Never mind, I figured it out with your help. Your hint soldered together two brain memory pieces and I remembered I select the equipped item and take out the visuals! Good as NEW! Thanks a ton. I can play again and my crew can get some much needed Holo Deck time. They send their regards btw.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm keeping my crew on double shift until we get this resolved. I remember we could change the visuals for stuff like Borg equipment, but I can't seem to find the setting that lets me do that. Is that what you mean?

There was, many months ago when I was last active. I love some of the new stuff they've done with STO. Earth Space Dock is absolutely amazing. But we need our 1st person shooter option back.

I did a clean wipe of windows 8 just to "freshen up" the system and was greeted with the joy of Arc being rammed down my throat. Has anyone simply tried install Arc, Installing STO, uninstalling Arc and then going into the STO folder inside program files and making a shortcut for the desktop? Seems to be working for me…

Yes. Pressing "B" keeps you in third person mode, but gives you a type of cross-hair to shoot at enemies as if you were in 1st person...but your not. I got it from the get-go. Agreed! Not everyone wants to play from the bridge, but a lot of people do. At least make it an option. It would be the ultimate, realistic Star Trek experience.
