  • Thanks for your reply. I did turn off the on-demand patching, though I didn't do a "force verify." I run directly from the launcher - no Arc. Interestingly, using a VPN (TunnelBear) seems to have alleviated the problem. So, it sounds like some kind of network routing issue from my end to the Cryptic servers. I'm overseas…
  • Note: Also happens just switching maps. For example, I just loaded a patrol mission, and during the map change from Qo'nos shipyard to the Rescue and Search patrol, the game hung with the same behavior. Ugh!
  • Yep. Still missing from Promotions Tab as of 8:38AM PDT.
  • No ideas? Anybody? Bueller? Buuuueeelllleeeer? O.o
  • Never mind. I somehow found the "Second Wave" mission to start "Lot Dominion" arc. FINALLY!!! :)
  • I now see why Attack Pattern BETA is so popular in this game. Just...sad. B) RCK01 - a.k.a. "Evul Jacob/Cuddly Jacob" - Hax Pandas/Sad Pandas PvP
  • Not all competition is PvP-based. Even the "DPS League" (note the word LEAGUE) must recognize the advantages of an extra 30% damage, for example, when trying for that ultimate, chart-topping ISA run. Or for when "[email protected]#725528" wants to solo an entire side of the map (including probes) in Khitomer Space in record…
  • OK, well let me put this in terms that the "DPS League" might understand: 1. Without Endeavor progression: Normal Damage/CrtH/CrtD 2. With Endeavor progression: up to 30% higher Damage/7.5% Higher CrtH/30% higher CrtD I'm not going to bring up issues like Hull Cap or Healing since they mean nothing to your crowd. But no…
  • Same situation here (Mauritius). Grrrr....
  • Sadly, the trait doesn't seem to work for some reason. I slot it, then activate Sensor Scan, Subnuc or Scattering Field and nothing happens. If I activate Evasive Maneuvers, an "Enhanced Sensors" icon *does* appear on my buff bar (with a 15 second timer), but that's all. If I check my DrainX/CtrlX stats, I see that neither…
  • So...how did you overcome the fact that your heals don't work after, say, level 106 (see below)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAssL0NPqAk
  • Throwing my hat in the ring: - @rck01 - /Sci/Nab/Don't ask me to call or you'll regret it. :)
  • Anyone know if the Rift Stabilizer console from the Paradox will be similarly unlocked? Because the 3-piece set bonus from running all three 29c consoles (Temporal Acceleration) is HUGE, especially in PvP.
  • PvP isn't going anywhere for the simple reason that it's nearly impossible to become competitive as a "Free to Play" user. No other community spends as much on ships, gear, upgrades, etc. PvPers are the ultimate "mix/max" players, willing to shell out serious cash for a new trait or ability that *might* give them an edge…
  • I can confirm that this continues to be a problem with shield overload. Every 5 seconds it cycles between "on" and "off" - as in, the resist boost is there, then it isn't, then it's back again, etc., for 30 seconds. Really TRIBBLE up PvP matches by providing a glaring hole in resist coverage when it should be much higher,…
  • Seeing same behavior as Nando and Augment. Even private matches (assuming you can figure out the UI to make one) cause the level scaling to occur. A 1v1 match with Grunf had us both at 18K hulls. Weapons damage was also nearly halved. Unacceptable! I've poured serious money into this game over the past few months. Fix this…
  • Do I get extra credit for maintaining a consistent naming scheme? R.R.W. Prickly Beast (R'Mor) R.R.W. Prickly Thing (Orberous) R.R.W. Prickly Pear (Eternal) R.R.W. Prickly Whale (T'Laru) R.R.W. Prickly Shadow (Fleet T'Varo) And, of course, various iterations of U.S.S. Purple Avenger (I was into Polaron weps as a Fed). Etc.…
  • I've run various combinations of EPIC protonic consoles - 3x on a Temporal Raider, 4x on a Fleet T'varo, and 5x on either a Wells or an Eternal. In my experience, for them to do reliable dmg, you need multiple consoles and multiple powers activated in a series to maximize the proc chance. For example, on my Raider with 3…
  • Ah...if wishes were horses... RCK - a.k.a. "Evul Jacob"
  • The problem with the current wells is that, for optimal effectiveness, you really need to slot the full Temporal Warfare Set. And that means a sizable (600) lobi expenditure on top of the cost of the ship (which lately, has become quite affordable on Exchange). A "Wells" - or R'Mor, in my case - is only fully unleashed…
  • Yes, yes, and....wait for it...YESSSS!!!! And who the hell voted "no?" C'mon, this is a no-brainer, especially if you swap ships a lot and/or do both PvE and PvP. RCK - a.k.a. "Evul Jacob"
  • You're a braver soul than I! Whenever I trot out my long suffering R'Mor I end up as cannon fodder (literally - the CRF kind). Without the full temporal set (or whatever procs the "bubble" during backstep - Tipler + Manheim?), and with my unwillingness to plunk down even more hard earned cash for Shield Overload, it's just…
  • I'm just a dirty little sci-vaper flying a Temporal Raider and spamming Protonic misery. It feels "wrong" to kill without firing a "shot" (well, a couple of unbuffed torps), so I'll now crawl into my dark, dusty corner and flagellate myself a while. :) RCK - a.k.a. "Evul Jacob"
  • Evul [email protected]: 1. Temporal Raider (T6) 2. Temporal Science Vessel R'Mor Class (T5-U). 3. Whatever else makes sense in the new META. Everyone knows me by now but I still thought I'd chime in.
  • I'm guessing a lot of ships that were shut-out of PvP because of the lack of T6 abilities will become effective again. Looking forward to flying my own R'Mor again - but *with* both Zahl and Continuity (advantages of being a Sci - no GDF to worry about). RCK - a.k.a. "Evul Jacob"
  • It's interesting to see how some players are already testing new PvP builds in anticipation of the revamp. Lately, I've seen a lot of classic cannon escort configs and T5-U science ships (Wells/Korath/R'Mor) flying around Ker'rat and the queues. Some veteran Tac players are even trying to fly *without* the Invincible trait…
  • I'll be very curious to see how they "match make" for PvP arenas. Some have mentioned a "skills based" model. How would this be calculated? By kill count? Team victories? Other metrics (like most outgoing dmg, most healing, etc.)? One thing's for sure: Those "Evil Grandpa" pre-made teams will be awfully lonely as wait…
  • Spartan, If you're going to take away my Sci Captain Subnuc advantage and make it a generic Sci boff power, how about doing the same to Tac Captain powers, like APA, FOMM and GDF? And what about Sensor Scan? Scattering Field? Also, no mention of any adjustments to Temporal powers. Entropic Redistribution is rather OP at…
  • It really is a sad state of affairs at the moment. As someone who exploits every iota of temporal cheesiness, I can attest that it is way out of balance. And while it's fun to play like a fighter jock in my temporal raider, it says something about the game that a Sci captain is outdueling veteran Tac PvPers in what amounts…
