I'm thinking about something; just on the basement (wich I like mixing Basic and Tech).

I'm kinda wondering if we could get more choices fragmentations in the future to custumize some of our hideouts. I'm not retaining the name of the options by heart now typing this, but... I think it might be vivid to whom looked those or made them. ^^ (BTW, thanks for making them.)

    For example (and maybe because it is enough small to notice the difference) the basement could;

Keep mom's TV set with the hightech couch and without any hologram on the table or even make chose wich existing table we do want... Altough the torturing chair in front of the TV screen would seems kinda odd.

Same with the bed in the artillery corner but on Mom's laundry corner

I also spotted a fridge that I would get close to hightech desk... But, that's just me.

Ah... One slight defect I now almost always gets in Mom's Basement on the computer corner, soda pop cans and a mini radar dish are floating on top of an invisible machine. And sometimes some objects there are gone missing.

And one compliment over that volley ball we get in mom's basement... I kinda let my chars do mini soccer games with hero guests in the corner by just running in it attempting to get them in a wall side. :P (There are so much places in game we could do stuff like that... but only in hideouts such things close as Destroid bowling with lampost wont get interrupted ;) )

I'm definitely with this. Either break up the decor areas more, or give more varied combinations (I'd rather have more uniform seating around the holographic angel, and someone else wanted the wheelchair that comes with the angel in another group).

Combine that with more varied color selections (in particular, why not have multiple colors for the holograms?), and the basement could be awesome.

Regarding npcs in hideouts... we kinda have one already!

Because when you go outside the moonbase above the tailer area there is an astronaut (could the astronaut be the tailor?). They just rock back and forth on the spot a little but surely that suggests that a hideout could have a stationary npc we could choose between several generic ones at least?

XD I often pretend that someone hid someone's scaphander there :P (It seems hanging by magnetic clamps and acting like an air baloon) ^^

I'd like to apologize if someone has already said my idea. I do not mean to copy I just didn't have the time to read all the posts lol.

    Action Figures
Let's face it right now their just useless collectible eye candy so my ideas are
-A mini game for your action figures in your hideout such as
    1. A rock 'em sock em set up
    2. A street fighter set up
    3. Or maybe just have them dance for our amusement
-A collection of them in an area of your hideout such as on the wall

    Your Other Heroes
-I think their should be a few just chilling in your hideout depending on its size [ by that I mean you enter your hideout and your other heroes are on the couch, by the computer, etc.]
-The high tech basement has a hologram device I was thinking maybe we could flip through our heroes on that
-Picture frames with our heroes up on the wall

    Crafting Table

    Customization
This is Champions Online a gaming king of character customization so why should hideouts only have a limited amount of options.
-Random drops for hideout furniture, equipment, decorations, etc.
-Being able to place furniture where you please

    Indestructible Punching Bag

At the moment that's all I can think of and again if someone already recommended something I just posted I didn't have time to read all the posts.

Out of my ideas I would really like to see my other heroes just chilling in my hideout when I enter.

    Indestructible Punching Bag

From what I know so far:

Action Figures - This would be very cool. I think we may eventually get a Trophy Room for our Hideouts, and that would include a display case for AFs. Getting an Action Figure Battle mini-game, or a setup where they're all dancing in sync, would be awesome, though I wouldn't expect to see that real soon (if at all).

Other Heroes - This is oft-requested, but before he got pulled off this for other projects Tumerboy stated that (IIRC) there are some technical problems with putting NPCs in Hideouts -- something about NPCs requiring "anchors" for good placement, and HIdeouts don't currently have a way of having those. But NPCs in basements -- whether our other heroes, or personal staff -- is something Cryptic wants to do, so that feature may come.

Crafting Tables - We've been told that this is coming, probably the next time there's an update to HIdeouts. There's no word on when that is, though.

Customization - Extensive, Foundry-like customization of HIdeouts is high on the users' Want list, and I'm not quite clear on what the barriers are as to why this wasn't done that way to begin with. (I know there was a good reason; I just didn't quite understand it when it was given.) That kind of customization probably will come with SGHQs, but for our own Hideouts I suspect we can expect not much improvement over what we have now, at least for the foreseeable future.

