Ah, I was comparing Tera to Neverwinter. Compared to Neverwinter it is a hell of alot better. Not played Aion yet.
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Learn the disadvantages of you class to overcome them. Learn the advantages of your class and the disadvatages of other classes to use them in pvp to win.

There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)

In the case of CWs killing from above, that's the weakness to TRs since the other classes can knock them off with their skills or take a much longer time to get killed than the TRs. Under normal gameplays, TRs come out of the shadows and stab the CWs to death and CWs laughing at TRs from up high like they are chickens with their heads cut off are the balance of this game. Each class has some advantages over skills and terrains, if everything is being used as intended.

if they play above circles instead of on it`s usualy their own loss, so no laughs if they care about the win ;p
but if they have enough ad etc. then yes. they maybe can laugh.

Neverwinter is better than Aion, but Aion has open world pvp and 50 vs 50 premade, is alot of fun xD

The battleground in Tera with the keep, turrets, and tanks is much funner in my opinion than the horse racing in Neverwinter. The open world 1vs1 dueling is better in my opinion. To each their own.

One advantage is the TR being able to get up there and kill the CW. Lurker's Assault now does teleport also. It is only fair that the TR is able to get to a CW trying to attack them from above.

Rogues are cool, i'm gonna roll one once i got more time to spare. And his name shall be... Kendo, since my gwf's name is Kendra, rofl. My CW's name is Draken and yeah, i do like dragons and swords and melee.

    Yeah, i'm drunk.

ON topic, TR are cool as they are. I've never been hit for 50% of my hp by just them knives in lvl 60 pvp, in fact i could take 4 tr with perfect everything and would not die from their knives, all at once. But yeah i do blame other influences for that xD

This deserves a "don't try this at home" disclaimer for any CWs who don't know how Shield works, because any intelligent TR will lob a dagger at you or wait for someone else to sneeze on you and diminish your shield before unloading a LB. This is one of the reasons you don't see Shield used often by highly geared CWs.

That being said, I don't want to pooh-pooh anyone else's playstyle. I'm open minded enough to accept that Shield might have some amazing use I'm unaware of, but if so, I haven't found it.

*Sorry, slight derailing from TR land into CW land*

Edit: I've created a post in the Library discussing the possible advantages of running Shield on Mastery. Since this is not in relation to the OP, I've added the link here. Thanks!

About the counter-counter in each class match-up. I still have to find one in a GWF-TR matchup.

GWF-CW: they can cc, you can go unstoppable. They can teleport, you can sprint and try to fool them to make them waste teleports. Same goes for the opposite: GWF can hit hard, you can cc him/push him. If he reaches you, you've to try and make him waste his encounters with your teleports, then cc again.

CW-TR: as you guys said above

GF-CW: CW can cc you and teleport, you can chain prone him

GF-TR: TR can DPS, dodge immune, go ITC invulnerable, smoke screen, perma stealth. You can block if you see it, or eat damage a lot, and if you see them, you have the fast charge and chain prone them.

GWF-TR: he can range attack from stealth. You can block, or AoE ranged attacks to get him like a CW. You go unstoppable, he just have to move away and wait, since you can't attack from distance. He can go ITC invulnerable if you reach him, you can move away but he will range attack you... You reach him again, he drops smoke screen. He can go perma stealth, you can...tank, run around, try to "figure out" where he is and roar...all vague. Your attacks have sloooooow animations. He can dodge immune 3 times. As a counter you can................................................................. only clear suggestion i got so far is: go sentinel full regen/37k+ hp and deflect. And tank. Eat damage, wait from team mates. Our counter is to go ful ltank and eat damage. Obviously a good TR will eventually cut through even a sentinel regen/hp, with the high damage encounters/ranged attacks exc... But you can tank a lot and he may give up and go to a easier target, or your team mates can catch up and kill him.

So, unless someone comes up with a clear counter that a GWF can use on a TR stealth+ITC+dodge roll immunity+smoke screen+high DPS, i just assume that there's no real counter in this matchup. You're slower, can't really counter his stealth in a clear way, can't really counter his ITC. You can "fool" him and make him waste the dodge rolls like with CW teleports. But considering all the other options he still has, i don't see it as a overall fair matchup.
At least on a 1v1 view point. In a brawl, you can sprint to him and prone him, but the brawl law applies to all classes.

