  • You know this was originally done in TNG on the Ent-D, right? I mean, it isn't like they mounted an emitter array directly to the warp core. ;) As for the new ships, I don't spend on Fed or Klink ships, and I always hated the Scimitar, so I don't see myself touching these.
  • Ingratitude, gotta love the Internet. Thank Heavens none of these people are on my Christmas list. "How dare you give me socks, that's so worthless!!!eleven!!" I assume the dil voucher isn't transferable between characters, so you need to figure out which alt you want it on before claiming it, yes?
  • Simple solution for me has been, if someone comes up behind me while I am waiting to start and I think they might try to 'cut in' ahead of me, I wait for about a second after the race prompt appears. If they jump in ahead of me their hand will go up, and I then hit 'F' and *they* get to fail and go back to the NPC to reset…
  • I'm down with chip and Kodak. If you want a mastery for your fleet T5, buy the Z-store version and grind out the mastery. The only thing you don't have is the Command/Intel/Pilot seats, which frankly I've never thought were earth-shattering.
  • Perhaps the carrier bays/flight deck portion plugs into the Kara in place of the lower hull, replacing the Ha'feh portion. That has some interesting possibilities.
  • The doff assignment comes and goes. They fix it, I'll see it a few times, then it breaks again. Haven't seen one in months, which isn't unusual as even when it is working it is really rare. Romulan captains can use Romulan Boffs and those from their allied faction. KDF and Fed can only get a few Romulan boffs through their…
  • Oh, OP, if only this weren't the tip of the proverbial iceberg. That happens in practically every mission.
  • That's what happens when you don't hire a snarchitect to look out for the interests of the gingerbread people. Unscrupulous contractors will take a mile if you give 'em an inch!
  • Gotcha. The whole food replication part of the game is something I've never really tried to wrap my noggin around.
  • Not *that* large. I think the special 'upgraded' epohhs like "Elder Candystriper with Bow" are 200 marks, and the non-special Elder epohhs are 100. Might be 250 and 125, I forget.
  • tsurial@royalsovereign, had it happen twice. Both times relogging gave me the 'safe login'? option, which worked, and I came back on the WW map.
  • It occurs to me that originally, BFaW damage output was limited by weapons power drain. Now, with the high-DPS players overcapping their power by insane amounts, that limit is no longer effective. I don't think making each shot drain as if it were a standard non-BFaW shot is the answer, that'd probably be too much, but an…
  • There *are* Rom chefs in the system. Not sure about bartenders tho.
  • The 'leechers' could simply be people who played the event earlier, then when it was done they stood where they were and started on reputation/Admiralty/Doffing/etc. and they just hadn't moved. Maybe they got up to make a sandwich. I don't know if you can tell whether they clicked on the 'join the fight' box at the…
  • If someone is standing at the start, I wait for them to go. If I am at the start and someone else runs up, I wait for about 1-2 seconds when the interact comes up. If the guy behind me spams it to 'cut in line', then I hit 'F' and DQ him and run my race. I figure if they think they will cut, they'll be spamming it. If they…
  • Not sure about the poster who said they *jog* and win without any aids. But I did manage to win while only jogging a few days ago with just the frost boots and a plasma repeater with the [RUN] mod. With the frost boots you still have to slide a bit but much more control than sprinting. Worth trying for those having trouble…
  • Well, so that you could have your bacon, of course!
  • I've read that "tactic" in a couple of other threads. I have very rarely lined up to race and not gotten an NPC opponent for some reason, tho I've never intentionally failed the race. YMMV, not responsible for giant Monty Python-like feet that may or may not come out of the sky and squish you. ;)
  • A ) City of Heroes/Villains was the Best MMO of all time. That game was truly special, and not a day goes by that I don't miss it. Many of STO's best features are similar to CoH - which was also a product of Cryptic (and far better than Champions) B ) I agree with your sentiments above, and really enjoy STO. C ) Cue all…
  • For those who lack the patience to fail a few times while learning how to run on ice, I think you can just fail a few times in a row (easily accomplished by leaving the track) and then it'll let you run by yourself. Then you can take a leisurely, stress-free stroll around the course to get your daily shiny.
  • And you sound like an entitled whiner. You said above that "no MMO does this" - except they *all* do it in some form or another. It is a 'free with grind' reward. Don't like it? Don't grind for it. You wanna tell 'em what you think? Fine. Don't grind for it. Don't log in during the event. But shouting at everyone else that…
  • Yes, the whole idea with fleet ships is that you're encouraged to buy the C-Store version (which gets the console and, at T6, a starship trait, and is available to all your characters of that faction), then with the discount (sorry KDF) you buy the Fleet ship for an add'l $5 to get the stronger hull and shields and the…
  • Beholder in the eye of, beauty is, hmmm? [/Yoda]
  • Thanks, protoneous, for posting that up (and not getting too upset with the inevitable 'photoshop' claims) and clarifying the source. Glad Cryptic did a little something for our Mac using brethren that were locked out for awhile.
  • I will say this, I've said many times that letting Superior Rom Operative stack was a mistake. I think you should be able to have one (1) Superior, one (1) Romulan Operative, one (1) Basic Rom Operative and the Captain version as the maximum. Or maybe they should just hardcap CritH and be done with it. ;)
  • In the main discussion thread for the new carrier, Trendy did say several times she is working to try and address this. I think that we (and KDF too) will get some kind of T6 Science option sometime relatively soon, and that we'll get a full carrier eventually.
  • I prefer my Aelahl, but the Morrigu is a damned fine ship, can't go wrong with it.
  • Did you make sure you've spent all your skill points? I've had a couple of alts where I was like "Why am I sucking so badly?" then realized I hadn't bought skills since like level 25.
  • Not if you want a carrier. You've just described a Science Vessel.
