I am curious about these ships as well. Honestly they kind of look powerful.
The Escort stats look more like a Battlecrusier with 34,500 hull and a 1.0 shield modifier except you have Escort like speed and maneuverability, 5 tac consoles plus a death ray of as of yet undetermined power.
The Cruiser seems to have all the beefiness comparable to some of the best Cruiser buts with almost Escort-like mobility. I mean a base 11 Turn plus Cruiser Command - Strategic Maneuvering means the cruiser can post 14 turn rate itself and 40 inertia isn't exactly ponderous.
Oh and lets not forget the enhanced hull regen which means losing crew has alot less overall effect on general hull repair. This is only minor but still an advantage.
In any case, I was 100% set on buying an Elachi set of ships but depending on the reports from the field, the Undine ships are looking very good. Too bad they are butt ugly.
None of them, unless you want to be infected by Undine genetic material and turned into a puddle of goo.

So I ended up getting the Dromias first. Frankly, I am not impressed. I can get a far superior Boff setup with my Fleet Avenger, with an equal compliment of weapons. Hopefully the Nicor is better.

Neither. The organic nature of Undine bioships allows their hull to passively regenerate at a higher rate than most starships can be repaired. This increased regenerative capacity offers even more durability to these already formidable vessels. Turned out to be a lie and they have the worst hull regen out of any ships I have flown.

So I'm trying to figure out which one to go for, and have to ask ... what BOFF setup are you getting better use out of on the Avenger? What's the limitations to the Dromias' BOFF setup?
I see the Undine Cruiser turns faster. Does that matter?
Just asking because I haven't the ships to get a feel for prior to purchase so anyone who has tried these ships can provide some valuable insight.
As a Federation tactical officer, which undine ship should I try to get first?

I think you should have taken the Exchange Master Key->EC route like I did.
1) Buy lockbox Keys
2) Sell keys at current market price until you get enough EC for the desired lock box ship
3) Buy ship
The going rate of keys last night was about 2.4mil. The lowest priced Nicor Bio-ship was about 200mil. So... 200mil / 2.4mil = 83.33. Therefore, selling 84 keys to Exchange buyers would have given you a Nicor without any risk of failure. At 276 keys used, you consumed enough resources to purchase 3 Nicor Bio-ships

Yeah, I did the key selling to make up what I was short. Now I've got enough for either and still don't know which one I want.
None of them. They don't belong in STO and the person at Cryptic who thought they were a good idea should be sacked.

But oh I want one.
The bio-warship is about as good as the Jem'hadar attack ship.

I mean this with only respect starswordc. but I believe he asked winch ship should he get first. He didn't ask if he should get an Undine ship.
