Same thing here. I decided to cancel my sub and go F2P because you get to keep the stuff that you have on characters made while you still paid. For example, my main kept all of his inventory slots and bank slots when I went to silver.
Even saucer sep wouldn't make the Gal-X useful because of its high price. For $25, there's the Armitage, and the Cat Carrier, which are far better than the current Gal-X. So unless Saucer Sep include a MAJOR boost to trunrate of the stardrive and has the Saucer using its lance or firing its DHC's, most players would rather…
New stances would be a great idea. I'm not sure if they would warrant the need to be in the C-Store, as they could be put in-game for free in an "update".
The way that I think about zen scams is that its basically like a "get $50 for free" thing. In other words its like an offer too good to be true. For example, if you do the surveys, you email address will most likely be "sold" to companies that want to make money off you. So while you make "free" zen, your email will be…
If these abilities would scale to the crew, then the crew damage system would need a tweak. Currently, ships with larger crews actually worse of because torp shots, etc kill a PERCENTAGE of crew, so a 10% crew death to a Galaxy would mean 100 dead crew, while a Defiant would have 5 dead. The way it should be is that crew…
The biggest complaint about STO Tractors is that they don't take mass in effect. When a Danube Runabout "tries" to tractor a Galaxy, the 1000x bigger Galaxy should drag the Danube and not the other way around.
I think that all outfits on our Captains should be usable on Boffs. I remember the time that Off Duty outfits could be used on Boffs and it was awesome. Sadly, this feature was "a bug" according to Cryptic and removed. :(
Me too! The K'Vort is a perfect idea for a Klingon Compliment for the Excelsior. It would be both a Tac ship and a cruiser, similar to what the Excel is (aka CMD ENG/LTC tac) and have Battle Cloak. The compromise would be that its hull specs and size would be more "BOP sized" (Maybe like 29500 Hull) to make up for its Boff…
Would be awesome, but I imagine it would be a lot of work for the devs. A more feasible idea would be to add the ability to create interiors in foundr, so you could create custom ones with whatever number of decks possible.
A Red alert button would be an awesome way to increase the Trek feel of STO. Maybe there could be an optional (you can toggle it on/off in the menu) cutscene where you yell red alert and the the bridge's alert flashers go up and alert sirens sound.
Asset packs would be an awesome idea! It would not only give profits to Cryptic/PWE, but would Foundry authors much needed content to add to their missions. The players would be happy as well because they would get even more quality missions. It's a win-win scenario for all of STO: the devs, authors, and players.
The assets that Foundry needs are things that are found in Trek. Fro example, I would love to see a TNG asset set with TNG walls, Consoles, Replicators, etc. They could even be availible in the C-store for foundry authors to use them. In fact, I would be willing to pay for them if it would justify the cost of making these…
A Borg faction sounds cool, but wouldn't really work in-game. How would you play if you had no individuality? Would the game "force" missions upon you and "force" you to complete them in a perfect way? How would you fly your ship if the collective controls their ships? In order to create a Borg faction STO would either…
The best console in-game is actually a free console called the Assmilated Module. The console is a mission reward for the Borg mission "Assimilation." What makes it great?-4 Reasons* Gives you a hull regen and a shield heal when used with the Borg Set * Has many diverse procs, like higher Crit chance, more weapon power,…
That would be great! Ever since STO launched, I was hoping for more Boff functionality and to develop them as "people" and not just a list o space and ground abilities with a costume (which they are now). In general, in the 2.5 years that STO existed, Cryptic didn't develop the Boffs at all and actually took a step…
The only reason for the high dilithium requirement is to prevent huge amounts of dilithium flowing into the exchange and prevent more people form buying "free" C-Store items. If there wasn't this dilithium sink, then the C-store wouldn't profit and the Exchange would soon have a shortage of Zen as Zen buyers will keep…
I could imagine people "greifing" the Vote-Kick system. Imagine if a fleet is doing a "Fleet run" and doesn't have enough for a five-man. The fleet could pm everyone else to kick the guy right before the marks are awarded so only the fleetmates get Marks.
I stashed all my old Cardassian and Ferengi lockboxes waiting for the prices to go up. My golden opportunity came when I sold them yesterday for an unbelievable profit. :D Amazing how people still buy those boxes despite they're basically worthless.
Well, looks like the PvP revamps that Gozer promised are a thing of the past. I'm just hoping that more devs won't leave and STO becomes a thing of the past.
What I found interesting is that the only "new" map was the magnificent Ops level and everything else was a reskin. Engineering was the Captains Table Exchange. Science was the interior sickbay and science rooms, and Tactical was the Listening post from "Hide and go Seek". But nevertheless, good work on the interiors. I'm…
These forums look like they were meant for some amateur website. STO forums looked like professionally designed forums for a major Trek MMO. Just no comparison: the new forums are awful.
I don't like that PWE FORCED this on us. They should've at least put a poll on the forums if the should change it or leave it. Even a weeks warning would've been better than a "website maintenance that messes up the whole site.
