Hmm I patched the game successfully, and now I'm getting only "Unable to start game client: The operation completed successfully." message when I click Play button. Anyone else getting this, or is there a known fix to this? tyvm
Take your trying to update launcher and shove it. Back to ddo.
For players with a "The patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no response function" error, please download this file and replace your Neverwinter.exe file with this where you installed the game.
Good work on part of the Devs/Forum Mods for keeping is regularly updated during downtime ...wish more did the same.
I've been an AD&D player for 25 years, and have been waiting for a game like this since the Original "Baldur's Gate" from Bioware (1998 seems so long ago).
I'm looking forward to returning to my beloved Neverwinter for more romps and frolics ...as soon as I can log in

While I totally understand the frustration, I feel that I should ask the obvious question...
Have you ever played an MMO at launch before?
Not to mention one that actually has good buzz around it?
No MMORPG in the history of games that has had even a moderate amount of hype has launched without SOME kind of maintenance, bugs, or queues. Also worth noting that this is a "soft launch" or "open beta", meaning they are still using this data to understand server loads. This is all part of the process.
If you don't already understand that, now you do.
No need to be angry or upset when this is all very common.

Be prepared to be horrified beyond consolation at what they have done to Clerics (turned them in to WoW Priests).
