I need a new RP to make up for my group in Star Wars Galaxies that has died. I really love the idea of going through academy, and the use of the game and the forums to flesh out the story will make it very rich. I am totally down for this project.
When in doubt about Star Trek lore, remember these words: Alpha, Beta, Gamma. http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Trill_language Memory Alpha is the only Star Trek wiki with truly comprehensive information on Canon Star Trek. Memory Beta deals with everything that isn't canon (Games, Comics, Novels, etc.), and Gamma deals with…
The Yeager class is hands down the ugliest canon ship in Star Trek. I hope they never ever put that kit-bashed monstrosity in the game in any capacity. The game has plenty of hideous non-canon ships to chose from already. I'd like to see the Argo shuttle/dunebuggy in game just for the novelty of it. We can have a planet…
The Borg weren't dumb until they added the Queen. Voyager didn't help by adding devices that could destroy a Cube in one hit. Star Trek Online has continued the trend of weakening the Borg. It's lame.
I don't know how you would implement the shapeshifting without it being OP or just a lame novelty. Even after Odo's reform, it'd still be odd to see Changelings as starship commanders since they seem to prefer administrative roles, and existing as a giant lake of goo.
Yeah but she's a babe. The problem is that you can never fill Garak's shoes, or Dukat's, or Damars. In fact, Voyager has trouble following up Deep Space Nine. I've still enjoyed the first two seasons though.
It would work if they just boot Generations out of canon, which I am totally fine with. Still, it will be just as bad for the reasons that made the last two trek movies bad.
I think this is especially true for ships that were seemingly designed in the late 23rd and early 24th Century. There's no reason why ships like the Excalibur are worthless later in the game.
I'd be in favor of allowing players to pick whatever ship they want and souping it up to a tier 5 ship. Who doesn't want to fly around in a Turbo-Miranda?
It looks as if the doctor has aged for some reason. Also it's nice to see Tuvok finally got to promoted to Admiral after being in Starfleet for 117 years.
Cryptic has to make the money. Besides, the ads on the launcher are really not that intrusive, considering the fact you just have to hit the play button to lose them.
I use the I, II, and III and so on as a number to represent tenure, and to provide padding to keep players from jumping to Admiral. Of course nobody would be called Captain II. Yes I agree, at end game you should really pick any damn ship you want to fly around and have it able to stand toe to toe with a ship of the line.…
If you knew how anal I was about Star Trek you would buckle under the pressure. :P I acknowledged they probably wouldn't change it, so I just play pretend.
The fact still remains that there are other players at Earth Spacedock, in sector space, and in instances who all have the Vice Admiral pips. I understand your point, but even if you are the only hero in the game, your career advancement is pretty ludicrous. That would probably be the best option. See my first quote. I…
