This may have been mentioned, but playing a tactical toon on Tribble, I noticed that my first "choice" after spending my Ground skill point was between two grenade options (photon, and smoke). Looking ahead, there were two melee options (Lunge and Sweeping Strikes). Others may disagree, but to me it seems that choosing…
I find it hilarious how many people start screaming that STO will not survive the change in leadership, or not survive the next update. People have literally been saying that since the first days of this game, and yet it is bigger, better, and more popular than ever. Just enjoy it It's just a game. And the game that keeps…
Doesn't that ship have sensor analysis and subsystem targeting? Then it will get the slot. ALL science ships except the light (t1) are getting it. Also, yay!
Hmm... While I totally see the reason for this, it seems a little awkward. You can't get dilithium unless you have everything. But what if we just don't want everything? I'm not saying that there are inferiors or what not, but if we're not a serious PVPer or elite STFer, why not allow us to stop with certain…
First: I love the system overall. But, it seems to me that a better route would be to have all these be "full" primary specializations, and the captain can slot them as either primary or secondary. Thus, only some of the benefits are available when it is slotted secondary (even if all possible points are spent there), but…
This. Or rather than the dilithium, maybe make the "finish now" automatic, or cost nothing (like the Rep weas accelerated). It's notlike we can take this stuff back to Holodeck.
I also think that there needs to be a way to remove the "chance" factor. If this were really the 25th century on a Starship, things mighe be less chancy... but it IS an MMO. That said, crafting in games is always a hit-or-miss scenario, and when people invest significant time and effort into gathering materials, only to…
I tried the tutorial twice, and got stuck at the same point both times. I'm assuming it'll get fixed, it's beta... I'm glad the certain female KDF officer gets killed (trying to be spoiler free) as she sounded like she slipped into a pirate accent a couple of times. :)
After today's UI update I have to say that I think it is stunning. I really feel that it's more "Trek" feeling. My only suggestion is for the "interaction" windows: In the TNG and Voyager color schemes they have white text on light backgrounds, and are difficult to read until mouse-over. I'd personally like to see these…
Lol! Indeed. (Though I do wholeheartedly support more stuff for KDF. Please don;t flame me :) Since the keys cost money, don't you have to spend actual money?
LOL. Love you Geko! I do think it's silly for either FED or KDF to be flying Tholian ships, but at the end of the day doesn't make me want to quit. It's an MMO, some flexibility and sacrificing "reality" for the sake of enjoying the game is necessary.
Borticus said "This is Correct" to a statement that references the inclusion of this contact in either t0 or t1 starbases. So the contact will either be there right off the bat, or when you hit t1, which isn't too long of a grind. (t0 is better, and I hope that is what plays out) Also, you do not have to unlock the…
1. Do I think the price for the ship tokens is ridiculous? Yes. 100 or 200 zen would be appropriate. 2. If you are going for a t5 Rhode Island or t5 Heavy Cruiser (not Excelsior) just but the non-fleet version. Still t5, still free. Unless you are a hard-core PvPer going against another hard core PvPer, the nominal…
I understand the logic in this, but I still disagree with the decision. There is a massive number of fleet marks needed, and this will affect both small fleets and also those of us who WANT to participate, but have work schedules that are not amenable to these types of time-gates.
Granted I do not PvP a lot... but I imagine that yes, the new Fleet ships will be superior in PvP. Though I also credit the skill of the Captain as also crucial, so someone in a F2P ship that is a regular PvPer would easily kick my butt in PvP no matter which ship I buy. However, for the many people who don't PvP, these…
I agree with this. There are other events, but sometimes it's just as much about HOW you get the marks as it is THAT you get the marks. (I'm a complete fan of the other missions by the way, but I LOVE the Tholian Invasion map. I'm happy to pew-pew down there whenever I have time to kill.)
Overall those initial changes look good. Also, I assume the latter refers to things like the tractor beam mines, tetryon mines and Breen-transphasic mine-torp thingy. As long as all are useful, I totally support it! (I also hope that these changes aren't too abrasive to the PvP crowd...)
I think this is perfect. If I'm missioning off in Cardie space I can visit starbase, and then go back to what I'm doing, not ending un in Eta Frakin'Eridani all the time. Maybe they could add a button list like at the academy, so you can beam out to -previous location -or- -Eta eridani sector space
I rather agree with this. It seems the adjustment of the exchange is going in the wrong direction. I say that when I stand to benefit from this, because Cpoints/Zen I can get, I don't have time to grind dilithium. But still, this could lead to massive devaluation of dilithium, which means that those who DO grind it go…