However, Hideout pieces as random drops (or other rewards) would be excellently cool, and I hope we get that soon.

Indestructible Punching Bag - By this, do you mean "Interactable"? As in, our chars can actually punch at them like they're working out? That would be excellent -- ditto other exercise equipment. Maybe we can have that in a future Hideout. This is the only one of your suggestions that's never been mentioned before (ALAFAICR), and I think it's a good one.

It has been mentioned earlier in the tread but it is always refreshing when we see it back because,
trophy walls, action Figure Stands, Lucha belts displays, is somehow a reminder there is an interest somewhere for this.

But I'd opt too if we did had such display wall, for the humbles, we could conceil some or take an alternate decor piece... We have many types of heroes in each accounts after all.

I think this would work best as a separate Trophy Room. The suggestion of having a place with tokens of our Perk achievements is a popular one, and I'm among its supporters.

How awesome would it be if you could go into your hideout to change characters, or if having a hideout would replace your character select screen with them hanging out in your hideout.

That's an excellent idea! Though it may be difficult with all the permutations of hideout and with players with multiple hideouts. Imagine if rather than the thumbnials on the side there was a group image, a lineup of all your characters and as you moved the highlight from hero to hero the background image would change to that characters current hideout? Thatway we'd get to see he whole lot of characters in each hideout just with a simple background image to accomplish it?

And i'd sure like them to activate the other rooms on our hideouts sometime soon!

Perhaps an easier implementation would be to add a little hologram thingy near the crime computer that simply projects random alts you have, or perhaps the Champions too...

Travel Room, Like the Unity thing is a great Idea! Also I think with the new crafting system it would be nice to have a crafting area in the Hideout as well. A Trophy Area for Perks would be awsome also like in STO :P Then you could personolize it a bit more.

The travel room on the moonbase could be a parked retro-style rocket ship, flying saucer, 80's style angular ship or launchpad (for those heroes who fly under there own power).

more people per hideout please! Penthouse and moon bases can probably hold at least 50 people each, So could the sanctum. Until SG bases are made, these are our only options for SG meetings and events. The low player limits though hinder this greatly.

I like where you're heading with this. Customization makes it fun. The more personal you can make it, the better it will be. I especially like the idea of custom NPCs. What hideout couldn't use a pet, butler/maid, robot, or a few close friends.

Is there really a dire need for that? o_O I'm a bit surprised, as I don't think I've ever see that many people represented from a single supergroup in this game at one time, even at cosmic boss battled and major costume contests. What SG are you involved with that has a capacity issue?

With the recent revisions to the power-up system (specifically, the removal of the need to go to a Power House in order to power up), the need for Trainers in Hideouts is lessened – but not removed. I'd still prefer Hideouts to be like Powerhouses in that the changes that you make there don't get "locked in" until you leave; and I'd put Trainer menu (which is only really needed for the ability to remove powers) in the same place as the Tailor menu: make that the go-to spot for customizing your character.

That said, having the option to "try before you buy" doesn't mean much if you don't have a place to try them out; so Hideouts still need some sort of "Danger Room" feature once this is implemented – though if done properly, this could combine the training dummies, the travel power "obstacle course", the "defensive lasers", and the combat simulator into one room.

A training dummy or two + the ability to undo powers at no cost while in the hideout would be great!

It'd also be cool to permit other people to freely visit your hideout even when you're not there, (not to make changes or anything, though).

What's the possibility that we could choose to have our characters starting out in the hideout when we load up the game?

That way each game session could start out in our hideout. Making it more of a regularly used feature each time we play.

That isn't likely as your hideout spawns an instance when you enter and despawns a few minutes after you leave; It basically doesn't exist after you've been logged out for more than a few minutes.

If there's some kind of "bookmark" to indicate that Our Hero was in his/her Hideout when logging out, the system could just respawn the Hideout when that same hero logs in.

That's the simple solution... but of course "simple" and "easy" are often two very different things.

