THe game badly needs at least 4-5 more classes like yesterday we been asking for the last 6 months.
Instead of releasing 1 new class at time they need to do 2 classes at time to try to get caught up.
many players aren't playing and thus spending money in cash shop due to no new classes simply put without them you all are not getting revnue cash into the company.

I totally agree, they need to have 2 classes being worked on at time and coming out at the same time, nothing would be more positive for the game then this.
for the love of god, give me monk, i play monk in ddo, the other D&D game and its awesome
Agree 100% It is a totally different flavor of class than what we have, and has been in every edition of D&D (even 2nd edition in the scarlet brotherhood supplement).
My main will ALWAYS be monk. Waiting to create my main and spend much cash on her.
I noticed in the character creation window that there is a class marked "Coming Soon". Anyone know what class this will be? I hope it is the Swordmage or Paladin.
The devs confirmed a long time ago that they are working on warlock and druid, so it's pretty safe to say one of them are next. It's still not guaranteed, though. What sadly IS guaranteed is that we'll see a ton more threads like this, though. I mean, we only have a few billion of them already, so what's a few billion more? Not to mention when we have five new classes, people will STILL ask what the next class is. Sigh...

What's wrong with threads like this? I'm not going to go surfing through all the old threads to try and get my answer. This is merely a discussion. If you aren't interested in the topic, don't read or respond. I don't waist a large portion of my day surfing forums. I have responsibilities, activities and family to attend to.
Thank you to those that answered. See you in game.

The developers have never at any point confirmed Warlock as the next class , what they did say was that the next class is 50-60% complete and that they would like to start on druid after that but they never said anything about what the next class would be , that is speculation by players who have datamined the client and found Warlock skill's and a paragon path , a class symbol and also the fact that Warlock gear was dropping by accident during closed beta for a while.

Well if they do go with Warlock, I think people are going to be seriously disappointed in them.
For some reason they seem to think the Warlock is some kind of class that throws around high powered spells that damage things....
They aren't, and never have been. That class would be the Wizard or Sorcerer. Those are the powerhouse spellcasters, not Warlock. And being that the CW is achieving all of its goals as an AoE nuke specialist, I'm not so sure what people think they'd get out of a Warlock.
Perhaps its an "image" thing. But in D&D the Warlock is actually pretty subpar as a damager.

Welp, if they're even still working on the Scourge Warlock then it's got a lot of issues or design delays of some sort (probably tried to make the powers too fancy and they're mostly all trash, like the HR). They're working on Mod 4 now and theres still no word on whether a new class will be included. We will know within a month or so since the release date is in August.
If Warlock doesn't show for Mod 4, I will begin to question it's release, ever.
i admit I know nothing about game programming or whatever. but only getting 1 new class in a year seems kind of messed up. I looked at the D&D 4th edition playable class list, and there is at least 15 classes not available in game. Devs please give the players what they want. New endgame mods are great, but more classes would be better. more classes to play=more money game makes. seems like a no brainer, so what's the hold up?
To be fair, the biggest criticism of one of their other games, Champions Online, is that they have invested just so much in the huge, near ENDLESS, variety of possible characters, they have let the rest of the game go stagnant, and PvP die almost completely. They actually seem to be using some of the lessons there when making decisions here. Unfortunately, they seem to be over reacting. Average the two out (or better yet add the two together) and you would get something close to ideal. Can't you just imagine that? The best Character Creator in MMO history, coupled with the Gameplay and scope of Neverwinter...........
Add in the story-telling power and writing of The Secret World and the biggest problem would be getting people to stop playing long enough to eat.

Sounds like someone never designed an adequate warlock. Properly tweaked, a 4.0 warlock can stand toe-to-toe with any striker. Oh, and warlocks were never AoE spellcasters...they focus on one target.

This. Warlocks are single target, and if I remember right use curses or something, for minor debuffing.

It's hard to imagine a new class coming out given the way things currently are. A few of the "old" class paragon paths/builds badly need reworking/tweaking (non pro-player Thaum CW damage in general - if all specs of a primary controller/secondary striker class is supposed to do this much damage then one can only imagine how much damage a primary striker/secondary controller class is supposed to be able to do, Oppressor - Entangling Force nerf more or less killed Alacrity synergy + capstone power now nowhere near as useful as other paths, non-perma TRs need more support, GFs in general need to be rewarded better for actually doing their job, DoT skills not affected by Armor Penetration, many enchants still not working, etc etc) and the newest class is both underperforming in PvE and too powerful in many PvP situations (good repositioning powers, check; fast stamina gain, check; massive mitigation, check; high defense/deflect/regen, check; multiple daze/root/snare effects rivaling a CW's, check; cloak/invisbility, check; able to damage opponent while running around, check... gods, what the hell were you people thinking).
Let's not even bother with the obviously broken FotM builds.
Still, it would be nice if we finally get a new class. Many of us are still waiting for the classes we actually want to play, and apparently until the warlock and druid go live we still have a long wait ahead of us.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

F2P games (and even subscription ones) need to dish out content fast. That's probably the main problem of modern MMOs. Players burn through content and demand new things. There's hardly time to fix the old content.
But creating more content without fixing the previous one leads to the game being more and more unplayable (new content, with new bugs, is built on already broken stuff, and fixing an old item starts having unintended consequences in cascade), to a point where most part of the community grows restless and migrate en masse to a new game, that makes promises it can't deliver, just like all other MMOs.
It's a game of balance, and only if devs care about old content as much as they do with the new stuff, a game can be successful.

Because this is working out so well for rogues in this game?

The Devs. have long since posted the next Race/Class here:

Same here
I do hope there will be a new race as well in mod 4... perhaps a dragonborn being the next mod is based on dragons
Add in the story-telling power and writing of The Secret World and the biggest problem would be getting people to stop playing long enough to eat.

Add monk to that list and you are spot on.

My guess is that curse will be a tab ability and encounter powers will consume curses for additional effects.
