  • I find it very telling that the only argument against a post that expresses an opinion in a very well written, concise and descriptive manner is that the "poster is badly in need of a hug". I guess he is making a fool of himself, huh ?
  • What are you talking about, they fixed what ? or the Elachi ship they just introduced ? Or the inconsequential Winter Event ? (which is getting "fixed" every patch since it began) Or the bug ridden loadout system ? Remember, they are "fixing" this every patch now as well... Sure, it gets better, until ofc you decide to…
  • Funnily enough MWO is doing much better over the last few months. A good case study really, because what happened was that PGI (the developer company) bought all rights to the game and IP license from IGP (the publisher company). Suddenly, things started getting fixed and even content that was promised and stagnated in the…
  • Just do add my voice to this, I find it extremely weird and annoying that the official forum is not the first and foremost place of communicating with the playerbase.
  • I don't understand this aversion - not just from you guys, but all developers in all games I've cared enough to lurk the forums of - for negative feedback. On anything. If a scheduled feature is delayed or cut, the only logical response would be negative. There's no way around it. So saying that "whenever we turned the…
  • First off, very nice original post. However you are using too many electrons to describe a very simple thing. I am surprised by many posts here and how shallow a look they are taking on all the outrage that's on the forums. People are not up in arms about DR because it's grindy. People are up in arms because a) very little…
  • Because not every company in the game industry is releasing moneygrabbing games. There are several that uphold some standards to their software and their customers' satisfaction. They even go in great lengths to ensure that their product finally meets the playerbases' expectations even long after release. In short, there…
  • The promotion idea itself isn't that bad or abusive to the players... you get the same rewards as you always got from an R&D Package plus some lobi. What irks me is that a research box costs 300 zen in the first place. That's almost 3 euro. As a microtransaction 3 euro is fine, but the fact is that one would need at least…
  • The problem is that if they had any idea how or even any intention to do so, the problem would not have appeared in the first place. The problem with the phrasing in the announcement is so evident, that personally, I can't believe it was a "just a mistake".
  • Metrics or player perception aside, there's several facts about DR. 1. Quoting Geko from the PD1 podcast, DR was designed to take as long as leveling to 50. In his words, they are within their pre-set targets, since 1-50 takes 35 hours and 50-60 takes around 45 hours, but that was before the patrol XP boost to Delta…
  • This interview confirmed it for me, STO is in dire straits. It's not a matter of opinion, just look at the facts. Who the hell says "It is successful, we made so much money out of it". I mean seriously. Maybe you would say that in a board room, behind closed doors. It's not something that is said even unofficially, let…
  • The only instances where this happens is when a) people are doing really low damage (I refuse to use the term DPS because technically it exists in STO even less so that in other MMOs) or b) they don't know what they are doing or c) both of the above, and they simply queued for an advanced or elite STF and just hoped the…
  • The fact that at least one out of every two threads in the forums is a legitimate complaint about something, the fact the gameplay bugs subsection of the forums is rife with bugs that are not mere bugs but plainly broken mechanics and systems, the fact that dedicated players who have invested money and more importantly,…
  • DR is nothing else than a bunch of features thrown in together without any consideration - heck, without any clue, even - of how they are going to interact with each other. T6 ships, Int abilities, crafting, upgrades, specializations, scaling npcs, etc etc. If one of these features were to be added to a released game that…
  • That was a very nicely worded post OP, but you seem to not follow all the way through in your arguments. 1. Of course, legally PWE has every right to invalidate whatever content they like. You do know that they can simply remove everything from your account, purchased with zen, dil or ec... just because. Legally there is…
  • I laughed. Thanks :-)
  • I would be willing to even sacrifice a couple of traits for the convenience of not having to deselect and reselect ground and space traits depending on the task at hand. Afterall, it would only make sense since that's how the rep traits work to being with. But, and it's a big "but", it would require... coding! I fear…
  • You really find anything science-y or doctor-y in science boff/captain abilities ? They just look like a different way to blow things up - in my humble Romulan opinion. Maybe I am misguided, you see I am a Romulan that doesn't know much about science. I also believe that we should only allow Romulan Sci captain up to the…
  • But of course! It makes perfect sense that yet another T6 science ship if released fed side. It's not like KDF and Romulans would ever need a proper science ship. Let alone a T6 one. Or need enough T6 starhip traits to fill those empty spaces...
  • Still no fix for Plasma DBBs ?! Your brand new Corrosive Plasma DBBs are missing their procs as well as Romulan Plasma DBBs and pretty much every other plasma DBB is broken. Your own QA has mentioned that it's just a database entry mix-up (they are characterized as phasers, because you know, why would anyone use anything…
  • Of course they don't. It's not like the weekend is the busiest time of the server. Why would a network manager keep an eye on the server/traffic ? It's good thing though that someone took the time to tweet a reminder of the DOFF event we shouldn't forget about. No matter we can't actually play.
  • What did you expect ? An immediate update ? It's not like it's possible to send a targeted message in seconds to thousands of your subscribers/customers. This is just 2014 afteralll.... Seriously though, it's better we are not getting updated through twitter or other official channels. Whoever is responsible for that, is…
  • It's not a matter of difficulty per se. I could do elites easily before DR, and in a fleet team, with people that know what they are doing, we can currently do advanced. I am not saying we plow through them, we do find relative difficulty and we do fail. But we are not overwhelmed. That being said, we do not do regular…
  • When you say "this weapon" do you mean Corrosive Plasma DBBs, or all Plasma DBBs in general, because all Plasma DBBs are missing their proc - even the ones in the Romulan rep store.
  • Having fun in DR... how !? Let's see. Before DR i had 3 toons, 1 tac, 1 eng and 1 sci. All with full MKXII fleet and rep gear. They were anxiously waiting for DR. After launch, I just mothballed 2 of them. No way am I going to slave over dilithium to upgrade all their gear. They are now doffing their way where no other…
  • From Tribble patch notes: Apparently this was a much more game breaking bug than KDF Romulans not being able to train their boffs for their new ships. Go figure.
  • Oh, that's very nice. I guess this bug was game breaking for Fed Roms, unlike the one that prevents KDF Roms to train their boffs at all and actually get to use their new ships effectively. Excellent prioritization there Cryptic.
  • Maybe they also noticed that ROMULAN KDF CAPTAINS CANNOT TRAIN BOFFS FOR A WEEK NOW ?
  • And again, no mention of Romulans not being able to train their boffs at the trainer or with their captain abilities. Or do you not simply consider it a "known issue", let alone a bug worth fixing ? Funny because it was noted and verified here http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1251411 (post No5) and it has…
  • Same problem here. Three romulan captains, tactical/engineer/science all KDF aligned, can't train their boffs at their respective skills and the trainer at New Romulus command doesn't work either. The window shows all skills grayed out in both cases. The trainer at Qo'nos can train boffs though.
