"The armor is designed to infuse the wearer with increased capacity to take damage rather than waste profits on more durable materials. Additionally, when used with other Kentari designed gear the excessive power can be further modulated to protect the wearer. This effect is not guaranteed to occur as that would not be cost-effective."
Ferengi armor?! The mission reward is a ground armor set that sounds like it was made by a Ferengi?! Eeeeyikes! Do not want!
Congrats ! This will be the first episode which i won't play due to moral objections. Seriously, with all the chemical warfare etc in the world you invent a set, where you can order somem sort of chemical strike from above and with a single-use cheap armor of lowlow quality ????? Gene Roddenberry would shout and cry, if he could see, how depraved Star Trek has become (yes, the films too).
I liked this mission. Specifically, the maps and visuals were appealing. It reminded me of The Cloud Minders TOS episode, various 80s action movies, and Atlas Shrugged for some reason.

Yeah, it had a lot of references to Cloundminders, especially the part where the lady talks about how their social elite live in such tall buildings they don't NEED respirators.

If that's the argument, you'd be a bit late, sir. While I'd pointed out that the Kentari ground set has the RA3 Desolators covered (its Na'kuhl counterpart comes pretty close), the RA2 versions are sort-of covered too (hyperonic radiation and the crystal radiation projector)...

Cloudminers. How cold I have missed that.
It's nt Cloudminers without the dress!
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

When I RP with the Na'kuhl set, I like to think my Federation Admiral had his engineer replace the Biotoxin gas in the weapon with Anesthizine Gas, or some other non poisonous gas that inhibits only higher muscular control and (e.i. some gasious form of Curare) requires a hypo to bring them around. So they may look dead, but are very much alive.
Might be a little harder to do with the Kentari weapons, actions, et al, but I'm sure that the Federation would have to do similar or like the Varon-T Disruptor, it would be illegal to own within Federation boarders.

The set you've, well, head-canoned there (I'm also guessing that creative engineer applied similar changes to the crawler mine) would've been an interesting addition to the Temporal Defense Initiative (and not without precedent - TFO and NSF have multiple ground sets).
In retrospect, Cloudminers does seem pretty obvious, even if it didn't grab me right off. Mirrors and Smoke was massively dystopian, and it felt more like Blade Runner and anime cyberpunk. The alien lettering on the neon signs grabbed me as pseudo-Asian so it really fit the look of the genre.
I was massively impressed with the New Kentari city map. I would love to get an extended version of it as a ground battlefield, or at least as an STF.
