With the coming of Storm King's Thunder to the game in the not too distant future, introduction to the Genasi in the form of the Windsouls would be something possible, but I think it would fit better if the Goliath were released in some sort of connection to this. I actually see the Genasi as being something akin to the Elemental Evil arc more than anything as a race.

Personally; I would want as my top three added new races- Goliath, Warforged and Gnome, but there would have to be special circumstances for the new race showing up. Storm King's Thunder is already a good reason for the Goliath as they are best suited to be Barbarians anyway and are not hampered too much by high snowy mountains, kind of like what you find in Icewind Dale. The Warforged would have to come about with something involving Gond and Kwalish, as well as a new class in the form of the Artificers. Not sure how I would bring Gnomes in though.

    I'd like to see Genasi.

However, I'm not sure which type of Genasi we would get as I can't see four types being released at once.

If I had to choose I wouldn't know which is prefer. Prob earth or fire Genasi.

Gensai races would be ideal for conclusion of Elemental Temple as we "unlocking" via-similar theme to Horizons: The Gifteds of Istaria and choose one of the 4 prime gensai.

Barbarians isnt new, Everquest series had them for years, they are over-sized humans. they could be perfect for shamans and GWFs. we saw a "paladin" in demon storyline.

warforged should stay in Erobon, not part of Forgotten realms. that would be another rpg game.
Gnomes, a bit tricky to redesign the skeletal structures for armors, and weapons would seem over-sized.

current Player handbook already had listed "Shadow folks" as playable race.

    NO WARFORGED!

Just say no to robots in D&D!

I like the idea of introducing gnomes. I would prefer them to be svirfneblin to go along with the theme.

Ive always wanted to see a gnome mechanic. A small toon that builds 'mechs' to play in. Probably hard to make happen in a game like this.

After playing this game for awhile, I just have to play a rage drake...
Dramacus 3.1 SW, Raven 2.9 HR, Aurora Shadowbain 2.7 GF, Mirduatas Vras 2.5 DC
Si Vis Pacem 2.5 DC, Jade Shadowbain 2.4 CW, Para Bellum 1.5 GWF, President Not Sure lvl 69 OP
Faith Shadowbain lvl 69 DC, Toof Fairy lvl 68 GWF, Arnie Shadowbain lvl 63 GF

I already happy with my Tiefling however, I won't mind Genasis.

This is the Forgotten Realms, not Dragonlance. The gnomes aren't mechanics, just fey squatters. I'm opposed to Minotaurs for the same reason - I associate them with Dragonlance, not the Forgotten Realms.

Not that I'd mind a Krynn MMO... actually I'd probably hop ship for it.

I was really hoping for a new race in mod 10 :(

Gnomes better be the next race as they were part of the core D&D races at one point and I really want to create my Gnome Wizard.

I'm torn between Aasimar (which makes perfect sense with there already being Tieflings) and Shifters which I love the most but would only actually want if shifting were an option.

Aasimars definitely. We have Tieflings, we need Aasimars
    Le-Shan: HR level 80 (main)
Born of Black Wind: SW Level 80

I'm old school, so Gnomes will always have a special play in my heart and whims of nostalgia. Hence, my vote was easily for Gnomes.
  • I would love to see Minotaur's as playable, or maybe add some Spelljammer expansion to add some new races from other DnD settings ( Like Dark Sun or Dragon Lance, or Ravensloft), Half Giants, Half Ogres, Demigods and the like

    Where's the Moon Elves race?

    Where's the Moon Elves race?

Sun and Moon Elves are already in the game and have been since August 22nd, 2013. The Sun Elf is the free race added with Fury of the Feywild, while the Moon Elf is the pay version contained in the Knight of the Feywild pack.

It is not on PS4 due to the pack not being available. How about delivering that to us before creating any new races. :)

Going to point this out as a dnd fan...before you add races. Fix the ones you've got first, for one you'd get a lot more people to buy half dragons thus renamed to steal from Elder scrolls Dragonborn...DnD half dragons do NOT look like giant lizards. They look very humanoid with tinted skin in the direction of whatever their dragon half is. So basically human/half elf looking with tinted skin, pointed ears, claws, and perhaps if you took liberties with how much their dragon blood showed through small scales. In NO way do they look like giant lizards though...if you are going to add races if you can't get the racial bonuses correct at least get them correct appearance wise.

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim introduced Dragonborn and it came out in 2011. D&D has had Dragonborn from as early as 2006. So, they didn't steal the idea from ESO.

Also, if you would bother to look at any of the official art for Dragonborn. You will see that their in-game representation is very accurate. Lastly, dragonborn is an official race in both core rule books for both 4th and 5th editions. Half-dragon is not.

  • anarchjackanarchjack Member Posts: 48 Arc User
I actually have a book with the artwork for a HALF DRAGON and no it is not accurate. Secondly, go back to 2nd edition. Just because you mutilate something and change its name...well yea, its still that thing. Don't correct if you can't step past the most recent editions, some of us have been into dnd before Neverwinter was a twinkle in its creators eyes for gaming.

The game, and the license are based on 4th edition and 5th edition. The license holders are not going to allow Cryptic to wander beyond this. After all, they have current books to sell. They will not put anything into this game if it can not also be use to push current books.

So yea, the most recent editions are law here and will not be over ruled by dreams and wishes.
  • anarchjackanarchjack Member Posts: 48 Arc User
That is not a valid argument to my original point so yea bud. Considering players might find the original Half Dragon/Dragonborn more visually appealing, the point is both companies might make more profit with selling that race to be playable. 2 mill rough players ps4 alone, money to be made appealing at least visually.

Games and gaming tech all start with dreams and wishes, license agreements can be changed...so yea. Trolling peoples input to gaming improvements is a foolish waste of time, do find something more constructive.

Arguably, D&D's "first" dragonborn types were Krynn's Draconians.
