    Hello Heroes
A little Freebie for a fellow artist on the forums. It's off model but the thumbnail I was using at work was the only image that got past the filters and it was pretty small. You've done some great pieces here and I thought you might get a kick out of getting a piece yourself.

I've never seen the adult version but did see the kid long enough to read his bio once, hope you like it.

Now that's an awesome surprise! I totally love it, especially that jerky grin with the cigarette. (What a rebel!) The armor is close enough; even when I draw him the armor is totally different than the in-game version, so it totally works.

The kid version of Offender is really just a gag I pulled for Christmas way back in the day, so his bio doesn't really make sense as a kid. Sorry if it was a bit confusing. :P

I just wanted to get a question cleared as I don't know much about the subject of interest:

Do pin-up girls usually suggest nudity? Thanks in advance!

eiledon's right even if the Bunni B.O.T. one skirted a little too close to the edge. One of the guys at work actually printed it and pinned it on the cork board at work both to embarrass me and because he really liked it.

Pin-Up is actually a simple term it means a full page spread of a single image, suitable for pinning up. They come from comics books, magazines, older rock & roll albums, etc. and are usually quite topical and safe.

Pin-Up girls started this way as well but quickly became their own artform. They range from safe advertising, propaganda and to full nudes, depending on where you pulled it from. The risque but safe stuff became hugely popular and is simply some of the best artwork of it's kind.

From a personal point of view I went this way to simply to make sure my pieces wouldn't get pulled from the public forums, like Champions Online.

I made this a long, long time ago to prove a lame point. However this would be a good example of a Pin-Up from one of the many Anime magazines release here in North America back in the eighties. They always had a naughty section of pages you had to cut yourself.

For those who care the background is water colours and the cell is pencil crayon, both have aged rather poorly. If this is too much, even with the censor bars, feel free to remove it.

I haven't forgotten this piece and I admit I had quite a bit of difficuly getting a feel for it but here it is. In order to keep both recognizable, face forward and to avoid having one shooting offhand I decided to do a card theme. It should be balanced enough that it can be rotated just like a playing card.
    ThrowdownCard:
    ThrowdownCard_zps87bdb74b.jpg
    ThrowdownCardR:
    ThrowdownCardR_zps7972aa17.jpg
So while it's not quite as physical as I would normally like, I do think it captures the skill vs skill face off and I do hope you get a kick out of it.

Definitely a unique concept. I had totally forgotten about how they would face each other. I'm also going to assume that they'll have arrows? :P

If you observe the arrow hand they have let loose their charges. If I were to have drawn a second picture like a comic panel, the two arrows would be colliding in midair, I like to keep the Throwdown neutral. I tend to beat up the heroes more in the Marvel Mash-Ups.

Thanks but I can't claim credit, there are a lot of great images of the Joker & Batman done up as the Jack face card, quite a few done up as (insert Hero here)/Death card. It's a great, real world image of the constant struggle between good and evil.

Hello Heroes, I'm going to launch a special version of the Payback Lottery. I've been feeling a little nostalgic and playing a remake of one of my older Legacy toons, so this Payback is going to reflect those feelings.

If you've followed me or my DA page you will know I did a picture called City of Champions and yes it is an intentional mash-up of City of Heroes and Champions Online. I am looking for two those that remade their City of Heroes character here in Champions. I say two because one of my heroes will take the background or third position. All the normal rules apply, plus you must be able to post a screencap of your CoH toon as well as your CO toon - there must be an obvious resemblance. I don't mean to sound picky but Nostalgia means authentic heroes not simple redresses.

Standard Lottery Rules (these never change):
    (1) Post the name of your hero, (insert theme requirement).
    (2) Post your global name.
    (3) Post a full body, full color picture of the hero (doesn't need to be big, just showing head to toe).
    * do not post the screen-cap until a winner is announced, no screen cap no doodle however.

I will let this one run a bit longer and close it Sunday night. As always feel free to ask question here or in game. Thanks in advance,

Sister Silicon Prime@KWRussell, successor of Sister Silicon (Pinnacle server)@KWRussell, because this is right up my alley.

Philosophical question: Original CoH costume, last costume before The Shutdown, or theoretical costume we'd use today?

BTW, if anybody wants to get a fresh screenshot of their CoH toon, you can use Titan Icon and an i23 or i24 beta client. (Download links are available on that page if you've uninstalled CoH.)
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you

*In all honesty, I just want to know you played City and have carried on that Legacy. First or last, it's all good CoH awarded costume sets as Veteran awards, your costume was bound to change. Theoretical is very hard to prove but I did see a previous thread where you emulated your original look so your good.

Well...I still haven't decided. He just looks too evil to be a hero. His original look involved a third eye, mouth scarf and just simple basic tights. And luckily I had everything I needed to make him but then I gave him some new looks as well.

My idea originally was he is still evil but a powerful telepath, so he could be fooling everyone until the perfect opportunity to strike.

But to answer your question, he isn't a nemesis. Although I should do that as well.

Very tight, lets wrap it up.

