3 days and no official response is disturbing,
To all the people arguing- stop, just wait what they say and if there's no response anytime soon then it is fair to assume this was intentional... and I guess all the consequences that will come with it.
To all the people arguing in favour of the "change"
wards(and yes, also the green wards because nobody uses coals to fuse r7-8 atm so we still need green wards) will only be obtainable through Tarm market(keys>>zen market>>monies) or zen market(read monies) so the only source of the wards will be money, scaring off a lot of potential new players when they must compete with better geared veterans, means that no new people will play unless they can invest a lot(too much) of finance into to the game. A lot of casual will also quit... if that happens then who will you play with? p-2-ws? or decked out r9-10s perfects? whats their share of population? 10-20% at most? what will happen to AH? what will happen to pvp? dungeons? the devs don't roll out expansion cause they love you but to make more revenue, which comes from casuals/new players who decide to pay for certain features of the game. So no, you cannot survive without casuals or new players.
That being said it is most likely a glitch and will be fixed soon or maybe they will remove wards from the game altogether.
All things that have impact on ingame balance should be also obtainable without spending real money or using "ingame money->real money" currency exchange. They are enchantments and everything connected with 'em, mounts and upgrades, companions and upgrades, gear. If they remove the coffer, it'll be just another pay to win cash sink.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz
The only thing I can think of is they were trying to put in a 6th day option ajd the 7th got lost to bad coding at least i hope thqts tje case if jot this is a steaming pile of manure

I'm waiting on an official statement (come on guys, you have a borderline hysterical player base to deal with here), but what indicates to me that this is not an intended change is that it makes absolutely no sense to introduce something useful only in Module 1 while they are in the process of launching Module 2.
Which doesn't mean that they aren't tweaking the coffer, but I seriously doubt they're replacing it with that particular box. Because that would be really dumb.
My guess is that the coffer is being altered - possibly to add marks/chance at marks to the loot table for it - and nobody can make an official statement about it right now because it's not finalized or they're simply not allowed (kinda like the launch date everyone's panting for).
May be they just messed up IDs of those coffers. But anyway, they've got A LOT of feedback about game economics, alts, invoking etc. XD
Yeah, don't think so. If it was something simple they could have just told us already. The longer they wait, the more this seems like something intentional. And the bigger it feels.
The coffer is likely a placeholder. No arguing with that. But if it was something easy like them adding a 6 day reward or putting a chance to get reagents into the 7 day reward... then they probably would have told us already. Again the longer they wait, the more this seems like a big change they don't want to (or can't) tell us about.
there is no need to jump to conclusions here... as it's been stated before, this is the preview shard and everything you see on it is subject to change. it is not the live server. even if this was some indication that they intend to change the coffer of augmentation, no official statement has been made and everything you have in conjecture. getting emotional and saying you're going to quit if this happens is really kind of pointless. you can't even assume that because they haven't responded, it doesn't look good... it's still speculation and assumption.
you can't even assume that because they haven't responded, it doesn't look good... it's still speculation and assumption.
I didn't say that exactly. I said the longer they wait the more the more this looks an intentional and big change.
Again, come on. Seriously. If it was a simple mistake. They'd let us know with an "Oh, yeah. We were messing with some other stuff and that got changed." But that isn't happening. The only other reason I can think of for them not to tell us would be to see our feedback first. And the idea of them leaving us hanging to see the response is pretty silly.
Look, I don't think anyone is actually going into a panic. And I am certainly not threatening to quit. I know some are, but I like this game to much for that. But they know this is upsetting their customers. And I'm sure as a company, they don't want to do that unless they have to.
Just like they replied to the rest of the massive nerfs/rework/changes when the community was in an uproar. When it deals with $$ they stay tight lipped.
I think no. and i think seriously its a good thing. i explain:
now we must use 85 * 100k coal ward.
after we use 15 coal ward, and because of that, coal ward will cost nothing ( less 50k) , less demand = price down.
SO coal ward MUST be more expensive.
You want perfect enchantment at 500k AD? where is the challenge to gain it?
Sorry for my poor English
I'm not bothering to argue over the economy aspect of this anymore. I disagree and will leave it at that. However, the post you quoted was saying that at this point it likely wasn't a simple mistake.
after we use 15 coal ward, and because of that, coal ward will cost nothing ( less 50k) , less demand = price down.
So where does the much lower supply part come into your equation ? if you seriously think that coal wards will drop in price you are delusional , they will skyrocket in price due to a massive drop in supply unless of course their zen price is slashed.
So where does the much lower supply part come into your equation ? if you seriously think that coal wards will drop in price you are delusional , they will skyrocket in price due to a massive drop in supply unless of course their zen price is slashed.
I would say that if Coffer of Wondrous Augmentation will give coal ward like now , price will decrease. If coal ward cant be obtain like this , price will grow fastly
I cant wait until they put coal wards in the AD store for sale.
That way u guys have nothing to go on. No more pay to win bs (which in reality isn't even the issue at hand, its just the one you guys want to make it out to be since you guys have nothing)
Two extremely weak arguments
1) value - lost AD from invoking AD will be lost regardless. Too much supply will drive down your multiple character invoking business to 1/4th the original amount. The devs have the right to change it so that literally the best items in the game to get (perfect enchants) are not simply handed it. If the supply going into the next module remained unchanged, the game would be ruined
2) Every coal ward derives from Zen And? What's the point here? It doesn't bind so what's the argument? You are free to buy as many as you would like in the AH and not pay any money. This argument holds no weight AT ALL. You didn't get your perfect enchant from invoking... you got it from the AH, like everyone else.
You guys want to make an argument on principle, but your principle is flawed. Let them put it in the store for AD, just so u can no longer say "they all derive from zen" But it will be the same thing as before, you will all get them from the AH...like always
As for the ppl who have 50 accounts. Who cares about them. seriously
trying to block important must have changes because the 0.0005% of ppl who buy 20+ char slots is just idiotic.
They have the right to make changes to make the game better. Perfect enchants for all impacts EVERYONE in a negative way.
The only way the multiple char slot ppl have any argument is if the devs charged you money for slots and then said you can only use 5 chars.
As it stands, your character slots are fully functional and you get what was promised... to play a charcter. The fact that you purchased char slots for the intention to get extra wards is completely irrelevant and literally holds no weight. Is by far the worst argument of them all
And? What's the point here? It doesn't bind so what's the argument? You are free to buy as many as you would like in the AH and not pay any money. This argument holds no weight AT ALL.
Actually, it does. Since they can only be bought in the Zen store, SOMEONE has to buy the Zen to put it in the AH. In other words, to get your perfect enchants, someone has to whip out the wallet for you regardless. Right now, no one has to (and I highly doubt anyone does) buy any from the Zen store to put it in the AH since it can be obtained elsewhere.
I know that some here will caution getting upset, but I just stepped into test, and this seems like it's getting crisp and clean and about to head out the door.
This change seems intentional, and while things sometimes do enter test before they are intended, this is one of those things we have to express our extreme disappointment with.
This is a financial move for the company, no more, no less. Coal wards are a powerful staple of end-game capability, absolutely necessary to make all your hard work actually come to fruition with their incredibly poor random loss rates. This was supposed to be a steady source of income for the company at $10 a pop, but because players aren't stupid enough to pay that rate, we paid $5.00 for two new characters instead, increasing our chances of getting coal wards for free by two each week.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that our poor moderator pushed his question up the chain, got a very crappy response from those higher up, and doesn't want to be the bearer of bad news. This is a bad change for the players, and in the end for the company, but money is money. If I was our poor community moderator, I'd feed us some blarney about how 'answers are coming', and then skip the topic altogether until this hits live, because it's above his head and he really shouldn't take the hate for it.
This is worth being frustrated and 'up in arms' over. Now is our only real chance to force the issue, because once it goes live, there will be no turning back without the company loosing face.

