Whether or not they're tradable or not doesn't really matter much.
You also get other stuff while collecting the dilithium needed to buy these uniforms: EC, R&D materials etc. None of which are as valuable as a big price from a lock box of course, but you still get it while accumulating the necessary resources.

Lobi store uniforms can be bought off the exchange, for less than $10 worth of zen if you sell keys to get them. So no, they're not nearly as expensive. Especially with a sale going on.
So just like those people doing the calculations of dil to lobi and justifying the pricing on the dil store (conveniently ignoring that last fact), you're missing the point the other side is making, too.

as I said - I have no Intention in getting them. I have 18 toons, 12 of them on KDF side. I rarely Play Feds.
I just wanted to point out how much more expensive they are. Your comparison with Lobi is allright - however the Vaadwaur officer Outfit (which is a Lobi item) is currently at 50M EC - which I still consider considerably cheaper than 1.7M Dilithium. Esp. as there is no daily Limit on grinding EC. You would have to grind Dilithium for 212 days on a single character just for this uniform.
Now my Point is: if you don't want People to use it, why design it. And if you want People to use it, set a reasonable Price.
I have pointed out in the last weeks that the ingame Goals for the Event showed how Little the decicion makers of this game knew about the game - we didn't reach T1 on one Goal and hit T3 on the next one within a day or two. Now their pricing policy seems completely unrealistic.

Where do you think the Dilithium I buy with zen comes from? It comes from other players who obtained it in game, and when I spend it it's taken out of circulation, and the more people looking to obtain dilithium this way, the lower the exchange rate will go. Anything that must be purchased with dilithium is most definitely a dil sink, but the effectiveness of any given sink is determined by how desirable it is, if the cost is right, and how long the given sink remains relevant (by that I mean holdings, which only lower the exchange rate for so long).

Actually I like those prices. Anything the devs do to TRIBBLE feds over is a win in my book.
