    1) DPS Cap. It's ridiculous when the Borg or Tholian Red Alert is over in 45 seconds
    2) Procedurally generated exploration content. I'd settle for that old system they had years ago that most people hated, but I liked.
    3) More TOS content
    4) Wigs for bald races
    5) Underwater missions. There was an episode of TAS where Spock and Kirk become mermen.

    1. Unrestricted tailor
    2. Unite the factions
    3. Increase the ship name length limit
    4. Reward structures revamped to make all the content viable again, not just the easiest and fastest
    5. Remove forced team requirements in piece-of-cake content that can just as easily be done solo

One main change: Extend the customize ship functionality, so that we can essentially design the appearance and capabilities of our ships.

Add a window which would allow you to see and make tradeoffs with your design between key stats like hull strength/turn/speed or Boffs stations vs. number and type of consoles vs. weapon configuration.

In order to NOT cannibalize cstore sales, I would not have a problem if this ship design function did not allow the creation of ships like ToS connie, but focused on new cross-faction designs.

Basically, give us the equivalent of a character creation for ships where the four key components at the ships customization bridge, secondary hull, nacelles, pylons can be adjusted for size, shape, angle, colors and the skills trees for boff stations, consoles, and such (you can see the way balancing might work with the Power settings for Weapons/Shields/Engine/Aux) and force players to choose between hull strength and speed or shield modifier.

That's kind of harsh. Can you really say this game is worse than Voyager, or Enterprise, or Nemesis, or Insurrection, or the JJ films, or Spock's Brain? Yes, I'd love a TMP-era setting or a TOS-era setting, but the post-DS9 / Voyager setting makes sense as the continuation of the Prime Universe and where it's inconsistent often comes from things that are meant to cater to fans like us who love other eras. These developers have bent over backwards to provide something for fans of ALL iterations of Star Trek, and yeah sometimes the edges don't weld together too smoothly, but it's clear to anyone they actually care about what they're doing as fans of Star Trek and not just punchclock television writer's room hacks --something that has often not been the case for actual screen productions.

Neither of us would have done things the same way all the time, but other fans would surely have their issues with our vision because it would contrast with their own. Pleasing a crowd like Star Trek fans is one hell of a tightrope to walk, getting us all on the same page on anything is like herding cats. As much as I would love to run the franchise or even a single iteration of it like this one, I don't envy the devs the task of dealing with what sometimes can very much seem like the "Unpleasable Fanbase" trope come to life.
    Haters' gonna hate.

My ultimate wish list item would be to have other lesser-tier ships follow me into combat, captained by my extra Boffs to give them specific abilities. Have a T1 Miranda following me into battle with a Science boff in the chair spamming Science Team, a T2 Cruiser with an Engineer using Engi Team 1 and Aux to Structural 1, and a T3 Heavy Escort with Tac Team 1, Torp Spread 2 and FaW 3.

I didn't say I disliked the game's setting. I said I disliked Gecko's vision of Trek. As in, what he thinks is the core of the Trek IP. I dont see Klingons as 'monster play' or Romulans as two-dimensional Snidley Whiplash wanna-bes. And I sure as hell don't think the UFP is the be all and end all of how the universe should be.

You act like that wasn't how ToS and early TNG was at all or something. With rampant Federation colonialism, and treating every race as being "lesser" to the impeccable moral and ethical superiority of the Federation

Hell, even ENT was a lot like that. ENT even said the Klingons would join the Federation at some point in the future.

That's because those stories are told from a UFP only perspective... ofc they'll tell the tale from their side and it will spew their propaganda.... A MMORPG like STO isn't beholden to only telling a story from a UFP perspective... Sadly Cryptic has done exactly that

Except they have done literally nothing of the sort.

Hell, the entire backstory of STO paints the Klingons are in the right, and the Fed being blind idiots.

And it was the Romulans of all people who managed to bring everyone together.

STO has treated both the Roms and the Klinks far better then most instances in the shows themselves did.
Them some lovely rose colored blinders and selective memories you have there... enjoy your delusions.
