  • I brought up Vanilla WoW specifically to point out a factually inaccurate statement... which was quoted and specifically referenced by saying "This is a factually inaccurate statement." You specifically claimed that without CC reduces PvP to nothing more than a damage vs. defense equation. I assumed this was hyperbolic as…
  • A good CW will trump a Paladin in terms of advancing towards a win. As others have said, just bounce him off the node. The Paladin can have start using Heroism and Relentless Avenger to minimize time off node, but it won't matter in the long run. Additionally, Heroism usage means no Divine Protector. It'll also be shorter…
  • The problem with making a build to kill a Paladin is there are a variety of builds out there. However, there are a few things that are very important to note. For most builds, survivability scales very poorly with item level. Being BiS for damage adds a tremendous amount of damage. Being BiS for Paladin going survivability…
  • "Every veteran of PvP knows that without CC as a factor, PvP is nothing but a raw clash of defense and damage. Whomever has the bigger guns and thicker skin, who attacks more, wins." This is a factually inaccurate statement. WoW vanilla PvP had a fraction of the CC we see today. You seem to be arguing that PvP takes more…
  • I don't necessarily disagree with this. However, many feat and power selections Paladins make are of questionable utility. I more or less agree. There is a third way to build. You can go survival while focusing on support. There is no real trade-off. You end up with significantly more survivability and much more utility at…
  • Outside of fewer than a handful of games and niche areas, tanking in PvP does not work. We had PvP tanking, at least at release, in Age of Conan, as not attacking the tank meant very bad things- one shots from Bloody Vengeance from Guardians on like a 1 second CD or infinite group resurrections from Conquerors. You sort of…
  • Much of the problem with discussing survivability is the varied builds you will see Paladins running. The OP (OP herein referring to original poster not Oathbound Paladin) here is running a poorly optimized survival build. From the partial information we get from when he shows his character screen, we can tell that he…
  • Your build and gearing look to be suboptimal for survival. Getting killed quickly should not come as a surprise.
  • This is false. You probably have someone targeted.
  • I have tested Shielding Strike, not exhaustively. My testing shows that it is for a flat damage reduction and this amount is not diminished by taking damage. However, the flat damage reduction appeared to be coming before damage resistance was taken into account which drastically reduces its effectiveness against higher…
  • I figured this out tonight. When you are not targeting anyone or an enemy, Cleansing Touch values heal for X to Y. When you target an ally or an NPC, Cleansing Touch values for heals are 2x to 2Y. In other words, you heal others for double the amount you heal yourself. That was a good catch. Edit: You do not gain more…
  • I was exploring some possibilities tonight. It does indeed heal more when used on others and is, in fact, double the amount. You can verify this easily. Make sure you are targeting no one. Mouse over the tooltip, check the values of the heal. Target someone (or an NPC). Mouse over the tooltip, check the values. They are…
  • I've only noticed abnormal heals on other players and as I said I do not know what modifications they would have had to an incoming heal. As to where I see a problem? I have stated it multiple times. Incoming healing bonuses do not appear to factor into the temporary hit points. It is trivially easy to test this. I don't…
  • You did not address anything related to what I have described as the bug. Using your example: 1000 HP * 20% Power Bonus = 1200 heal Crit with Vorpal = 2700 HP healed which becomes 8100 Temporary HP. What I have tested as a bug would be this: 100 HP * 20% Power Bonus = 1200 heal Crit with Vorpal = 2700 HP 20% Incoming…
  • Thanks. I may have not been clear with what I'm calling a bug. I assume heal calculations follow something similar to this: Outgoing heal * Target's Incoming heal modifier = total heal Cleansing Tough only appears to give temporary hit points based on "outgoing heal." A very simple and easy way to test this is by using…
  • Yea... Berserkers compete with Sorcerors for top DPS in Tera. Slayers not so much. I'm sure it does change like people say, but right now, my GWF (level 16) is a total scrub. I have a GF, TR, and DC I've leveled up all around 12. It's shameful the difference between ease of classes at least at this point in time.
