  • That's really, really good. One of my alts is a permadeath character. But normally what gets me is pretty always a random one-shot attack like a spinal lance from the unimatrix. So, if it adds insurance - I can make use of a second chance. :D
  • (Love the post above! :D, and everyone's contributions. There is a lot of fantastic information here. I remember that planet killer mission. When it comes to the story campaign, the most vulnerable parts are definitely the moments you are in weaker ships or suicide-shuttles, or certain ground combat scenarios.
  • I play elite, although as a permadeath character, I would like prefer to keep the ground portions as normal. :) Space elite I enjoy much more though, as normal is almost like target practice drills. I also play elite when coop RPing the campaign, although I can't really tell the difference. I get the sense it scales, but…
  • So long as they bring back the original mirror universe and not some revamped STF-like knock off with annoying objectives, I'll be happy.
  • Pyschologically speaking: we generally prefer good things in small doses. A fine meal in the afternoon, a massage, and other human vices :D - are desirable in small doses. The hourly events at least promoted a sense of flexibility. Mirror universe here, deferi there...back to some campaigning... Instead, this promotes a…
  • Thanks, thats a good idea. Though if you can trade it to a friend, you could trade it to your own handle, surely?:)
  • I utterly approve an easy toddler mode for this STF.
  • So no feedback on if creative trait is essential for a fabrication engineer? (Shield/Medical generators) (Turrets and Mortars?) I'm giving this threat a little bit of CPR. :)
  • Of course, it just appears to be the ultimate regenerative shield to me, and hence a good fit for a cruiser. I mean it's obvious the covarient range fits tacticals. I'm just curious what people would recommend for an engineering/defensive cruiser instead of the Dyson (or at least its shield.) ;)
  • I'm confused. The dyson set is being delegated to science ships. But surely the Dyson shield would be incredible for a tanking cruiser? I mean if you run double emergency power to shields 3, equip a load of shield amps to pump up the regen, run double tactical team so that super-regen is working on all sides....Wow. And…
  • Oh shmoo. And I hoped that the command attract fire, the skill in threat gen, and an ugly paint job would be enough. Obviously I'm asking people to theory craft maximum survivability, and using the term tank instead of "immortal spacebrick" was a mistake. I think I may change the title...;) I'm considering the Scimitar…
  • Some great suggestions. I've written all down on paper while I'm at work. And I agree in regards to the Galaxy. The problem lies with the single engineer station - there are not many abilities in rank 1 engineering to choose from, especially if you pick the emergency power's at later tiers. While science tier 1…
  • Just to add. I would like to see scalable settings between ground and space combat. I love playing the campaign on elite, which at starting levels - feels like the TV show. :) But ground combat I want to keep at "normal'. That's probably because I'm really poo without a huge crew at my command.
  • STO has an unhealthy emphasis on DPS. Were there STFs that ranked players on survival, endurance and support - perhaps the Galaxy would have more love, considering you could stack quite a few layers of hull plating on it. :) I'm soon going to do a perma-death run with an engineer. I'm considering the Galaxy, after I do…
  • What about the medic and shield generators from the fabrication kits? That would make for some very potent healing, surely? :)
