With regards to the costume, I'm not a fan. The armour is far too dark, making it a muddy indistinct mess of black and purple. The spikes and crown look like they are trying to hard to appear bad ****, and the rack of skulls pushes the ensemble even further to this extreme. And then... Why exactly is she naked? I mean,…
It was a rush job, yeah. I normally spend longer making costumes, but the basic idea is there. I probably won't bother playing this character very much, so it was to experiment with powers and costumes together more than anything else.
The main technique to take from Stormtroopers is to layer armour pieces over a dark cloth or leather base - usually black. The armour doesn't actually need to be white per se, as practically anything will stand out when placed on the underclothes. Such as this VIPER redesign concept I did a couple of years ago: As for...…
But this isn't our concern. It's not for the players to run the game, it's for the players to play and enjoy it. We make suggestions for what we'd like added to increase our enjoyment, but if it came to the players to worry about TOS violations, lawsuits, sales figures and the like then the least we could expect is a wage…
Oh there's no way it could get full marks. A 5 star or 10/10 set has to have universal appeal to every player, and ar the same time be affordable. The archer set is brilliant, I agree, but that doesn't make it perfect.
In light of the ice material being added for geo armour pieces, could it also be added to the colossus pieces that can be acquired through the Resistance adventure pack?
Belts moved to legs page - there are still occasions where hips wear and belts cannot be combined, so having these mutually exclusive pieces on the same page would save a lot of going back and forth. Also, the torso page is rather over-full, and could do with simplifying down a little. Bracers moved to hands page - okay,…
Quick update: due to the recent changes to the costume editor, you can now remove the scarf tail without needing to have a jacket on at the same time, so that's a bit more freeing!
The benefit of Foundry is longevity. Content creation in CO is slow-to-never, so farming out content creation to the player base (who are already being creative all the time, due to the excellent costume editor) would be an economical move. Especially if it could be monetised through the Z-store.
If there's new content, I'd like to see it be a bit more creative than sticking to existing villain groups. Much as I like dealing with PSI and ARGENT, there's no reason not to make new villains and minions up rather than stick to the same groups we've been beating up for the last six years. How about a treasure hunt?…
I missed last week because I'm terrible. Sorry. Have a little cyberpunk: Wednesday 11th February 2015 Trojan Costume sets required: Iron Age (Headwear), Cyborg Beast (left hand), Steampunk Cyborg Costume unlocks required: New Shadows Pinned Cravat, New Shadows Buckled Shoes, Alien Skin Tights ===== How do I import this…
Wednesday 28th January 2015 CMDR Hall Costume sets required: Pulp (chest layer), Cosmic Knight (neck, belt), Psionic Dragon (shoulders) Costume unlocks required: Project Clockwork set (headwear, eye accessory) ===== Dashing space captain! I've been playing a lot of Elite: Dangerous lately, and sadly the space captains…
Ahem. Missed last week due to real life being a complete *****. And this comes a day late because of Bobsy being a complete *****. But I've at least included two costumes, so there's that. Wednesday 14th January 2015 and Wednesday 21st January 2015 Drop and The Nicest Merc in Town Costume sets required (Drop): Project…
Wednesday 31st December 2014 The Baldur's Gate 2 Collection (5/5) Edwin was a hell of a lot of fun to make, after the browns and greys of Jaheira, Korgan and the like. He's a Red Wizard of Thay, an absolute crazy arsehole, and one of the funniest characters in the game, always muttering and plotting against his comrades...…
Wednesday 31st December 2014 The Baldur's Gate 2 Collection (4/5) Keldorn was one of the first BG2 costumes I made, and I really like the colour scheme of golden ceremonial armour and mauve cape to give it some variation. It's a shame I wasn't able to add more cloth on there, but them's the breaks. In game Keldorn's a…
Wednesday 31st December 2014 The Baldur's Gate 2 Collection (3/5) Cuties! I wub wub wub these three. Aerie's hair isn't anywhere near right, simply because there's no way of getting it in CO. It's supposed to be all tousled and tangled up with ribbons and string and bits and pieces everywhere... but there's nothing close…
Wednesday 31st December 2014 The Baldur's Gate 2 Collection (2/5) Valygar would be every female PC's bae, if only he'd had a romance subplot written. Ah well. He's still pretty much the ultra hotness, except in his dress sense. Like Nalia, he's of noble stock, but unlike her he's hiding up in the woods being all moody and…
Happy New Year! It's the 31st December, the costume a day thread is nearly over, and it falls to me to post the last costume of 2014. I wanted to do something special to see the year out, and racked my brains for ideas. In the end, this is what I came up with: fifteen costumes, each based on an NPC from what one of my…
Wednesday 24th December 2014 Lady of the Forest (Requires: Reindeer antlers gold unlock, Arabian Nights set (chest wear), Dryad set (skirt), Roin'esh set (shoulders), Ancient armour set (helmet), Steel Shadow set (belt)) Goal 1: make creepy nature god/goddess with massive antlers. Goal 2: make something with dangly ribbons…
Also, if you're holding a costume contest you might want to have it planned in advance, maybe announce what the prizes are? Better yet, don't post while high.