To me, it's simply that not every class has a counter for another class. Not like there's a 50-50 chance to kill and get killed. If you can find a clear counter for a GWF vs TR, i'll be happy. So far, no one could.
More likely, you've to think about the overall 5v5 situation and adapt to a strategy that minimize your weakness and maximize your strenghts.
For a GWF, fighting a rogue 1v1 is not a good idea. He has stealth, more damage, more mobility, more defensive options (stealth/dodge/ITC/smoke against unstoppable) and ranged attack.
For a CW, going around alone with a TR stealthed around, is not a good idea.
For a TR it's probably a bad idea to face a GF unstealthed or jump into a brawl of GFs/GWFs (but usually they can ITC and dodge roll away before they die).

It must be 5v5 balance. That's the only way to see a balance in PvP, to me.

I kill TRs as a GWF only if I land critical Takedown -> critical IBS -> critical Flourish and there's no deflect from TR's side.

I concur. I have been on the receiving end of high geared GWF's using this and catching me off guard. Pretty much sit there frantically tapping my dodge button to no avail then dead. =)

Shocking Execution in my particular build, is generally the only way I can kill a skilled, well geared Sent GWF in a 1 vs 1 fight. Its cheap as hell, and not very often any GWF survives mine when below 50% health.

On the flip side, I play with a lot of latency, so GWF's are generally one up on me anyway and I tend to get nailed even when I dodge. So I figure were even =P

There are gameplay video's posted every other day. Granted there isn't like "beginners guide to fighting a TR" that goes into detail about every little thing, but you can glean that knowledge from gameplay video's if you have an understanding of all the classes and their skills.

I personally don't like gameplay video's from the very high tier players, it gives away what little unique build information we have to the masses. More TR's with no HP stacking defense pls! =P

Another Newbie that has no idea about balance, come do an in-house this Saturday on the PTR and we see how op your impact is when it hits equally geared and correctly specked players, you are asking for a nerf based upon your experience fighting bots, under geared players and wot not.

most people refuse to listen even when they are simply bad.

I try helping people in pug PVP but people either don't speak english or they just don't listen.

Teammate: omg their team so strong

All I see is teammate camp at 1 when it is already capped and no one around, DC that pop AS on the ground where nowhere near the point nor any teammate, TR that goes in for a kill despite it is 1V3, CW that use icy terrain, sudden storm in PVP, etc....
How can I help them? I think I need help to help me help those player out there :(

Perhaps I should have put should in bold, it was mean as encouragement, I assume that's what you mean by me being lazy, or you don't understand *Glove slap* very well and when you get into 60 PvP I'd love to know your master strategy to avoid Impact shot spam as a CW.

And no Spell Mastery slot shield is not an acceptable answer, duncing your group value is not a valid option to deal with another player simply pressing 1 button over and over with an ability that obviously doesn't function correctly. Not to me at least.

You resort to name calling like a child. Though I don't really expect much from the community of this game or any other f2p garbage.

You call me and others complaining about Impact shot lazy because we cannot find a non exsistant way around a 4 chain movement quirking stun lock 1 button spam? Keep showing your real experience with the game; It's comical.

Lets see saying someone is being lazy is not name calling. It basically says the individual is not willing to work hard to achieve a goal. I apologize if you thought the use of the word "lazy" was the action of calling you a name when it was not. Calling someone a child is name calling so calling me a child when accusing me of name calling is hypocritical. I have included the definition of the word lazy. Looking at the definition of "lazy" it seems very appropriate because you are just now responding to a post that was done 4 days ago and 11 pages from this one. It is very comical that you even responded. Btw hypocritical is not a name either in case you thought it was one.

    lazy
    adjective
    1. averse or disinclined to work, activity, or exertion; indolent.
    2. causing idleness or indolence: a hot, lazy afternoon.
    3. slow-moving; sluggish: a lazy stream.

I have included the definition of should because it shows I was correct in pointing out you were wrong by using it. It is obvious that I must already have a CW to work on it. I can not work on a CW unless I already rolled one.

    should
    [shood] Show IPA
    auxiliary verb
    1.simple past tense of shall.
2.(used to express condition): Were he to arrive, I should be pleased.
3.must; ought (used to indicate duty, propriety, or expediency): You should not do that.
4.would (used to make a statement less direct or blunt): I should think you would apologize.

I will not bother responding to anymore of your post because it was handled in the guides and in the other posts in this thread. You probably skipped over them or ignored them. I will not bother wasting more time responding to anymore of your posts since you clearly only want to attack instead of making any effort to learn. Keep in mind it is your fault you die so quickly to Impact Shot and not the TR's fault. You could simply teleport out of range and keep moving since only the first Impact Shot done in stealth has stun. Please put some effort into learning how to deal with TRs and Impact Shot instead of running to the forums. Have a nice day.:D
