I'm not sure I understand the direction the devs are now taking with the new gear. On one hand, there are several pieces witch together will greatly increase dps as a whole, and I kind of appreciate that they'll be hard to get because they can only be earned through hunting. More variety is good. But at the same time this…
This is great, ty for sharing! I see so many discouraged TRs around here that I was thinking of doing this myself. Some observations:* I like Cloud of Steel very very much. It keeps me hitting (and healing, and gaining stacks) even when I have to get out of the red. * I've never really used ITC, because I like having…
Maybe I'm just feeling like a contrarian today but I disagree, mod 12 is great and there is absolutely nothing wrong with making it ENDgame content. There are many months worth of quests that fill the midgame gap. And as a long-time TR main, in my opinion TRs below 15k shouldn't be in ToNG, unless they get in with friends…
As I've said on reddit, I think it's mostly (still) a matter of perception. Of course an undergeared and inexperienced TR is going to bomb in ToNG, but with some patience and skill a TR can do really well there and at that level most of the other content is trivially easy.
I'm sure it's not as unbalanced in other dungeons and in solo play. The problem is that the devs have currently created a situation where only one dungeon is really worth running. I've actually started to play my alts more because once my weeklies are done, there is nothing left to do once I get my Quartermasters bag…
Just for fun, I've counted those running ToNG right now on PC. 82 players: DC: 30 OP: 16 GWF: 12 GF: 10 CW: 6 HR: 4 SW: 2 TR: 2 I'm pretty proud of having guessed the exact order before even counting them. You can make your own conclusions, but clearly this is not even close to being balanced. There are only 26 dps classes…
I completed a run yesterday with three sub-14k toons: TR, DC, GF. They must have had some trouble initially because they called for help at Orcus: 16k TR (me) and 17k DC. After that it was sooooth and the final boss went down easily the first time. Clearly they were experienced because they were all in primal gear, so…
So I made a decision and yesterday, and I made my own Trans fey. I decided to rework my entire set of offensive enchants at the same time and I'm only halfway done, so I can't really make a final judgment but... so far so good. Mobs were popping out like soap bubbles last night. Can't wait to try this out in ToNG.
> @blur#5900 said: > It depends on your base crit severity and your CA stat but when comparing Unparalleled ranks it ends up at 22%-23% vs 24%-25% in favor of Feytouched. Are you saying that Fey would theoretically be a able to do 1% more damage than Vorpal? Judging by the number of TRs who have made the switch I would…
In fairness, I think we TRs (at least the endgame ones) do very well in ToNG. It's more of a matter of peing picked for groups over a GWF in the first place. I ran a ToNG last night with a SW HB as a second "dps" and can empathise with them, it must be near impossible for them to get seals. I have no idea what their niche…
I think the plan is than these will drop from every new dungeon from now on, so in 6 months you'll likely have 3-4 different options to get these. Anyway the narrative that you have 24 enchants to upgrade with these is wrong. You'd get a better boost for the money from upgrading your 4th companion to legendary than…
Please bring back the Draconic armor pieces for the TR. They are all awesome and the ones I'm missing are being offered for 1.7 to 6M each on the AH. Would it be that much work to code them into the Mantol-Derith store?
Upgrading R13 Brutal enchants to R14 will give you exactly +90 power and +90 crit. That translates to less than 0.1% dps increase and about 0.25 crit%. You can upgrade ten of them and you'll gain 900 power (less than 1% dps) and 900 crit (2.5% crit chance increase). Is this worth 20 uMOPS (2M AD) AND 30 superior stones…
I tried the random queues as well last night and ended getting Throne (I did 85% of the dps, nice because I hadn't done that one in months and got good loot) and MPF (no gold, but 2/3rd of the dps as well). I kinda like helping others as long as they aren't slacking themselves but I'll probably change my mind when I get…
While I had been whining a bit about my lack of success as a TR in ToNG recently, I've now completed four runs in the last week, and two as main DPS. It's perfectly doable and fast, as long as the rest of the party follows the current meta (2xDC, OP, GF). It works well as a secondary DPS too, as long as we get sufficient…
I've endured weeks of frustration in regards to getting in ToNG runs as a TR and finally found the answer last week: It's actually much easier if you're the only DPS there. It's counter-intuitive but having two DPS can't outweigh the loss from habing another buffer, so the "meta" wins. I guess I'll just have to build my…
I'm the one who tested this and I agree, there is absolutely no point to going even above R10s, unless you only play for very short periods. I personnally have 2xR12s always equipped and just add a few R8s from my alts to reach the threshold when opening.
In ToNG, if you're falling from the platform at the same time Ras Nsi "dies" (or shortly after, because I'm fairly sure I'm the one who struck the last blow) you can't get back to the last campfire and collect your loot and seals. I was taken to the beginning of the dungeon and got a hard crash shortly after that.
It was going really fast and considering the only other DPS was down I was a bit desperate and reckless to finish him off, but to my recollection my death was pretty much at the same time as the pop-up saying we won with the top-5 dps and such... perfaps the bug is that if you're falling when the fight is won the game…
Usually when farming trophies on the map I get one per 5-10 minutes. Yesterday I got nothing in 40 minutes. If you do manage to get one you have a 1/5 chance of getting 1/2 of a T2 lure. I've been able to make 2x T2 lures in six weeks with some farmin and got the boots I wanted (yay!), but no T3 lure. So after all that…
Congratz! And meanwhile for a few DPS classes we get about one invite per month... Edit: And five TRs would probably last about 60 seconds during the Orcus fight, nevermind the rest of the dungeon.
I don't know still how normal people manage to get those items. I've spoken to one person about it and she did it by farmig for days with a few BiS friends of hers. That's not realistic for someone with kids and a job. :/ I've suggested improvements to make hunts more viable long-term and a dev actually responded, so I…
I've only done it once, but it's still far less obnoxious than the three bosses in MSP. The main issue with that dungeon (other than those related to class balance) is the lag. Too much gfx? I'll trade beauty for smoothness anyday.
@asterdahl This is actually sort of disapointing. The hunts are are nice break from other activities, even if (as others have said) the T3 lures are wayyyy to expensive to earn in relations to their value. Now that I've completed Chult (except for ToNG, because even 15k TRs are unwanted there), I really have no incentive…
For those who were curious about the QM change, I tested 5x QM R14 and got the same enchants in the same proportion as you'd get by opening the bags at 10.5 or 11%. Two other remarks:* Every enchant on my character was full of RP, meaning that I did not have to feed it to upgrade to R13 and R14. I assume this is only for…
You don't HAVE to spend AD on anything. This is an example but aside from enchants on your companion, someone upgrading his x7 Brutals R12 to R14 on his character would gain 1260 power and 1260 crit. That's like 1-2% of your damage and 3% crit. That's a ridiculous ROI for your investment and inluding Defense and Utilility…