When I loaded the costume, the things I wanted to change the most were the exact things you're insisting shouldn't be changed. Which is hardly helpful of me, I realise. Ah well. These are the things I'm trying to wrap my brain around:* This is a pretty generic angel look to go for. Since angels aren't (probably) literally…
Ugh. Sorry this is so late. I came down with something disgusting over the week and am only now managing to kick it, so I missed my normal Wednesday deadline. Anyway, here it is. Hope you like it: Wednesday 17th December 2014 Asset #9 (Requires: Urban Anime set (chest wear), Robotic Pharaoh arms) Basically a small…
Wednesday 10th December 2014 Copper Elemental and Carbon Elemental (Copper Elemental requires: Bone armour set (chest wear, feet, shoulder, arm accessories, leg accessories, bracer), Geo armour set (face, torso, legs, hands), Vine set (belt), Archer set (hood)) (Carbon Elemental requires: Psionic Dragon set (all over) Ugh.…
Wednesday 3rd December 2014 Templar (Requires: Shining Knight set (chest wear), Archer set (torso), Bird People veteran reward set (shoulders), Cosmic Knight set (neck), Steel Shadow set (arm accessories), Nephilim large bracers unlock, Dragon armour belt unlock) About time I used the cosmic knight neck piece (shame it…
Wednesday 26th November 2014 Lisbeth (Requires: Dark Ages Fantasy set (chest), Steel Shadow set (belt), Heroic Formal set (neck)) I really struggled this week. I've got a couple of different ideas on the go, but neither were working out. So I'm afraid in end I put them on hold until I get them worked out, and in the mean…
I've said it before: every alert should be a nemesis alert. The creativity and uniqueness of people's custom enemies is always more interesting than the tedious bank of premade bosses. The questionite box can be removed, or made a need/greed roll so that there's always one in the group that gets it. As for <25s, when their…
Thanks both! I suspect Brienne would scoff a bit at the impracticality of some of it though. A purple cloak over the armour? Totally more Ser Loras's style.
Wednesday 19th November 2014 The Indefatigable (Requires: Project Clockwork Armor set (chest wear), Steel Shadow set (belt), Spartan Armor set (hips layer, cape), Alien Gladiator Pauldron (shoulderpad), Nephelim Bracer) While the circuitry design is a little off, the Project Clockwork Armour turns out to fit a fantasy…
Ohh, fancy sash! I'll get my claws into this tonight after I get home from work. Question first though: how much leeway do we have with z-store and unlocked costume pieces? Are there any sets you'd like us to avoid?
Granted, it's been a long time since I last used a bow, but I think I got it right? The bracer should be on the left wrist because that's where the bowstring is going to snap back - and it is. I know the arm accessory is also called a bracer in this case but I call bull**** on that as the bracer-bracer that she's got on…
Wednesday 12th November 2014 Silverhawk (Requires: Steelhawk set (chest wear), Roin'esh set (shoulder), Archer set (torso, arm accessory, bracer, belt, trousers, boots, belt accessory, neck cape), Exclusive Art Deco shoulderpad) Being a bit cheeky here, as this began life as Velis3's Silvemira Starfall. I really liked the…