-Storage: Any kind of chest, locker, or safe would suffice, no need to fancy it up. I doubt we even need a new room for it.

-Travel Room: A portal for Sanctum, teleport pad for Moon, some kind of trapdoor for Basement, elevator for Cave, officially open window for Penthouse. All of them should be usable and they'd teleport you to some of the more important places.

-Training Room: Workout room, or a punching bag or dummy in the corner, or a target-practice on the wall would be fine, most hideouts wouldn't need a new room. Moon hideouts could have a room with target-holograms, though, Sanctums could have a study desk in the library with books and scrolls scattered around.

-Trophy room sounds incredibly lame, given the lack of difficult (or else) content. Don't waste time on that unless you also give us some REALLY hard-to-get skulls to pin on the wall.

What about all 6 social areas in MC for Crafting and RPing?
When I start giving Rendez-vous to those MC (see equivalents in VB) now, I'm just getting chars smashed noses into locked doors.

They pretty were beautifful what about recycling? Altough... I miss old crafting; it made our chars seems educated and specialised not just errant dunjeon thugs from a cave age kinda Torchlight thingy! Plus when someone on our list contacted us in thoses instances they knew what we wetre at and what to bring us and or asks us.

Well I was thinking more or less, that your nemesis can intrude your base, OR like in COH (Not trying to compare the games :P) where you have special items and other SG's enter and battle your SG to steal it. Also I think there should be some SG hideouts... Like instead of just one persons hideout, where the SG gathers, a whole fully functioning SG hideout... Again not trying to compare COH and CO but they have 'bases' for SG's in-which there are bills to pay, electricity generators E.C.T, I am not sure about other people but I really like the interactive-ness of the bases in COH

    Thanks

If they were to add the possibility of SG raiding there would have to be PVP factions in the game, but I would like to see SG hideouts like a massive space station or military base.or even to a lesser extent a military base hideout. Also I was in my hideout a few days ago when I found a glitch,I found a room which was never implemented and should be implemented. It was like a gym.Which they could totally work power trainers and personalized NPCs into.

If the basement wasn't so tiny there could be a Smash Alert where the Nemesis attacks in a hero's Hideout. The map would simply be identical, with Minions scattered around in the right strategic places for each.

(Now that I think on it, programming the process by which the server selects the base would probably be a major PITA as well.)

More functionality = more sales (in case PW forgot that)

You know what would be cool? A mission that requires having a hideout, and is particular to each hideout.

Have each mission include components in the hideout and outside the hideout.

Have dynamic cinematics showing our hero entering and leaving the hideout dramatically (helped by having the missions catered to each hideout so the maps are predictable).

Here's some ideas for these hideout-linked missions:

Moonbase- Alien craft spotted on the moonbases computer, player must travel to nearby moon crater and stop the misscreants from obtaining a rare mineral for their super-weapon. The aliens make several attempts so the in-base actions involve studying the mineral and alien tech to determine what they are up to and make a disarming device.

Penthouse- A hostage situation develops on a lower floor! The hero must take out the villains and rescue the hostages. The hero must escort the groups of hostages a group at a time to the safety of the penthouse. Here's a great opportunity for a simple choice, something rare in champs missions, where the hero may tell the hostages it's their base appropriate for no-secret-identity heroes or say it belongs to 'a friend' to keep secret identities secure.

Sanctum- A recently acquired mystical item sends a magical message calling for help from a temple where a group of pacifist monks are in danger from villains intent on stealing the mystical secrets. In-sanctum work involves interacting with the item in order to open a portal to rescue the monks.

Basement- Streetgang violence stirred up by a villain is spilling over into the heroes own neighbourhood The gangs need stopping and the villain behind them identifying. In-basement work includes using the crime computer to identify the villian from clues dropped by the hoodlems.

With a repeatable mission for each hideout, (especially if foes have a few random options like Gadroon, Qular or Elder Worms for the moonbase one for example none of which are in current alerts as well as the Nemesis minion Aliens) it will encourage players to buy more than the one hideout that's free with gold. Especially if it has a good reward.

