Elachi Monbash and S'golth...How good are they?

Got a question. For some odd reason the Elachi ships have caught my eye and I am seriously thinking about dropping the EC to buy them.

The question though is since I can't "try before I buy", how good are these ships? Are the decent? fun? Worth the 150 million EC I have to drop on them?

On thing if I buy one, I want both due to the Consoles so they will definately be bought in a set.

    I see the escort used a lot in NWS. I am building a monbosh on an engineer and so far it's worked very good! Good damage with the wave cannons an good healing power capabilitys with the right boffs.

    It is only half-built too so I can't imagine when it is fully done.

    That brings up another question? Which toon should I use them on if I buy them?

    Right now my main focused character is my Tac Romulan but he is sporting the Scimitar Pack so seems kind of a waste to have all the cool ships on him. However, since he is alway going to be futher along on rep (most likely), he is going to always have the best equipment.

    I also have an Fed Engineer, a Klingon Tac and a Rom Sci.

    Well. the Monbosh has more of an engineer focused boff set-up. I assume the escort has more of a tac set-up.

    You can always copy a toon to tribble with the box, then open it and test it on that character.

    My Krommie Engineer runs a Monbosh, and enjoys it very much. Sturdy, good turn, doff set up, 4 tact consoles . . . I think its better than a Galor at less that 2/3 the price

    Been running a S'golth and a Monbosh on one of my KDF Tactical characters. Haven't used the latter too much, but the S'golth has proven to be a great ship. Very resilient, and powerful little Escort with the right equipment.

    Galor is way more agile, but it only has 3 Tact Consoles.

    Theoretically, Monbosh should be a fairly good ship (I have it), but I highly prefer my S'Golth Escort.

    the escort aint half bad, its unfortuanlty on one of my now redundant toons (got so many its not even funny now) but when i was using it, it was very very nice.

    Good advice. Didn't even realize I could do this.

    However, I am new and don't have good gear or even really know what good gear is so even having access to the good gear on test won't replace my inexperience with building out good gear sets. That is why I am relying on veteran opinions on how good they will be, not how good I can currently make them hehe.

    So far sounds like most people like them both which bodes well for the future purchase.

    Anyway do you all think the Monbosh would do ok running it with a Tac Officer?

    Oh and I guess that brings up some other possibility. Can I freely exchange the consoles between characters? I mean I know the ship itself is bound to one character but could I say purchase the S'golth for my Rom TAC and then purchase the Monbosh for my Fed Eng and then just swap the consoles though my account bank when I wanted to play one or the other. I guess the term is Account bound consoles rather than character bound consoles??

    I have both. If you're in a fleet, you may want to re-take a look at the fleet avenger battle cruiser in comparison to the monbosh. I run my monbosh as a scatter volley boat.

    The elachi escort used to be a bit to glassy for me, until they (cryptic) changed how team (tactical engineering and science) abilities and cool downs operate. I now use the elachi escort somewhat successfully as an aux2batt escort with a gravity well. It's a pretty potent setup imho in PvE.

    The consoles aren't worth being slotted imho I may get flack for that.

    Way more?!? Better impulse modifier but same turning rate. I think it looks faster because it is sleek. The Monbosh reminds me of a deranged bunny.
