It's a shame that they split the vote three ways on this. As a result the winner was selected without a true majority. I wonder who's idea that was? As is, it may or may not actually deserve the win.
Like the previous vote for the Fed carrier, IMO the player base once again selected the worst design. Another ship that I'll use for the Admiralty card and nothing else (small chance the trait may be worth getting before discharging the thing).
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

You mind if I borrow that?

*sigh* would of been fun having a flying saucer oh well guess where stuck with the triangle might as well give it a go when it comes live on STO next year
To be fair, in this case I think it's more a case of individuals unable to distinguish between individual preferences and absolute facts (cf the individual stating "the playerbase picked the worst design" rather that "I don't like the design which was picked"). Still very poor logic, though.
Hm I would have preferred Charlie, the saucer ship. It's not really fair to say that we already have it; the Galaxy's saucer may look like it, but it's not a playable ship on its own.
Anyway, I can live with this. I usually don't really make use of alien ships for a longer time anyway so these ships are just fun to fly a couple of times every now and then. Which will probably work equally well with Alpha.
I am curious though... I would have thought that this would be the Winter event ship but apparently it's the ship for the next Anniversary. Wondering what the Winter event ship will be then.

As for #TeamAlpha winning, I say gratz for them although I voted for #TeamCharlie. Since this ship is going to be an Anniversary ship, and we already got almost all the Breen ships for the Winter, and I have a feeling we'll get at least 2 more Vorgon ships for the Summer event, the Winter event ship question is a damn good one. I am really hoping the Winter event ships are not going to be a rehash of past Winter Breen ships. If that is the case, Then the Winter event will be worth skipping. I, personally, would love to have a new unique ship we haven't gotten before, or as a Q's gift, a chance to get each of the past event ships that was previously unattainable.
Even better would be the Gold Nandi that most of the players never got the chance to claim.

Then why are you ok with the triangle ship? The Elachi already laid claim to that one with the S'golth escort.
The flying dorito is distinctive enough to be seperate from the Elachi wedge. The one that looked like a Son'a ship was way closer to a canon design, and frankly if we want Son'a ships, we should ask the Devs to make actual Son'a ships. Not settle for a knockoff.
You know what? I just might name mine the Flying Dorito just for the fun of it!

It's not mine, so go right ahead. It's a GI Joe reference, of course.
I know, that's why I was wanting to use it. Thanks.

Looking forward to having THREE firing arcs.
4 weapon slots per arc, right?
You are aware that firing arcs have nothing to do with the design of the ships, right? Firing arcs are a degree of the circle that the ship resides in with specific points given just for show so that the laser, cannons and what have you aren't firing from points floating in space.
That said, the best design won and I'm so very glad the Anniversary won't be ushered in by a lightsaber handle.
You are aware that firing arcs SHOULD be based on design right? And also my post was intended as a joke, since I know that this game can't actually get a lot of firing points right anyway.
There's always that one guy who makes excuses about the vote somehow being a flawed application of democracy when the vote doesn't go his way.
While I'm happy that the ship I liked one, he does have a point.
In an ideal situation, everyone would have ranked the options based on which they liked more. You would choose a first choice, second choice, etc. Then they would count up all the first votes and see who lost, that ship's out. Then all those votes go to their voter's second choice, add them up, and see who lost. Continue with this until you have a winner. The only reason this isn't done anywhere is because it would be too time consuming to do without a machine to do it for you. (Though that excuse is disappearing, with the rise of computers.)
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

From my own studies of Ufology that spans 25 years, the triangle, most of them, anyhow, are human made, back engineered from crafts that were salvaged since the 1940's.

You're talking about a Hare-Clark/Single Transferable Vote system or something along those lines, it sounds like.

Hopefully, some of the others will make an appearance as a Lockbox ship or Event ship. It doesn't look like they will be C-Store ships due to being too unique. Each ship is completely unique so they could add them as ships from new alien races. Personally, the only ones I don't like is Team Delta and Team Echo.

Not as good as Beta of course, but whatever.
And at least the stolen Feddy saucer section didn't win.
Same for the pho Son'a ship.
I honestly wouldn't have minded the saucer either, but Congrats to #TeamMetalDorito
Looking forward to finding out what kind of ship she will be.

Probably the Roswell Greys. They seem to have both saucers and triangles.
