Dear Angry Adventurers,
Cryptic games did not specifically watch YOUR game and wait until YOU were in the middle of a really important event/boss to crash the servers. This was an unexpected error. If you think they want to ruin YOUR day, YOU are wrong. Cryptic games does not have spyware on YOUR computer and are not watching YOU. Please refrain from bashing the company who brought YOU this wonderful game because their hardware breaking is as much their fault as it is YOURS.
Thats why I love forums while there is a server problem goin on.... fight! why should I watch MMA if we have MMO on our lifes? there is a lot of funny things to read here hahahahahaha

Do some people just rage for the sake of it? Or are they incapable of reading the thread and absorbing the information contained therein? What part of 'external' are they having difficulty with?

You have to learn what a 'discussion' is.
Of course, people are in various states of bewilderment, upset and/or skepticism. There has been NO official word in over 5 hours.
Whenever you have an information vacuum, rumors, tempers and massive amounts of misinformation are bound to accumulate.
This would have been very easy to diffuse, right from the start.
Crash + 15 minutes: Report from PWE, we have checked our system and everything is ok here, now checking external issues.
Crash+ 1hr, Confirmed all our systems are fully functional, awaiting confirmation from our ISP as to net outage...
Of course, people are in various states of bewilderment, upset and/or skepticism. There has been NO official word in over 5 hours.

This once happened to EQ1 and the game was out for an entire night. It turned out to be a Qwest backbone problem a thousand miles away. It happens.
ROFL just ONCE??? I remember daily outage back in the day, don't even get me started there and they were making a cool 20 million a month in subscription fees. Many times back in the day several times a day. And lots of times there would be roll backs from a few minutes to hours or even the previous day. And that was back in the day it was hard to level and took a long long time to level. And all you got was a sorry.
It has and will continue to happen to every online game that ever existed or will exist.
You just *had* to remind me...I had managed to block all that out. My last straw in EQ1 was a 60-man Hate raid that ran over 12 hours. It really bites being the only surviving cleric.

I find people too quickly add words like 'angry' or 'mad' or whatever to ordinary discussions.

Why is it that ANY MMO I have ever played has a "fan base" that demands something for nothing when there are connectivity issues? It happens in every game. I can understand wanting an extra day tacked on to subscriptions but in this case that doesn't apply. Is it annoying? Yes. Does it merit having Bigby's Box of Boiled BS dropped into everyone's inventory? No.
Computers are amazing machines but it seems that people who use them to explore magical realms with them expect them to be magical and never fail.
And to those who say there has been no official word you are looking in the wrong place lol.

The part he misses is that the mods do pop in here every few minutes to let us know that it is external and that they are still working on it.
This seems to be taking a while. Guess I should get more beer. You don't expect me to PVP *sober*, do you?
Trust me this game is hard to play drunk. I tried to play it wasted awhile back and my vision was extremely blury, I couldn't read any of the text on the screen, so I just exited it and lied down for awhile.
