This is the Devoted Cleric class from 4E, so it is ranged. I imagine there will be a melee healer at some point in the form of a Druid or Paladin if not another Cleric build. The devs have said they will continue to add classes after launch.
This isn't true. Barbarian, Bard, and Druid weren't available in 4E until Player's Handbook 2. Classes and mechanics are added all the time. D&D doesn't release everything at once--every edition they add supplements and new/old classes and monster. I would much prefer continued support after launch than a tacked on or…
The Foundry lends itself to people who don't want to just RP in a tavern with the characters talking about themselves. If you can get a group together with at least one campaign designer than you try to roleplay similarly to how you would in PnP. You just need to find a group that's willing to rest in between fights or…
If this game was just instances then it would be more akin to an ARPG with social elements like Diablo 3 or Path of Exile. Instead it has a persistent world that the developers can change and where you meet hundreds of people in a zone. That's the difference between a co-op game and an MMO--persistence. Raids have nothing…
I suppose pay to cheat, pay to skip, or pay to lose (out on all the fun--cheesy I know) is better terminology. Frankly, the difference is negligible and even under your definition I still think it's pay to win. Is there an in-game way to instantaneously receive all the XP required to reach max level? No? Then it's not a…
I'll explain then. The majority of the game is level 1-60 and letting people pay to reach it (even if they have already done it before) is letting them potentially ruin the fun for others by taking away the meaning of their time investment. Not only that, but it fills the game with people that don't know how to play their…
-Forgotten Realms setting that has been home to many commercial and homebrew adventures (Drizzt, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc.) -Fast-paced, reactive Action RPG combat focused on positioning and movement -Fully fleshed out character creation system and deep classes as opposed to many classes that aren't balanced…
Selling convenience and cosmetic items for high price isn't pay to win. I don't feel threatened just because some guy has some nice clothes and some scrolls of raise dead to start out. The only way this model works though is to let the developers charge for some things and exploit virtual scarcity. Of all the F2P models…
Will there be a way to report adventures that exploit the system or break the rules? If so, obviously there will be too many for Cryptic to stop all of them, so can the system remove the adventure temporarily after a certain amount of reports until Cryptic takes a look?
The limitation isn't just to enforce experience, but to prevent misuse by goldsellers, spammers, and advertisers as well as other abusers. If those people have to either pay to use the Foundry or get to Level 15 then every time they are banned they have to jump another hurdle which ends up being not worth their energies.…
Didn't see the convenience items when I first looked at the options. Eh, if it's perceived to give an unfair advantage then that's an issue. I got similar rewards from P2P MMOs for being a veteran subscriber or getting a collectors pack. LOTRO gives a similar "starter" pack and those goes a step further and let's people…
The only elements in the pack that give any non-cosmetic benefit are the mounts and the chest with a special rare item. Other than that the items are purely cosmetic. The dev team has made it clear that they will not make a play to win game. Play to win drives away customers and money and it doesn't work as a long term…
I think that the options should be available for both. I prefer grouping whenever able because I think that's the point of an MMO. EQ2 was soloable most of the way through and EQ has become soloable, but I still preferred grouping in both. Vanguard didn't get off the ground mostly due to its lack of polish. That said I…
Did you receive an email confirming your purchase? If so, check the steps in my other post. If not, check to see if you have any charges on your account and contact billing.
The devs have stated that they will continually add classes and races to the game post-launch. I agree that five classes does seem too low and hopefully they will add at least one more between now and launch.
1. Post your issue here: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?31781-Founder-s-Pack-Report-Purchase-Issues-Here! 2. If you mouse over the game tab and then click redeem keys it should have been automagically redeemed when you made the purchase, if not you have a problem. 3. The guardian title should be under User…
Okay, so how does this deal affect you and your decision. Is this any different than buying a game without a demo or paying for a game before it is out. In a way these founder deals are a replacement for pre-ordering. PWE and Cryptic are basically saying: "You don't get to buy the game, but you can get a bunch of cosmetics…
$60 to play on Feb. 8th too. Not $200. Also you can get into the beta without paying, so it's hardly a pay-for beta. If you want to support Cryptic though, this is a way to do it with the added bonus that you are guaranteed to be able to try the game out.
Confirmed to be no large group, long, grindy raiding. End game will be dungeon delves, five-member challenging instances that last about an hour and will provide "phat lootz". Quote from the producer via the FAQ: "Andy Velasquez: Personally I feel like our Dungeon Delves are huge improvement over the overall raiding…
That's too bad :( The game doesn't really work anymore for me either. The 360 emulation makes it slow down whenever there are ranged monsters on screen.
