They closed our Foundry, then lied about "legacy knowledge" to keep it rolling. With all the ST alumni, clearly the studio has the funds to keep everything going. As a F2P who has spent enough Zen to equal a 'lifer', I feel STO is no longer a safe bet to financially support. Sorry guys, but the game's that bad off, then close it down, and I'll be done with Star Trek, which has become a joke anyway.

  • I've been in nightly to run the campaign event missions vs. the Tholians, but I've seen nothing come up to announce these giveaways. Having something appear for just 24 hours with no clear announcement is a joke. I don't care about the rest of the stuff, but as a player who's been F2P since the game opened up, but however…
  • Let's get some omni costume slots in the game, so uniforms and costume slots aren't restricted by type. It's been hampering editor creativity for a long time.
  • Sad to see how many here rolled up into a ball and meekly accepted this. I for one won't box gamble over something as big and major as a starship. If more of you actually grew a spine and took a stand, these would appear in the zen market too...as they should.
  • I'll admit I always snicker into my coffee or beer when I see a 'know it all' post like this. Son...you're trying to explain the 'real world' to others that clearly get it more than you, and via an explanation that someone gave to you. People that actually have spine and some sense make free market trends happen in a good…
  • So, this year for the Flying High ship event, we don't get the bonus Lohlunat vouchers for the initial run?
  • So, they can do a day/night cycle over at Champions Online, and on game engines much older than this (try years), and the devs are going to just 'give up' on this?
  • Hahah! Totally agree, I don't have a Gorn captain and I'd like to see that. At least allow those particular items for Gorn BOFFs. :D
  • Has to do with something with the fact that Risa is the only planet with a functional day/night and that breaks something in the new FX. Weird, because many other MMOs have it and it works well. Doesn't look very good on Cryptic's part. No sunsets, no unauthorized beach parties...this sucks some of the fun out of the place.
  • They got rid of that? WTF??
  • The Rash Guard swimwear has some promise...if we can use it off duty as well. Otherwise, waste of grind time.
  • In retrospect, Cloudminers does seem pretty obvious, even if it didn't grab me right off. Mirrors and Smoke was massively dystopian, and it felt more like Blade Runner and anime cyberpunk. The alien lettering on the neon signs grabbed me as pseudo-Asian so it really fit the look of the genre. I was massively impressed with…
  • Totally disagree here. The devs did a fine job of reproducing the TOS era. Diving into it for a season fully to bring us back to that era. It was fun to fly the ships. I bought the Ranger off the market, I was lucky enough to score the Atlas off the lockboxes. I love the oldschool blue phasers and the 'flashbulb' photon…
  • I've considered the prospect of a privateer/independent faction or career path for some time now. Besides ground gear and costumes, they should have access to other ships as well, such as heavy freighters, tankers, blockade runners, etc. Sound far-fetched? Not really. Anyone that played EVE Online knows you can spend most…
  • I'd like to see some omnislots for costumes. A slot that allows any costume piece from any category, and it's the categories that messed the wearable costume pieces and equipment up, big time.
  • Such a simple thing...you would think we would already have it.
  • None of my characters or BOFFS would have use for one, but I still say yes because I'm inclusive. Take a cowboy hat, for example, with pieces of the mercenary and miner sets...that's the start of an awesome privateer look.
  • That's exactly where I stand on it. Because the whiners among the community were offended that off-duty wear in public zones like stations were destroying their Star Trek immersion...never mind that people are running about in ESD in zebra-striped, hooded pajamas with Hortas and snowmen following them. Open up all the…
  • Hate it? Oh hell, the Pilot Escorts are some of the best ships in the entire game, but if you're the type that prefers to tank it out in a cruiser or dreadnought, you might not fully appreciate them. Blistering damage that can get right in there, drop torpedoes and mines right on the target, and get the hell out fast when…
  • Given the wonderful work that went into modeling the Tzenkethi themselves...please tell me there will be a ground battlezone as well...
  • I like Elisa the best of them. Seems a bit fun-loving as someone said, still quite capable at her job. On most of my ships, she gets hot pants too. :D
  • M-31, hands down. As nice as it would be to see some Gamma quadrant eventually (and by rights we already should have some), I would love me some Andromeda. The sys requirements for STO are getting upped over the next few months...let's see them maximize that, and give us something really exotic that another galaxy should…
  • I'd call ground combat underrated and space combat overrated by comparison. Anyone that thinks space combat is all that more advanced needs to try something like EVE Online. All that being said, I do like the ground missions as well...I played this one tonight. It's good but it's pretty rediculous how most of the Na'kuhl…
  • That may be, but it's really not the place of any single community player, or a group of them, to decide what they don't care to see applies to everyone else.
  • I won't get into the pillow-fighting over specific costume pieces, but I will say this. By 2410, berets are no doubt archaic pieces of military garb...but, if at any point, I'd expect the Enterprise era might still make use of them. Berets are cool, I'd say if it's part of a historical Starfleet uniform...go for it.
  • I just want to know if the graininess is contributing to my poor GFX performance in the AoY missions. If so they need to disable or give us an on/off option for it. If it's not a culprit, then I live with it, given the overall great quality of this expansion.
  • You guys really need to chill. It's really not that bad. However, I am noticing significant stutters and frames in the AoY missions that I'm not getting in the rest of the game. No idea if the grain is contributing, or something else, but they need to identify it.
  • Not enough attention to this thread. Yes, RIP it was tragic, and he should be memorialized in game as well.
  • Reading my mind. I'm totally going to agree on this one. Some of the more brief choices of costuming, mostly female but not always, are non-nonsensical in the way they're allowed in various costume categories. 1) The thrall, retro 'swimwear', or the Shahna outfit, as we Trekkers familiar with its origins may call it, does…
  • Glad to see this is back. Added incentive to replay some of my favorites.
