... WOTC wants every single licensed DND product to all come out with Tyranny of Dragons at the same time. This is a huge deal for WOTC as it is the official release of the new 5th edition rules, and is a massive tie in with everything related to DND including computer games, board games, and novels.
Pretty much this. WotC said "make it so" and Cryptic doesn't have much choice in the matter but to do this. I'm sure that the unfortunate byproduct is that mod3 got the "release now and patch later" treatment so that mod4 could come out on time as WotC dictated.
Sucks, yeah, but sometimes in the business world these sorts of sacrifices and compromises have to be reached.

Cant wait for more Dragons Bub btw wishlist is monk but if i had a choice for next class Bard is at the top! miss playing one in Evercrack. i somehow messed up that link you sent for release on next class, could you resend or post after lunch break please.
...its not easy... And you will go down the minute you're facing Multiple Deathlocks alone or multiple Bear Riders in conjunction with the Barbarians alone in the HEs.
...Which if you read what I posted you would realize that I already acknowledged as the only 'challenge', yes, soloing content that's not actually solo content. HEs are not intended to be solo content, but some of them can be if you're moderately geared. Since this ISN'T solo content... Yeah, nope, sorry, the actual solo content is not at all challenging.

Yeah, nope, sorry, the actual solo content is not at all challenging.
It is for me. Sure I can manage giants and other elites if I'd wanna waste lots of potions but I don't so I just find alternative ways.
And repeatable daily content is boring anyways so I'd just rather sleep walk through it fast than waste more time with need to focus.
Agree that this is being pushed by the top people, not Cryptic. But no one has said why. Maybe to fend off when WoW releases the next expansion. I think that will be August.
I am in the slow boat getting into IWD, still working along at 10k GS and such. I do not have time to play all my toons in all the campaigns, so 2 month...I will still be behind

Of course people have said why. WotC has a big release and this Neverwinter Mod 4 is just one part of it. If you've missed that, you're not reading the right things.
Its not "marginally" more difficult, it is "much" more difficult... but also incredibly challenging and fun.
I already know that stuff can kill you very quickly. I start soloing them too, but if I make one mistake I'm dead. And yes I am a CW too. And I can tell you now.... I've run Full Perfects and Perfect Vorp on them too...
.... if you're really good you can solo about half of it... but lets not overexaggerate here...
...its not easy... And you will go down the minute you're facing Multiple Deathlocks alone or multiple Bear Riders in conjunction with the Barbarians alone in the HEs.
But that doesn't make it any less of a challenge or exciting.
Because to do this as a CW and succeed... is walking on the razer's edge.
Hello everyone,
I would like to add a small contribution to the topic...
I would say it is A LOT more difficult. My character is a ranger, not really suited to HtH combat - in IWD, unless I am with a tank friend, I get killed a lot.
I have tried PvP (I do not like it much) - the above is even more valid then before. Twice I got in the PvP area and twice I got killed, without even a chance to strike back!!!
PvP is good only if you are in guild or with friends, otherwise......
I know not many of you will be agreeing with me and I mean no disrispect to anyone...

Just understand your capabilities... Hunter can kill quickly in close if you build it for that purpose.
If you want to play from max range then i suggest you aim for max mobility and deflection.

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!
Last time i checked Paladin's was fighting Undead's
There is a paladin in Neverwinter. In Dread Ring central camp. There is an elven girl standing near soldiers she holds shield and....and...AND! a god dang MACE! "Morgenstern" shes got blond hair and kinda golden armor. check her out, she's kinda paladin tipe, i think.
well I have posted a few times in the neverwinter preview bug reports thread that I am not able to connect to it yet.. Is it not playable yet? and if so, I cant post any ingame bug reports in it since I cant log in...
Hoping posting here might get some feedback on this and possibly get some kind of an answer that might help.
I have redownloaded, reinstalled and even run Force verify several times and still get stuck on the cryptic loading screen.. I have let it run on that screen at times for over 30 minutes. the white loading bar has never gotten beyond 10%
and food for thought..
1. If the Paladin isn't the next class.. here's an option:
What i think would be a great idea how to bring the Paladin to the game.. Add it to the GF class as a new paragon.. add Holy powered attacks, LoH, Smite Evil, Turn Undead, etc...
2. If the Paladin will be the new class.. Please Please for the sake of all Dungeons and Dragons.. Put the Holy Avenger into the game as a Weapon (prefer it to be a bastrd sword), not just as some enhancement stone. Even though it's nice, but coming from a many years 2.0 - 3.5 D&D, Forgotten Realms, Spelljammer, Pathfinder 3.75, and many others GM, It's just not the same as the Holy Avenger of Dungeons & Dragons.
a. Don't skimp on the powers of Turn Undead or smite evil..
b. Aura's as the Special Feats (Aura of Good, Aura of Courage)
c. Divine Grace a must.
d. Allow the Holy Avenger to become epic: Holy Devastator
e. and MOST of ALL.. Paladin's Mount!
Allow it to be ridden and also can be summoned as his/her companion.. after all in the PnP it does have special abilities just like the current companions..
The paladin’s mount is superior to a normal mount of its kind and has special powers, as described below. The standard mount for a Medium paladin is a heavy warhorse, and the standard mount for a Small paladin is a warpony. Another kind of mount, such as a riding dog (for a halfling paladin) or a Large shark (for a paladin in an aquatic campaign) may be allowed as well.
A paladin’s mount is treated as a magical beast, not an animal, for the purpose of all effects that depend on its type (though it retains an animal’s HD, base attack bonus, saves, skill points, and feats).
5th-7th +2 +4 +1 6 Empathic link, improved evasion, share spells, share saving throws
8th-10th +4 +6 +2 7 Improved speed
11th-14th +6 +8 +3 8 Command creatures of its kind
15th-20th +8 +10 +4 9 Spell resistance
Had to edit Bastrd.. if i spell it out it gets bleeped
btw. ...we need more maces and flails (horemans, footmans), clubs and hammers (small and great), even axes (orcisch great and double), morningsstars, as real weapons or just skins, and oh, Rod of Lordly Might would make such a fine epic weapon...
..sorry, i digress, but still, why has it always to be a kind of sword?
Think of a TR wilding paired tonfas...
...a Little more variance would sure be nice.
We need firearms back!!! Be damned you WotC, you took them away in 4e!! :P

One of the Elminster missions in the Anniversary event led us to a representative of a group of Paladins who are supposed to assist in the upcoming "Troubles". We had to deliver a message to their representative in a Tavern in Helm's Hold. He was sending two capable squires to deliver Elminster's message back to his leaders at their stronghold.
Paladins are also represented by the "Helmite Paladin Ghost" that is now a companion and the "Reanimated Destrier" Mount.
The Paladin should use any one-handed weapon & shield. They should also be able to used a 2-handed sword. A Paladin and Cavalier have been connected to a degree, and both wear plate armor. This has been classic Paladin attire, since AD&D 2nd Edition. The drawing of the Paladin in Hell has been a favorite of mine, since I learned how to play pen & paper D&D as a child.

If, and/or when the level cap gets raised, it will be 90. In PnP the levels go 1 through 30, right now the game portrays levels 1 through 20. 3 game levels per each PnP level.

I have to look a bit around and decide which talent/skill is worth getting above all...

Solo content is a cakewalk for 2, group content is often too hard for 2-3.
Perhaps scale solo instances based on the number of people in the group - that would go a long ways to make my game experience more enjoyable.