If you've followed me or my DA page you will know I did a picture called City of Champions and yes it is an intentional mash-up of City of Heroes and Champions Online. I am looking for two those that remade their City of Heroes character here in Champions. I say two because one of my heroes will take the background or third position. (3) Post a full body, full color picture of the hero (doesn't need to be big, just showing head to toe).
    * do not post the screen-cap until a winner is announced, no screen cap no doodle however.

    CoC Payback
(1-2) Sister Silicon Prime@KWRussell, successor of Sister Silicon (Pinnacle server)@KWRussell,
(3-4) Knight of Swords@Rune, [same name in CoH, same global as well.]
    (5-6) Micro(CO)/Micro Lad(CoH)@prestochango

So I may tweak this a little but in third place (background) we have Sector Protector or Agent Canada, depending on which would fit better.

In second place (middleground), rolled as a d6 we have a (3) "Congratz to Knight of Swords!"
In first place (foreground), rolled as a d6 we have a (5) "Congratz to Sister Silicon Prime!"

I'll get started on this one as soon as the screen caps (both) get posted to the thread but not before I put the finishing touches on the SG Payback. Thanks all.

So, I'm using a slightly older Siobhan costume, and using it as a jumping off point for a theoretical 2014 Moira kit.

He was tapped out of ideas and asked if I could come up with something. It was this conversation that got overheard, so...

Well so far I'm rewriting some of lines of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" and his plan is to make a montage image of some of the better verses. We'll see how it goes, lol.

I got a weird Freebie to post, a rather tricky one as the artist often draws his character to his own tastes. I usually draw from screen caps but Brou is often drawn to resemble a pitbull, rottweiler or even a bull dog face on a large muscular frame.
And while talking to a buddy on how I come up with some of my ideas, I used an example borrowing directly from Looney Tunes and Silly Sketches is that idea. All of this is meant to be funny even if both characters are off model

My part in the Christmas newsletter is over so I have started the CoC doodle. After seeing the pics of the original toons I got an idea of using them as silhouettes in the background. That really got me fired up and I spent a little more time than necessary on that part of the picture so I will be repeating this lottery but with even stricter rules. If that kind of thing appeals to you, then keep your eyes peeled.

    Hello Heroes
Christmas is fast approaching and a buddy "who doesn't want any credit" informed me that Santa keeps a rather meticulous list of heroes and whether they have been Naughty or Nice. This list has some pretty strict rules and even the noblest of heroes may have found themselves on on Santa's naughty list, and that's what I'm offering here.

The Naughty or Nice Lottery is probably the last lottery for the year and will hopefully keep to the holiday feel. The idea here is that I will compile a list of willing participants and roll first for a winner and then, in secret, for your placement on the list. To enter you must be willing to be judged Naughty and I will try to play up how Santa judges you and make no mistake this might be embarrassing. If your character really is a serial killer, final solution, type vigilante then please don't enter. Pick one of your nicer heroes.

So the Nice list: Might be a present, might be a kiss - Santa will be the guest star.
Naughty: Might be a rock, might be a caning - Santa might appear, depends on the punishment.

*I will also need the briefest of origin stories for your character and I mean brief
Batman - Orphaned as a child, young Bruce Wayne swore vengeance on his parents graves. Training his body and mind to peak physical and mental perfection he now wages a ceaseless war on crime as "The Batman!"

I'm going to need time for this one so it starts now and will close Thursday night after I get home from work. This may be the crass, commercialized version of Christmas but it's all in fun. Feel free to ask question here or in game.

    Lil Dead Riding Hood@eviltaco

Lil was a french noblewoman who died hundreds of years ago. Her corporeal form was taken over at the moment of her death, and is worn like a second skin by a demonic entity that wanted to know what it was to live as a human. She doesn't always grasp the subtle nuances of being one of us, and sometimes the mask slips, but all in all she means well.

She's commonly assumed to be a heroic vampire by the general population.

I'm going to need time for this one so it starts now and will close Thursday night after I get home from work. This may be the crass, commercialized version of Christmas but it's all in fun. Feel free to ask question here or in game.

    Terry R Boom D.A.@Liath

Terry Boom was just trying to make his way in a duck eat duck world, working as an attorney for down on their luck anatidae. After his Security Guard father was murdered while trying to prevent the theft of a truck load of plum sauce, Terry could no longer reconcile the futility of his day job with the real issues and crime tormenting Mallard City. Subjecting himself to a rigourous training regime, Terry fashioned himself into a duck avenger of the night - bringing terror to criminals and laying down his own bill of rights.

    Rumble@icwotudidthere (behemoth)

Trapped within a building which was demolished by a crashed Qularr ship during the invasion, Ray Block's body was mutated by the fuel escaping from the ship. The mutation caused Ray to absorb the rubble surrounding him, transforming him into an armored powerhouse people began to call Rumble.

    Hello Heroes
The City of Champions lottery winners' picture is finally posted. "Congratz to Sister Silicon Prime, Knight of Swords and Sector Protector!"
First off, I'm going to post the backdrop because drawing all those old patterns, even if it was just in silhouette, really got me pumped and secondly since SSP was unable to post the proper likenesses I wanted to make sure I still captured the City of Heroes nostalgia.

And now the full shot, with the legacy being carried on in Champions Online.

So while not quite what I wanted I think the picture turned out pretty cool in it's own right and hope everybody involved gets a kick out of it.
