It was only an estimated 75 year journey when Voyager first started it, in the game's era, transwarp drives are common on ships and some ships can go up to transwarp 30, so I doubt it will take as long to get to the Delta or Gamma Quadrant.

Eh, everyone in the game is male. Even the lady captains are called sir and he. It's because Cryptic are lazy developers, I mean, apparently there's no gender switch that affect dialog at all, I've never been referred to as ma'am or she or even little missy, and that's like BASIC tier programming stuff there.

The economy in-game is changing, dilithium is being used more and more on fleet projects, people are dumping zen on the market looking for dilithium, hence the exchange rate has gotten better for dilithium sellers and worse for buyers. It's simple economics, really.

It was the crazy scientist guy, he saw the computer as his son, if I recall correctly, so he didn't see the need for a shutoff because, in his mind, there was no chance for the computer to be flawed or do anything wrong, he saw it as perfect.