Agreed. Anyone above moderator status seems to be avoiding the issue. Even the Community Manager.
I mean I just saw a CM tell people NOT to post to the thread that the Devs are aware of the issue and would be responding soon. Right after he said that was the case. The way they are handling this whole thing makes no sense. Unless its going to be even more toxic than we expect.
And yes, for the record. Now I -am- assuming the worst.

That was me. And I asked them if I could copy and paste that information in here. They declined and I respected that decision. Thanks for doing the same -facepalm-. I trust their judgement as there was a reason why they didn't want that information out there and now I feel like an *** for asking them in a public forum instead of a PM. Thanks = /. I'll be sure to keep big questions on that side of the fence from now on >_>.
Anyway, a response is in the works (no I don't know what it is), just as I and many others had been surmising. So sit back, folks, and chill. And lobo0084, I HIGHLY doubt that the Devs would give a message to a volunteer forum moderator to deliver at all, least be on a subject as touchy as this.

Agreed, completely. A crappy response could very well be 'No comment'.
Just as condemning. As any reporter.

It could be an accident. Maybe they were adding the new reagents to the store and goofed somehow. Or maybe they are putting in a new way to get wards. If so they should have told us before letting us find it this way, but whatever.
Trust me. I have as much reason to rage as anyone if this is what it looks like. I'm up to 34 character slots. I have that many for 2 reasons. Leadership for AD & Invoking for Wards. But its a little early to be calling for blood. Its not on live yet. Heck, we don't even know if its intentional.
In the mean time I'm going to post my feedback to it over in the preview section. I suggest everyone else do the same.
(BTW, to any developers... If this is intended. And if you adding new ways to get the wards, having them as a possible Foundry reward would be awesome.)
mod note: we completely understand that this is a sensitive topic, but that does not give anyone the right to stray from the forum rules of conduct. no amount of time or money gives anyone any right to be disrespectful to anyone... at least not here.
please continue to keep in mind that anything you see on the preview shard is subject to change.

it is your assumption that the community manager you are referring to actually has any information pertaining to this topic. the moderators have already been told what Som stated in the live stream. this isn't a conspiracy... as a matter of fact, nothing has changed here. the devs are aware of this thread and that's all we know. the contents of the preview shard is still subject to change before it goes live. no official announcement has been made concerning this change. there's really no point in wasting energy getting into a major discussion over something that could just be a mistake. at least wait until there's something official to get upset about before you get upset.

I never said it was a conspiracy. Instead I'm implying they don't want to touch the subject with a 10 foot pole. I called it toxic.
My post was about the fact that he was telling people NOT to confirm what you just said. That the devs are aware and would reply soon. We've had two business days go buy without a response. And a CM telling people not to post info in the thread. I don't know what you know. But as a player, that kind of stuff is very frustrating.

Working coal wards completely out of the game would be ok. Leaving them in, and having Zen be the only source of them would not be ok. (My opinion.)
