In being one-shot, despite having more than 111k hull, 19k shields, and 50+% all resists? Add to that buffs, and no NPC should be able to vaporize you instantly.
I'm guessing the CE shockwave considering the event.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Actually I've been seeing that A LOT since I've been running it. That wave goes off and 4-6 people instantly explode but oddly enough my ship barely gets dented and I have no armor stat or armor consoles. I just pop Brace for Impact with the Improved trait for it / T5 shield Regenerator / Scattering Field / Transfer Shield Strength / EPTS 1 and take it to the face...

Just whatever EPTS tier I have handy here. Only one of my ships stands a decent chance of blowing up, and that one's pretty much the worst I have anyway.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
IIRC the Entity wave is Proton based as well so there is no standard resistance to it. Polarize hull should mitigate a large chunk of it as well though.
There is also the bit that often the shockwave gets debuffed by Tyken Rifts or SNB.
If you get lagg and people go out of their way to boost the CE with their good old BFAW spam then the shockwave can hurt.

It depends how far away you are.
Less than 5km, you're deader than a Miranda in a DS9 fleet battle
9km+ it'll just take down your rear shields
Best way to survive is when you hear it go off, trigger "Rock n Roll". You'll surf the wave and come out unharmed
The only reason my lighter ships die (and still only sometimes) is because all my characters are running no skills and no traits. I'm sure if I did just one of those, I would have no problems.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

The amount of damage varies.
On a secondary STO account that is strictly free to play, I have a max level KDF engineer flying the free T5 Vor'cha Battlecruiser. In the CCA mission I generally stay about 4km to 6km away from the CE.
In general, the hull usually drops to between 50% and 60% when the CE releases it's shockwave. However, there have been a few times when my hull only dropped to 95% and twice where even with max shields and max hull, I took a one-shot kill.
They do, but they are usually destroyed quickly enough for me to see their effect. I do notice the effect of beams on the entity though since on runs where we are predominantly torp ships, the wave barely makes a scratch on our hulls. When I run with mostly beam ships, that's when we start seeing people instantly exploding.
CE's wave is manageable, I never die from it and I'm in no way an uber-player. Just use Brace or A2SI and get ready to pop a heal. Now those pesky tholians can be more trouble if a couple gang up on you right before the wave comes...
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
Getting 1 shot does not make a game difficult, just tedious.
Sure, if it happened a lot.. it would be annoying.
The only enemy I can think of that has the capability to one shot anything is the Entity, and that attack is so easy to avoid that it's almost ridiculous. I'm in the same boat as most in this thread, most of the time I just let it hit me because it can't kill me anyway.
Apparently though, the OP isn't going to elaborate any more on what he was talking about, so perhaps the discussion is moot.
OP can't possibly be talking about CCA, or they're doing something wrong.
I generally roll into CCA with about 60% resists across the board plus whatever reasonable amount of shield hardness and resists and once threat is buffed at the same 110k hull levels.
Second blast wave at best only takes a facing down and perhaps 10-20% hull.
However some things can one shot you elsewhere. Main one off my head is the final boss ship in Korfez. It's polaron(?) torpedo of death will smack you down with 300k+ dmg. Despite full health and resists. But at least you can see it coming and shoot it.
This thread is right above another thread complaining that the game is too easy.
What NPC is 'one shotting' you exactly?
isn't that always the case, the games too easy - the games too hard, there aren't enough events - there are too many events, winter/summer events are boring - winter/summer events are too much fun, theres not enough story missions - theres too many story mission, levelling up is too fast - levelling up is too slow.
I think the only thing just about everyone agrees on is apart from queued events like the current CCE the queues are very quiet.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

The easiest of which is to just simply move out of the way. The blast radius is 10km from the Entity. Move to 10.1 Km or further, you take no damage.
If you don't have the abilities to take the blast, then simply move out of the way.

Not that I care, since death in this game means absolutely nothing anyway.

This is STO. There is no knowing our enemies. There's only "spam your enemy to death". Preferably as soon as you are within firing range

But seeing as you get the reward anyway then there is no point in the challenge.
