Hello Heroes the first SG Gift Lottery winners' picture is now posted. "Congratz to the Firewatch Initiative!"
    SGGift01:
    SGGift01_zps1j69cm98.jpg
When I saw the initial caps I was struck by three big things, (first) the matching team colours - purple and orange no less, (second) everybody had auras, (third) there were so many costume pieces I couldn't identify. My idea here was to simplify some of the detail but try to maintain a high contrast and keep the auras centralized and out of everybody faces.
I think I came close to my initial vision but I got to say Solar Saber really sells the picture for me.
I hope the Firewatch enjoys this little gift form Solar Saber and me.

Oh my Gosh, AC. It is BEAUTIFUL! I love it so much. -tackle hugs- You're awesome. Thank you!

Also, what is Solar's hand doing over there by Chernobyl? Oooooh, Stellar's gonna be peeeesed.

I love it, AC. Hope you don't mind, but I added in some rough colors and @Liath's Firewatch Initiative logo. This is how it turned out.

    Hello Heroes
The City of Heroes Anniversary just passed and I'm going to honour it with a lottery. You must have a legacy hero to enter this one and there must be an obvious likeness. By legacy I don't mean your offspring or progeny, I mean you remade your Hero here in Champions Online. So what to do for an anniversary, I think a good old fashion Rikti Invasion would some it up nicely. Your hero gets to go toe to toe with an invader.
All the normal rules apply and you need to be able to provide both screen caps for comparison and there must be an obvious likeness or I will roll again. I will also need to know your main attack/weapon.

Standard Lottery Rules (these never change):
    (1) Post the name of your hero, (see above theme requirement).
    (2) Post your global name.
    (3) Post a full body, full color picture of the hero (doesn't need to be big, just showing head to toe).
    * do not post the screen-cap until a winner is announced, no screen cap no doodle however.

I don't want to wait too long to start this so I will close it Sunday morning. Thanks and Happy Anniversary CoH!

I'm probably not going to enter this because I'm in the middle of moving and won't have internet at my new place for at least a week (hampering my ability to post anything nevermind a screenshot) but I do want a confirmation of the rule in play for this time-- which might help anyone else looking to give this one a shot.

When it comes down to the nitty-gritty of my character concepts, none of the characters that I tend to make as recreations from CoH ideas are ever "same" or "related". I'm always trying to find some tweaks to make the character unique for the new setting-- the finest example I have of this is my old GGA main getting Silver-Aged up and rebooted, which puts him out of contention.

If we're just going by comparative looks, would a character with a similar name, "abilities" and likeness/relation to theme as the CoH character count as a good match? If you're more looking for a character that's "hopped dimensions", would it be an aid to provide some sort of proof that it's the same character?

In COH the same character was "Triune Mode" and my handle was still @Rune.

    * You know epelesker, your opening line pretty much made the rest of your post redundant, but here goes.

    * Correct, I'm looking to celebrate City of Heroes not necessarily the Champions version and therefore want to see the likenesses show through. I know there is no direct translation mechanic-wise but similarities do exist.

If we're just going by comparative looks, would a character with a similar name, "abilities" and likeness/relation to theme as the CoH character count as a good match? If you're more looking for a character that's "hopped dimensions", would it be an aid to provide some sort of proof that it's the same character?

    * I'm not looking for the RP elements at all. I'm looking for the obvious likeness without crossing the line into a new character.

Let's take this as a better example:
Captain America / Ultimates Captain America - both are Steve Rogers, both are super patriots and both wear the flag. Yes
Captain America as Nomad - He's still Steve but the Patriotism and the costume are gone. No
U.S. Agent or the Flalcon as Captain America - Patriotism and costume are back but Steve is gone. No

I hope that clears it up,

Hello Heroes, we got two entries and that means we have an official lottery, so I'll roll for my winner right now.

By legacy I don't mean your offspring or progeny, I mean you remade your Hero here in Champions Online. (1-2) Triune@Rune In COH the character was "Triune Mode" and my handle was still @Rune.
(3-4) Doctor Presto @prestochango in COH he was still Doctor Presto and I was @Mariner

Renumbered the list and rolled as a d4, the die faces a "4", "Congratz to Doctor Presto!"

Very small turnout but I guess that's not too surprising, I'll get started on this one as soon as the caps and attack form are posted.

Hey all, I got sick as a dog and have fallen way behind in everything. The art is still flowing but is now out of sequence. So first off I promise another artist that I would do a trade, one of his pieces for one of mine. He drew Agent Canada for me, check him out.

So here's my rendition of his character with a special guest star.

That's awesome gesture Alex and the caps themselves will do nicely. Those were some great pictures by the way and I meant no disrespect to you by not accepting them as reference material. Alex's artwork is all over these forums and anybody who doesn't recognize it really should check him out.

    *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

I love the b*tchy look chern has in that, really just captures her entire character. I got a special giggle from the fact that saber's all protective over them, holding them back and such, when after the combat starts chern's gonna leroy jenkins everything. "Be careful, ladies." "... Do you remember who you're talking to?" Gives the look a bit more meaning. This is incredible, great work.

I also just wanna say, the detail you put into chern is freaking impressive. I was hesitant to enter this, because she's such a complex model. I wouldn't wish drawing her on my worst enemy. But you did a hell of a job, just for technical prowess she's selling it for me. That had to be difficult.

Way late, and i am sorry about that but do watch out for the darkened green skies and do get a kick out the Anniversary Battle.

This will also be the last lottery on this thread, any newer ones will be posted to a new thread. Thanks for eighty-four positive and pretty cool pages.

Good stuff, AC. I'm honored to e the last winner of this thread. Many great pictures youve done here.

Also that drawing reminds me of many of the Golden Age Heroes annual festivals. Several times the Rikti invaded whist we were inside hosting that event.

*edit* Fantastic! Just saw that the Rikti has Dr. P's, famous magical topper in his hand and it's got the never ending scarf popping out!
