I had written a post but then the forum deleted it just by making an edit which I'd put a lot of effort in to. However, we just had another attempt and will give it one more go in 25mins just before the event goes. I'll stream it on Twitch (VSilverwings).
Thanks for the shoutout Peter. I tend to put in the basic amount these days but having the opportunity to prove my salt again in the STOFA group and be on the 47 team is very gratifying.
From what I saw it's almost all the same grind mechanics with a different coat of paint. Specialisation, check Reputation, check Rerolling a new character for account rewards, check.....only thing we haven't had that I've seen is another lockbox and I'm sure that's coming anytime now. I'm just about motivated to log in for…
Only browsed the thread and personally not given it much thought but the game is too easy I think but I think that needing players or buffing the enemy is the wrong way to go. For the longest time the game has been all about dps and it's got to the point where anyone can pump out high dps regardless of ship but at the same…
I don't get this clean slate argument. A new PC player will not be anywhere close to players of 6 years. Whatever discrepancy exists on PC will simply form on console. Having an active community is important to an mmo but if not enough bother to populate the console serves then people will leave. I'll admit I care so…
Well this kills any incentive I had. I mean I log in just for the minimum amount to do new stuff then log out anyway and I share a PC with my fiancé so it's not like we can do stuff together in game like we used to. There was a chance that getting my ps4 back soon meant we could play together again and have more reason to…
Erm....okay this could be benefitical to me (assuming I get back actively in to STO) as I share a PC with my fiancee while mine is in the UK and I'll be picknig up my PS4 soon. For gamers as a whole this has to be good news. i imagine PCs are more common these days than consoles but I'm sure this will increase the…
None of the answers really matched my view so chose the closest: Not really. Why? New 'content' = story arc. Content that's just a rehash of what we already have = spec tree, rep... Oh and this lovely lot for new captains: lv1-60...again (and this is just level cap). 9 reputations (including the new one). 5 specialisations…
Given the game's current state I'd say Cryptic chooses what feedback to listen to and they haven't been listening to me. Our options seem to be put up with it or move on and I don't meant that in a mean way, really, I woke up one day and just stopped playing with exception to stuff I hadn't completed like admiralty etc,…
How about we fight the Q next? I'm sure the alpha quadrant could squeeze them in during 2411 somewhere maybe between QWW and Summer event. Even though they could literally snap their fingers I'm sure we could kick their asses reasonably quickly in a season before we then face the enslaught of the Tribble wars which let's…
Starfleet secretary to Starfleet President: "Sir, I have a request from the True Way to go to war. Shall I slot thme in after the Na'kuhl? Reply: Tell them we're free Nov-Dec 2410 or March 2411. Oh and please notify the Q we need to reschedule the war with them until 2412. Back to war yet again. I know war finds you but…
If you haven't got lts by now, heck no. Stick to f2p. That's a no brainier for me. When the game launched or soon after, yes but it would be a massive waste now. Buy everything through ingame currency or if you really have to, give money to cryptic for the few items you want. Personally I don't think this game deserves…
I did originally respond to the OP but couldn't muster the effort it deserved. In a nutshell the problems listed weren't in my opinion the real problems and the solutions wouldn't fix them or at best, delay the inevitable. I've described my relationship with STO since S11 as being on life support; As the content came out,…
This could well be the first event I can't be bothered to do. I've already slumped to just doing new content when it came up like FE but I look at this and just don't see the fun in doing it. Admiralty I could probably get by with in-click-out but this feels like a chore with a card that's used in a grind system. I'm more…
I've understood each of the skill tree incarnations. Bit of common sense, bit of reading and OMG I undertand largely if not all of what's going on! Seriously do people need a Phd or be an overall genius to figure it out? How simple does it have to be? A 60 tiered linear tree with "go faster" and "hit harder"? This is Star…
Feels like Cryptic must change something until it's broken rather than actually make content. Make more grind systems that utilise little or no new content and throw some lockboxes/ships at us and repeat. At the last skill revamp we heard the same thing "they are listening to feedback." Does that mean that they didn't…
It would be a first if they did listen. Expect them to push a system no one asked for and likely break it more than it currently is or break something else because If it ain't broke it ain't cryptic. They might fix it if it impacts their wallets or it means making actual new content but only after they've pushed it out and…
53% is pretty underwhelming. But hey cryptic loves to reinvent the same stuff over and over until they break it rather than address stuff that is actually broken or unbalanced. After another skill revamp how about another esd revamp due to the new temporal drama? Kdf of course and romulans will get diddly squat.
I assume the op means people who come in to an estf having never touched normal or advance and/or begin doing whatever they like in defiance of working as a team. Some do speak English and some have no desire to learn they just want the reward, they've said as such in chat. Normal and advance at least teach you most of…
Urgh Cryptic's really decided to go down the time travel rabbit hole of no return...I mean it's hard enough to write good time travel stories but to take the stance that time travel isn't a isolated event anymore and is now going to affect the future of STO? Whatever you thought of the Iconian Arc it's now going to be on…
If you were here when cryptic last screwed up on old esd, they did! They made the security officers buffed up so any kdf that beamed in got killed very quickly.
If you mean transporting any kdf or kdf allied character to esd, this has been doable for a very long time it's just not been made highly public or exploited heavily for people to notice. It happened very publicly before at a previous qww and maybe other times but the ability has pretty much always been there but cryptic…
No shields...check if you can see them or their level matches the zone. If not it means they've alt tabbed. It stops them from spawning. All they have to do is spawn after 12 mins and bingo! Watch and you'll be amazed how many spawn in time for the dreadnought. 99.9999% will just in time, amazing!
Came up with a post that I realised was pointless, mentioned already and really can be summed up as. I'll do my fair share and not avoid portals/hog transformers from beginning to end. If I see someone idle, I idle. Anyone willing to help them can help me but I won't help them. Personally the only way I can see tackling…
First that ca,e to mind was the Galaxy, intrepid and defiant with their consoles but I bet I'm mixing that up with when they changed the mechanic for added consoles. Was it the excelsior t5? I get mmos can change and nothing is certain especially if personel change but like governments they can pretty much do as they…
No need to delete anything unless you want to make a new character. Leave them and when events pop up or you want to bypass cool downs, jump on an alt. sometimes it's handy but only invest and grind in perhaps one, the rest only if it calls for it like an ev suit for ev missions.
