In almost exactly one month, from brand new newbie to now, I managed to acquire 86 million liquid EC, about another 20-25 million in items I may or may not want to sell plus another I think 16 million worth of items posted on the exchange but not yet sold. This is about 125 million give or take. About 60 million of this…
Description on the trait indicates doubles the range so the OP is correct that it SHOULD give them a 6km engagement range. Now if it is working correctly and matching the trait description or not well that is always up in the air.
You know I just bought the Guramba and I couldn't help but think this same thing myself. Take a S'Golth or even the new and might Nicor and while they are technical 10 Console ships, they are only 10 Console ships IF you yank out their versions of the Javelin, otherwise they only have 9 available consoles. Therefore, the…
I just bought the Guramba and I am loving it. I am a relative newbie so don't really know the mix/max (and don't really card either) equations but for sheer fun factor the Guramba is amazing. As mentioned it is a little lacking in traditional tank but I have found it to feel alot more durable than my Falchion which has…
Career? Kinda, sometimes I think I would like to change my main character but this is mostly due to some of the ships I am interested in playing being better suited to one profession or another. However, I am not really sure career really makes that much of a difference in the long run. What I would like to see is the…
As long as I don't lose it, that is ok because I am going to immediately by the EC expansion as soon as the subscription ends which if I am understanding correctly, should give me full access to everything I had plus allow me to start earning again correct?
To be honest, part of what would make me want to buy a ship is how good it looks and the Hunter and Bugship are both ugly as sin me. I just like the look of the Nicor. The bonus is that it is actually good and good looking hehe. As far a funds are concerned, yeah they are a little tight. I only have about 82 million saved…
Oh yeah it is obviously superior with the extra tac console and 4th aft gun but 4 times the cost special?? Honestly I had really decided to buy one because just love multi-role ships (even if they usually aren't as good as specialist ship) and the Nicor looks amazing as a multi-role ship but I was figuring on probably…
It is more of a Destroyer but definitely not a cruiser. 14 Turn rate and the ability to mount Dual cannons pretty much solidly puts it into Escort/Destroyer Category. Also they have the Dromais Bio-Cruiser so it doesn't really make sense for them to release two cruisers.
Just a curious question. Are they really so good as to justify their 200 million EC current price tag? I had sold myself on buying the S'golth but when I saw the new Bio-Warship I liked it's set up a little better. I mean it is undeniable that the extra aft weapon slot and the 5 tac consoles make the Nicor a better damage…
Yeah I am going to buy the EC Limit Cap. Currently thought with the sub active, it lists the EC Limit Cap as being purchased so I can't apparently buy it until the sub ends. Therefore their will be a brief time between my Sub ending and being able to buy the Cap increase. Obviously I don't want to lose 70 million EC during…
Well again looking at the stats, I think this is a hell of a cruiser. Just about everything about it looks great including its turn speed and general mobility.....but so, so ugly. I do like the Nicor though and am thinking very, very strongly about buying one if they ever come down into the 90 million range.
Honestly I am not sure these make up for the difference. Quantum absorption is definitely a good get out of jail free card but it takes time to charge up, has a long-ish cooldown and uses the same resources as 3-4 other skills you may want to use occasionally. Also on a Cruiser class vessel, you trade Cruiser Commands for…
The truth is a game absolutely cannot be balanced for both PvE and PvP. One or the other has to suffer and unfortunately it is usually both that suffer causing lackluster gameplay for both styles. Of course developers keep up with being greedy and keep trying to make game that are everything to everyone rather than just…
I mentioned it earlier but wow did they pick the worst visual for this ship. I just re-watched the Undine trailer and for each and every Undine ship showcased in the trailer, I was like, "Wow that is awesome!!!" I mean they all sort of look like a cross between Vorlon and Shadow technology from Babylon 5 but the Dromias is…
I was just contemplating this myself. I am currently running a Vandal for my Klingon Toon and a Valdore for my Romuan toon and despite the fact I have both the Shield Leech and Power Leech consoles on my Valdore and only the power leech on the Vandal the Vandal seems nearly twice as durable and honestly it isn't just the…
Yeah honestly alot of STO's ships requires a huge suspension of disbelief. I mean a Klingon would would not likely ever fly anything from a "lesser rare" yet they are flying Gorn, Orion, etc. Same goes for any faction flying things like Tholian, Breen, etc ships. I mean there is no way they could keep up the logistics…
Well I will see that the cruiser is one butt ugly ship and it even looks like it flies backward. Even if it were the best ship in the game, I don't think I would fly one. Yuk.
I have to agree with the OP. One of the biggest disappointments I have with the game is that it is usually more beneficial to stand around stationary in order to keep the enemy in your best firing arcs, than to fly around at speed. I mean in how many movies/TV episodes did you see Star Ships just sitting in front of a Borg…
I have to admit when I looked the the discription, I was like "Why the hell do I want a weapon that is going to push an enemy out of predictable movement and/or potentially out of range of my weapons?" Maybe someone more experienced with the game than I can see the usefulness though.
It really wasn't about advice on what to do with lockboxes, rather I was just trying to see if anyone did had did the math so to speak and came up with a average value of the contents of a lockbox. I know in most games, some crazy person or another out there ALWAYS seems to do the math and come up with numbers. I guess…
yeah the lockboxes are cheap to buy but I am talking about the content value. Basically if I invest in a key on the EC or even spend money, what is the average return per box. So far as far as I can tell, over the long haul each box is worth about 1 million to 1.5 million EC or about 1/2 the exchange value of a key so…
Looks to be around 1 ship every 250 lockboxes from what I have read. Also another thing to consider is that based on that video of the guy opening 300 lockboxes on youtube, you can roughly expect to earn around 300-400 million EC worth of stuff out of 300 boxes. He managed: 1 lockbox ship 13 mirror ships 9 random genetic…
I am curious about these ships as well. Honestly they kind of look powerful. The Escort stats look more like a Battlecrusier with 34,500 hull and a 1.0 shield modifier except you have Escort like speed and maneuverability, 5 tac consoles plus a death ray of as of yet undetermined power. The Cruiser seems to have all the…
As a new player, I think they are a good add. I like my Mogai but didn't want to spend the $20 on a refit in the C-store, at least not right now. At 150k EC though, I can drop that without thinking too much about it and even if it isn't the ultimate end game ship, I can still have alot of fun goofing off with the Mirror…
I love the idea behind lockboxes but hate the obscene cost to reward ratio. Lockboxes should be revamped quite a bit. They should either: A) only cost like 25 cent for a key Or B) be a super rare drop in game that is guaranteed to award a very sweet prize (maybe even adjust the key prices to 500 zen but your 100%…
Good advice. Didn't even realize I could do this. However, I am new and don't have good gear or even really know what good gear is so even having access to the good gear on test won't replace my inexperience with building out good gear sets. That is why I am relying on veteran opinions on how good they will be, not how…
That brings up another question? Which toon should I use them on if I buy them? Right now my main focused character is my Tac Romulan but he is sporting the Scimitar Pack so seems kind of a waste to have all the cool ships on him. However, since he is alway going to be futher along on rep (most likely), he is going to…
Got to admit, I am loving my little Vandal which got me looking at the Guramba. After watcing the youtube videos, the Guramba really looks like a super fun ship though it seems to get short changed without a Fleet version. I mean the Guramba and the standard Mogh pretty much look comparable in fun factor and performance…
