Do you have any overclocking going on? In the past for myself, both overclocking on the PCIe bus and on the RAM has caused corruption and crashing issues for myself.

What sound solutions are these issues occurring on? Edit: Try disabling any simulated surround or additional audio options in your audio control panel. Also make sure that STO is set to stereo in the options menu.

Already done. Although, I think that makes them more likely to simply put the game completely on lifesupport, instead of almost lifesupport like it is now. At this point it it's lifecycle, it would probably cost more to properly fix STO from a player's perspective than the return could possibly justify.

I'd actually prefer if they fired from turret hardpoints. Firing from beam hardpoints results in aft omni beams frequently clipping through many ships.

From what I can tell STO doesn't have a hard FPS cap unless you manually enable it. If your system has the horsepower to run it at 144 FPS, you should do fine. Not really. 60 to 80 is within the expected temps for air cooled 580s. The previous gen 480s are rated to take up to 100c, for good reason - those things heat up enough to cook a steak when running at high load. The 500 series is more efficient, but not much. No special reason. I play to kill my winter break time, in conjunction with a couple other MMOs and a few single player titles I'm working on. On the whole, I'm playing it because I happen to have it installed. If it weren't, I probably wouldn't bother.
