I bought the $60 Guardian Pack, but my character still is not being offered a companion.
I have received the money in the game, so the purchase must have been successful.
How do I retrieve the companion please?
Edit - I still do not have the special Forum Title either.
On the off chance you come back to this thread gefjon, once you get out of the tutorial to Protector's Enclave and speak to Sgt Knox for the first time you should immediately get mail with gift boxes to open containing your pack rewards. You can also go to the vendor just past the guy you visit to get your peasant gear (1st mission Knox gives you) and buy or reclaim (if you throw anything away) your rewards. You'll get a dog collar you can use to bind your dire wolf immediately.
Hi there im new in the game i read alot stuff about companions but cant seem to find anything about mounts are they availeble in game and at what lvl and price? im a mount lover

You get the ability to ride mounts at level 20, Sgt Knox gives you 3 tokens to "rent" a horse for a few hours at a time from the mount vendor in the middle of Protector's Enclave, a full time mount costs several gold for a regular mount, 1 to a character. There are blue and purple mounts that you can get from the Zen store and founder/guardian packs. I don't know about the Zen Store mounts but the mounts from the packs are available to all characters on your account so you'll never actually need to buy another mount if you have any of the packs unless you're going for a certain character look (not everyone looks good on a giant spider). Color determines speed, and you can purchase upgrades to a mount to bump it up to the next rank of speed.

If you buy a zen companion do you get it for each of your characters? Thinking about buying the ghost, but if it's per character then I'll leave my money in my pocket.

All zen store companions are for one character only.

What stat(s) are worth putting on a cleric companion or even the Llilend companion ?
Does power actually increase the healing amount as the tooltip suggests?
Does crit allow the HoTs to crit ?
or does nothing really matter?
Seems that power didn't really do anything to the tooltip of the Llilend's attack so I'm not quite sure what the point of gearing them up or using expensive runes is currently.

If anyone's interested, here is the most updated (that I know of) list of current ingame companions and basic overview, sorted by type: http://neverwinternotes.wordpress.com/2013/07/20/companion-master-list-overview/
All the rune slot types, equip slot types, rank, price and origin are there. No info about usefulness, but you can at least compare them easily in one place and make up your own mind

Galeb Rock guy; got him rank 30 on my cleric. Best 30 bucks Ive spent on an mmo. However, while GF are moaning about how great companions are and taking their jobs; this is false. I cannot control the Galeb well enough to control the fight, this makes him USELESS in big boss fights.
Yes he is useful when soloing. Dummies might say "oh he dont hold aggro!" Actually he does, all you got to do is take two steps away, and NOT hit the thing while he gets aggro. Something you might want to try in groups too if you are dying alot.
Priestess of Kel; Dummies might say she dont heal... Her lifetap buff on my GWF sais otherwise; When I AOE and get crits we are talking thousands of health healed in two swipes. Only thing that can kill me when I roll with her is MASSIVE spike damage from boss, or her getting PROXIMITY aggro that I dont catch.
If you do good dps, she is very useful.
Ghost; least useful zen bought Ive used yet. Will possess lowest level mob in a group, and then die later. Ive tried and tried with her. HAvent figured out how to ; 1. make her possess more than the LOWEST lawn trash, or 2; become more useful than the free cleric.
Cleric; Free at 16. VERY useful solo if you keep the aggro off her. Sad that she is actually more valuable than 90% of the companions you pay money for.
To the makers of NEverwinter; Your validity is falling fast. You keep pushing out USELESS companions for money. Funny part is that you are doing this to the people that actually PAY for this game; and you are alienating them in the process.
Not a sustainable business model. I suggest actually putting work into the companions before just rolling them out there with a bunch of fancy commercialism. You are making stateside gamers think this is just some singapore money grab company.

well actually it is really a simgapore money grab company...most stuff bought has no real impacting usefullness...but on the other hand if you remmber everything including zen can be gotten in game without cash makes it slightly less of a money grabber company...just remember key word is company so its main purpose is to generate money for itself
Is there a way to tell which companions are best for certain classes? I know from reading some guides that the cat is really good for the CW, but didn't know if the majority were good for all classes. Anyone help with this?

Where can I get the icons/etc for a companion. I have tried to attach a few, but I get the red "X" and it says wrong type of item?
Are there special items for a companion? Cleric Disciple is the one I am using.

I used the glory from my main character (a GWF) to buy a Floating Dagger companion for my Alt (a Devoted Cleric).
In my experience, it has not be useless at all. I think it is an incredibly useful pet to use when leveling new characters. I am currently lv 52 and the thing has more HP than I do and hits harder than I do. The fact that you can add GWF Sword Knots means you can add lv 60 purple gear to it 3 times and doing this with glory from my main character was so easy.
Maybe I am missing something but my experience with this seems to be different.
Just wait till you start doing Epic T2 dungeons and you will see all the companions with the exception of the Stone and Cat SUCK!! They all have a laundry list of issues / problems I don't care to rehash again but they need to fix ever single "ZEN" companion in this game or just sell the cat and stone as that is all anyone should be buying at this point anyways

Blink dog sounds much like the Phase Spider... which is btw... a great companion for fighting... one of the best so far. Literally, it phases behind the person you are attacking... then goes off on its own to kill. Mine uses it phasing to minimize its damage (this may not be intended but this is what is happening). It has the a ability to attack multiple baddies... even though it does not really list that as a type of attack. I believe it first attack can hit multiple targets. If you get one of these when you are young (you will need to open a lot of chest to get TBars or have your higher character buy you one off the AH) it will do wonders for you. As a guardian... esp when I was below L20... I would just hold my shield up... and my spider would go around and kill everything. I am in my 30's now... and my spider is L22 and going strong. He does not kill things like he use to... but that is understandable. He does seem to take the aggro off of me for a few why I dispatch baddies. Overall... he is a great companion... but we shall see once we get into higher areas. I suspect like all companions... they will have limited uses other than to get aggro or tie up baddies while you catch your breath or wait for your attack timers.
Speaking of which... the old Mage is a great companion for his ability to blow back the crowd... at any level. That in itself can be a life saver.
BTW... this is one of my new chars... I have four L60 chars already.

The Devastating Smash ability on the wererat thief is also handy for that, though it can be pretty disruptive for less mobile melee characters, particularly in teams.

Dunno whether anyone else bumped into this or not, but maybe it'd worth to mention in the OP section that the Upgrade button is an instant one, without any Confirm or Ok or anything... I managed to mis-click on it
300k AD, easily a Mystic Phoera on AH, and I have instead a lame, upgraded man-at-arms... and of course no rollback or refund either.
So, just carefully with an open companion page, fellas, learn from this ****'s fault and don't throw AD's at PWE for nothing...

In my experience, that's not true. I had to click confirm when upgrading my Ioun stone.
