Got one on Friday, went outside the box on the build and had very good success with it in bot pve and pvp. Fun little ship. Very powerful if built to overcome its shortcomings.
AP weaps are the new Undine ones. Just got the Tier 1 Undine Console to try in the place of the Bioneural, also there are 3xspire tac console +crtd and 2x +crth
Can to do an ESTF and PVP versions, to really see it put through its paces please?
Thank you!:)
Sure! I was planning to do that. Ill get it done as soon as i get some free time, you can expect it soon. To see it TRIBBLE soon as i upload it be sure to subscribe to the channel.
Hi. Watched your video. I was wondering why you call it a ESCORT? It seems to me it is in the cruiser class. Being of size and hull defense. The BO's are only 4. and usually in escorts there are about five with two tactical.
The Undine Lock Box will offer players the opportunity to pilot their very own Nicor Bio-Warship. The same ship seen flown by a single psychically-gifted Undine requires a small crew of Alpha Quadrant species in order to operate at full efficiency. Once properly refitted to be compatible with technology from outside Fluidic Space, the Bio-Warship is ready to be flown into combat against aggressive Undine invaders, or any other threat to our dimension.
And there is no mention that this is a escort. Have I missed another thread from the DEVS stating this is an escort or?
Just a curious question. Are they really so good as to justify their 200 million EC current price tag?
I had sold myself on buying the S'golth but when I saw the new Bio-Warship I liked it's set up a little better. I mean it is undeniable that the extra aft weapon slot and the 5 tac consoles make the Nicor a better damage dealer. But is it really 140 million EC better?
I mean if I look at them side by side. They have a somewhat similar BoFF set up, both being able to use A2B. Both can also work in a Gravity Well on the Sci BoFF. Nicor has alot more hull, but the S'golth has a 1.3 shield modifier. Also both have death rays so aside from an extra turret and tac console (which I know makes a difference) , they are fairly similar.
Price-wise though, 60 million vs 200 million is a pretty huge differences. Now I know that prices are elevated but it is still looking like the Nicor is going to come in at a good solid 150 million and for that cost, I could by both a S'golth AND a MonBash.

It is more of a Destroyer but definitely not a cruiser. 14 Turn rate and the ability to mount Dual cannons pretty much solidly puts it into Escort/Destroyer Category.
Also they have the Dromais Bio-Cruiser so it doesn't really make sense for them to release two cruisers.

Hey, thanks for watching the video. I was calling it an escort because of it size, turn rate, can load cannons and have 5 tac consoles. That is just my opinion as Cryptic didn't specify the class. It's some sort of a hybrid. But based on my experience with those 2 Undine ships, that Nicor is definitely not a cruiser, Dromias is.
Hope this clears the confusion.
game play wise, to me, is much more similar to destroyer type play. See the first Breen ship.
Is it worth 200+ mil? I would not have bought it at that price, I was opening boxes for lobi and out she came. It is a different playstyle built on my different style build. You are correct there are some similarities between it and the elachi escort, but I find the Nicor superior.

Oh yeah it is obviously superior with the extra tac console and 4th aft gun but 4 times the cost special??
Honestly I had really decided to buy one because just love multi-role ships (even if they usually aren't as good as specialist ship) and the Nicor looks amazing as a multi-role ship but I was figuring on probably being able to pick up one around the 90-100 million range. 200 million is just too much compared to a 60 million EC price tag on a S'golth unless I am missing something which is why I asked.

Wait a bit, midway through this run it should drop a bit, I would think. Once the "super shiny" has worn off. I am glad I have mine, but it is not game-changing to me. I was pretty satisfied with my line-up before I got it. It is an interesting twist.

Is the Nicor worth the 200mil for its 8 weapon slots, 5 tac consoles, 2 Lt.Cmdr BOFF stations, and fluidic focus beam console? That's a question based on a player's resources, but in my case, it's a resounding "Hell Ya!"
The unique BOFF layout essentially upgrades an Ensign BOFF skill slot into a Lt.Cmdr skill slot. AFAIK, only bio-ships get to run three Lt.Cmdr skills simultaneously at this time. So with the Nicor, you can pull off some crazy combo's like
The Nicor is easily one of the best lockbox ships ever released, hence the high starting price. However, as more Nicor's hit exchange, that 200mil EC price should start falling unless demand also increases.

If have limited funds, in your place I would rather buy Hirogen Heavy Hunter Escort. It's one of the best es corts ingame. If you have 200m lying around buy the Nicor as its also alongside the Bugship and Heavy Hunter the best escorts ingame.

To be honest, part of what would make me want to buy a ship is how good it looks and the Hunter and Bugship are both ugly as sin me.
I just like the look of the Nicor. The bonus is that it is actually good and good looking hehe.
As far a funds are concerned, yeah they are a little tight. I only have about 82 million saved up and I am relatively new. I am just looking to get that one really cool ship that I really want to play all the time and work to build out to be my go to ship. The Nicor looks like it would be perfect for me however, a 200 million price tag is daunting when you have only been playing a month, especially when you really don't want to have to wait another month or three before you can buy it hehe.

I'm not so sure about that. The demand for the Nicor seems to be much higher than the demand for previous lockbox ships. Prices might come down eventually but not as quickly or as far as with previous lockbox ships.

Thanks for the review btw. It was very enjoyable.
Thank you very much!
But yeah it seems that its going to stay up longer in 200m ec range, unlike pervious lockbox ships.
I won a Nicor when I was opening a set of 20 boxes. I have been happy with it but it can be a bit squishy at times. It has low hull and shields, but the hull heals fast, even with the elite resilient B they drop quick, in system they are a tad under 9K to each side.
I set mine up to be a A2B beam boat, its pretty fun flying around and shooting at everything.
I have been thinking about swapping the RSP for DEM and using marion. Replace the grav well with a TSS or something.
Overall its a fun ship, fast, maneuverable, flexible. should be easily capable of NWS
I use to do 100K DPS, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Your Ramming Speed III deals 242658 (243540) Kinetic Damage (Critical) to you.
I'm surprised people haven't been yelling OP about it yet, since it's essentially a 'Non-Warbird' version of a Scimitar. 8 Beam arrays, 5 tac consoles and a viable A2B setup.
Or have they been yelling it? In all fairness I haven't been paying attention with it, lols.

Maybe you should change your build or reshuffle your traits and doffs.

For pve they will be totally fine!
Amazing little ship.
I've beaten it on elite. It just took forever. And ever. And ever.
It did not take us that long, about 30m which is a good mission length for a decent challenge.
We worked together and cleared on lane at a time.
Hate the Killer had the same power it did on normal, should have been stronger.
Thank you very much!

You can use dual heavies and a dual beam bank, or just copy my weapons layout from the video. It's really effective!
https://youtube.com/user/MyBalkanGaming
With the proper team you can beat it easily.
But if you just pug it, it could last forever!

Well, I'm wanting to stick with all Undine gear just for the theme, plus I cannot afford A2B builds.
Well for that build you only at least need 3 tehnician doffs. You can get the blue ones, they are rather cheap on the exc.
