whether boons are worth chasing or not - Something like a rank 15 Black Ice offers 2880 stat points 1/2 in power, 1/2 divvied between two other stats. The boons give the equivalent of 5 of those rank 15 enchantments, in addition to another 4500 points that can be put into other stats, and a master boon that's…
It's not the leveling system, it's the player. The campaign zones are still populated by players committed to the slow grind. I see them every day - so they are out there. If you're looking for dedicated players, might make sense to look for recruits in the campaign zones - players with ILs just at or below the recommended…
Dust to Dust continues to feel like a bad, arranged marriage, and Infernal Spheres is like being forced into a simultaneous marriage with Dust to Dust's cousin. I actually liked Infernal Spheres before the big change - just wanted the bugs fixed. Now I don't even want to use it all. I'm not complaining about dps. I'm…
Just because a bad idea gets canonized doesn't make it a good idea. That's basically idea laundering. Giffs and the Wish spell are canon too, but that doesn't make them any less stupid.
