The reality is that thee will be mass character and account bans once the exploits are patched. That is Cryptics normal procedure. They just collect data on who uses an exploit while it is open and then ban everyone who used it.

It's really easy to find the exploiters, if they even tried.

Ex. Player with an item log of more than 1000 Dragon eggs.

Still better than Diablo 3. Massive gold dupes. Only take some of the gold away. They are doing fine with the resources they have. Blizzard can't even keep their games fixed.

This game is far from fixed lol.

Finding them isn't the problem. Cryptic typically doesn't ban for exploiting until the exploit is fixed.

I don't think they see it that way at all since they have already started double AD events, which inject even more AD into the economy. Some statistician probably figured that low value of AD results in higher zen sales, and it does make sense, it keeps the auction house expensive and zen an easy way to get rich.

Double AD doesn't inject more AD, you can still only refine 24k daily. You only get double unrefined AD.

No no what I said is that once they fix the exploit they will ban anyone and everyone who used the exploit.

Kindly explain what has gone wrong that would warrant a reset/wipe? Be specific. Seriously, give specific verifiable examples. You're not the first to bring this up. But as of yet, nobody has demonstrated or evidenced a concrete reason.

This is true, until the exploit directly hits their bottom line like the recent Foundry exploit in STO (Although this did involve massive Dilithium and Dilithium Ore wipes and missions being culled both from the foundry lists and peoples mission logs). Typically speaking though, banning accounts before the exploit is fixed in an F2P game just results in them making another account and exploiting with that.

But seriously, if you're thinking of exploiting don't, Cryptic knows and has logs of everything you do ingame, you will be caught and you will be punished, don't do it.

They have a lot to fix then. Egg farming is the least of our problems. There's stat stacking for epics farming. There's exploits to farm epics without stat stacking. Then there's all the players who farmed the foundry that still ain't banned. The list keeps growing and growing.. They won't ban them, they will leave the economy screwed because they don't care.. They still haven't fixed most of the bugs or exploits that's been known for quite a while now.. It's so sad because this game is soo good if you look past all these issues, really it could become something great, they just need to do something, and fast before people start leaving.

It does because during a double AD event everyone does their dailies and maxes out while normally they don't. And why would they run one at all if they thought there was too much AD in the economy? Doesn't make sense.

    +1

Game has a lot of potential to be great... but not like this. Gonna sit this one out and wait a month or two in hopes things get better.

Blizzard is not at fault for people using 3rd party hack software or exploiting their games. Blizzard bans more than you'll ever know every single year. How many does the F2P developers/publishers ban every year? Almost noone, at least compared to Blizzard.

While i admit Diablo 3 was a flop, it gives you no right to slander a company/name that has sucessfully run an mmorpg on the P2P platform for the past 9 years, and still kicking.

No 3rd party software needed for Diablo 3. Just put gold up on RMAH. Cancel and get 2x the amount back. Also World of Warcraft has had many many exploits. Also your right they have kept WoW alive for 9 years. That has nothing to do with the timing on when it came out or the amount of resources they currently have. Blizzard has a lot more resources than cryptic will ever hope to have. What I was originally trying to say is that Crypic will work things out in time. You can't keep comparing smaller companies to big ones with a ton of resources. Every game has bugs and huge problems. The difference is the amount of resources one has to fix them.

I have been playing since the game released. I honestly have never run into a single bug. Or broken quest, or lost item or any bugs what so ever.

The only bug I have seen is the QQ bug in the forums.

Still doesn't inject more than what normally is possible. Sure people that don't max 24k daily might earn some more AD, but it's not in the number that causes problems like we have now. The problem is people started with 600k to 2600k AD. That is the problem. Not that someone had it easier to get 24k one day..

Well that only fixes one part of a problem that exsists in many aspects of the game.

Then you have to delete and ban foundry abusers, AD exploit farming abusers, quest exploit farming abusers and so on.

Technically that's 24k per character. So, that's 48k on an unupgrade account, and more if someone makes multiple accounts. (note: not a suggestion for people to make multiple accounts, just stating)

Or doesn't care about it. Perhaps if people just ignore the bugs and the abuse of them and just let those who want to do it get banned once they fix it the forums wouldn't be swarmed with these posts. But no, people get butt hurt if someone has better stuff or it's richer than them, cheat or no cheat they will haunt them and try to find a cause to feel better about themselves like Oh hes "cheating now I feel better" If he likes cheating kudos to him, the company is the one with the policies and judgement not the players. If you don't like cheating then play legit and enjoy the game, don't look at what other people do, don't use guides. Discover what YOU cant do and not what google tells you to do.

They should wipe every character on every server AND:

Give everyone 1 free character slot
    1 free respec token
Refund ALL Zen they ever purchased through zen shop (trading by AD can be reaccomplished)

That way, those that paid money would still have teh amount they paid for and characters can still be wiped.

But first and foremost, need to plug those bugs.

You stupid, guy? If this is pay to play, then you're right. But this is cash shop. Which means I am paying real money for things that Mr. Exploiter is getting for free with little effort because he is... exploiting. The fact that this wouldn't bother you shows that you live in your own little world with little awareness.

This is the same exact thing as this 35 page thread. Why start another one instead of just posting in there? It's not like it was buried 10 pages deep or anything.

You know, the same can be said for piracy, except that in those cases it's usually the publisher that worries. Food for thought.

Sure they would. But still would be better than what they lose in the long run when the majority of people quit due to the exploits.

Food for what thought? Both are stealing. "Same could be said for the old lady that shoplifts from the grocery store, except usually is the grocer that worries. Food for thought".

    No....no they don't. At all.

You're thinking of Blizzard. Not Cryptic.
