    Sounds like a bug.

Also Rain of Arrows seems to have had a further speed up from Preview making it a more useful power.

5 HRs also cleared CT just fine as expected.

I am thinking thats why forest ghost is limited to just 1 hit per target each new neerby enemy triggers the effect witch in tern triggers storm step

Any suggestions on first artifacts for HR, especially an Archer oriented one?

I used the storekeepr and the cleric in a bottle on preview.

The cleric in a bottle has the more useful stat bonus for a HR of those two, but in reality I found the shopkeeper to be more useful. Which is why I'll stick with the storekeeper for all my toons for the freebie.

Voltomey has recomendations back on the first page that are likely a lot more useful.
    Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin
    Obsidian Oath - Warlock
A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.

    I have a question,
The following the guide I would want to build my dwarf 15-15-15.

With the campfire buff the OP's preferred choices for race would have 25 Dex vs 20 for the dwarf.

Just how much damage is lost with those 5 points?

I like short races but at the same time I don't want to make a gimpy HR.

Actually I think I found my answer, Wiki says every point in dex over 10 gives 1% crit. So I lose 5% crit as a dwarf.
Hmm, 5% don't seem like that big a deal. Could maybe make up for it wit gear choices.

I thought that FOR RANGERS we had DEX give +damage bonus and WIS give +cit, while STR gives Arp?

You might be right. The wiki didn't specifically mention Rangers, it may be out dated info.

I just started playing and am wondering how significant the race choice acually is?
People in game have said play whatever you like but this guide seems to make it out to be a big deal, or is it just a big deal for those who need to squeeze out every 1%?
Am i going to noice beeing a tiefling ranger that dosen't even bother with CHA when up against a more optomized elf?

Unless you are a top rank PvP player, racial choices don't make that much difference. In fact for PvE, I think the largest possible difference is around 5% damage (Half-Orc Wizard against Tiefling Wizard).

For Rangers though,,most races have something going for them and the +2.5% damage boost form the Tielflings racial (assuming it is not bugged) is very nice for any class.

I just got a sick bow from a box, the Ancient Mulhorand Longbow ( Epic that grows with your level ), and it has a Weapon Enhancement Slot, which begs the question, what should I put in there. I was told that at 60 this bow will basically be just like the Tier 1 bow, so I figure a decent weapon enchant would be cool. I am newish to the game and have had no experience with Weapon Enhancements themselves ( normal slots I am used to ). Any tips would be appreciated!

IMHO The best Races for DPS/Balanced Builds being focused in dex/wis/Str Go to Half-Orc/Drow/Human/ and Wood Elf. Try and roll 18dex 15wis and 15str imho that's a very strong roll with campfire you can hit 18str/wis 22wis/str and 25dex. Its also flexible enough to let you wander off Into Int Or Cha for more exotic builds with campfire you can get a 18 in Wis & Str with 18 into Int Or Cha and still have 25 dex.
Why do you recommend rolling starting stats of 18/15/15 and not 20/15/13 for example? I realize that the first option gives more stats overall (cha/int/const) but what else is the argument besides that? Total newbie here.

That roll is kinda a one trick poney roll all you get is 1% more deflection and 2% more dmg for the its not a bad thing for you to roll though by any means. All the roll's is this guide are my opinions and recommendations roll what you feel comfortable with.

    Half-Orc/Drow/Wood Elf
Roll 18 dex 15 wis 15 str at 60 it will have 24 Dex 21 Wis AND 17 Str with campfire buff it will have 25 dex 22 wis 18 str.
How did you count the stats at level 60? This wiki page here says that you get a total of 10 additional statistics to spend for leveling up, 8 out of which you can choose where to assign to.

Thus I don't understand how can you end up with 24/21/17 starting from 18/15/15, as that is a total of 12 stat points difference (?).

And lastly, I assume the highest amount of points one can have per stat is 24 and not 25, which is only obtainable via campfire, correct?

You get campfire buffs that give 1 to every thing also Half-Orc/Drow/Wood Elf get a automatic 2 in dex Half Orc on top of 2 in dex can get 2 more points in STR Same with wood Elf and Drow But ther 2 points go to Wis. Add 2 to 16 thats 18 Dex 2 to 13 wis or str and the other stat will be auto 15 thats 18dex 15wis 15str

ADD 6 to dex and wisdom 2 to str then add in the 1 from campfire buff to all of them

As far as my math goes, if I start with 20dex/15wis/13str, then at level 60, assuming 24 is the most you can have per stat, I would have 24dex/21wis/13str. With campfire buff, that would be 25dex/22wis/14str or am I counting it wrong?
    voltomey wrote: »

That is a total of 14 manually-allocated points, but the wiki page says:
    Advancement
At levels 10, 20, 40 and 50, characters gain 2 points to add to their ability scores. At levels 30 and 60, all of a character's attributes are increased by 1.
    Which would amount to +2 (lvl10), +2(lvl20), +2(lvl40), +2(lvl50), +1(lvl30) and +1(lvl60), which equals 10 and not 14 as you suggest (6 to dex, 6 to wis, 2 to str = 14)

Yes you are your not adding in the racials i think i will REdo that entire section of the guide to make it more clear i think it's not new player friendly if i leave it as is.

If you have 20 dex 15 Wis or Str from the start Putting every thing in wis and Dex will give you 26Dex 21Wis and 15Str with campfire thats 27dex 22Wis and 16Str

Needs Review: RANGERS GAUNTLET Here's a quest built with ranged players in mind. Action oriented. You are to defend 2 gates from several waves of attackers. There are NPC defenders to help stave off the attacks. Fun short and sweet. Some surprises await. Use the terrain and the NPCs to your advantage in order to win. Good solo or in a group.

Ahh I think I get it now, totally forgot about the 2x +2 starting points to two stats of your choice; along with the points received from leveling up, that does amount up to 14.

    Thanks!

Can you confirm if 24 is the highest default (not buffed by campfire) stat one can have?

Also, if we start with 18/15/15 and add 6 points into dex to get it up to 24 as soon as possible, then what happens at 60, when we receive +1 to all stats:

    - are they 'wasted' if you already have a stat of 24?
    - are they automatically allocated elsewhere?

This is quite important because if the stat is wasted, then one should add only up to 22 in the best stat and allocating the remaining points elsewhere (?).