Hideouts are a great idea. Today are completely useless apart from roleplaying (I have the moon hideout). However it would be easy to make them extremely useful (and profitable for pwe, by the way).

They should have different functionalities that players could buy with MCPD - Primus - Unti- whatever recognition or questionite (aka C-points). The things you can buy with the recognition currency are useless, so they would be solving two problems with the same move.

    What functionalities? For instance:
1.- Teleport tubes. Able to teleport to an already discovered respawn point in the game.
2.- Danger room. Zone where you can summon enemy training bots and practice your powers or to train PVP fights with any guests. However the best thing would be some kind of danger room where you could fight again any mission you've already done in game, or summon a simulated supervillain to train.
    3.- More shared bank accounts.
4.- Access to a store to sell your unused equipment.
    5.- Access to the auctions.
6.- Access to the supergroup creator.
7.- More roleplaying zones. If we talk about the moon, some kind of kitchen, a hangar, an infirmary, ... just think in the usual things a base would have.
    8.- ...

All these things wouldn't be in the hideout from the beginning and the players could buy them, appearing in the hideout as usable furniture: you buy the teleport tubes and some kin of teleporting zone appears in your hideout. Almost like in the Sims, where you can buy furniture but in this case it would be usable furniture.

And please, PLEASE, open all the rooms of the hideouts. There are 2 empty closed domes in the moon waiting to be used.

PS : I do like the idea of your alts populating the hideout

I bought the penthouse loft, and it's great but it's really laggy to walk around it, I was in Mom's basement and not a moment of lag. Also, the "safe room" that our heroes use to be hero-y, can we have some more custom options for that area? And off-topic a bit, I have a bed I can't sleep in, can we get a lay down emote, STO has it, I hope laying down isn't part of the Star Trek IP, or I owe them a lot of cash for doing it every night.

It would be nice to have more RP editions to hideouts with actual emotes to fit them, also theres a lot of extra space in the penthouse that can be used in upcoming updates, theres a whole room upstairs which I hope will get added along with the crafting room or maybe the room Im talking about IS the upcoming crafting room, but back to the topic, theres a whole side of the building downstairs that is unused, maybe when vehicles come out it can have something to do with it,maybe a spiral ramp leading downwards to an exit on the base level of the building,or a launch pad for jets and aerial type vehicles.

Yeah i'd love each hideout to have a vehicle garage/helipad/landing-pad/stables (for whatever mystic 'vehicle' we might get... hmmm maybe something like the golden bird-plane from Mysterious Cities Of Gold?!?!)

I'd love to launch my silver streamlined rocket from my moonbase and fly down to fight crime in millenium city!

Also maybe for the non vehicle users, like PAs,flyers, superspeeders, etc. we can have a launch for them too,it would work the same way I stated earlier, with the hideout having a ground vehicle launch bay for the superspeeders/acro users, any type of ground TP,and the flight would be something upstairs if the hideout had something like it or in a cave maybe in which it has a chamber for each.

Basically heres how I think it could work for different hideouts

Penthouse:Maybe use the empty side of the building on the lower floor for the launch bay,and have an option to make it air or land launch bay.

Cave:have a chamber for each type of vehicle, like flight being a landing pad with a hole in the wall opening up for the vehicle to fly out,or a land one in which a walll opens t reveal a road in which the vehicle leaves.

Moonbase:problably only would have a flight pad here,no offense to the land vehicles but where can they go on the moon?

Basement, problably a land only vehicle bay here, unless it has an elevator to the roof of the building in which the air pad would be.

Sanctum:maybe some kind of air pad or portal to a vehicle bay?

and I believe that covers all hideouts

Teleport platform or wormhole portal would work for land-vehicles at the moonbase.

I'm not sure they'd need to introduce whole new versions of the Hideouts to do that. The probably could just add the functionality to the ones they have.

Which, to an extent, I'd like to see -- chairs one can sit in by Interacting with them (as opposed to taking five minutes to figure out how to position the figure right to cast the illusion), beds one can lay down on, and so forth.
