I like it, but be aware that the type of game is distinctly different from Legacy, from the gameplay itself to purchase mechanics. Give it a shot when it comes out and decide for yourself. The beauty of a F2P game is that you have all the time in the world to decide if and when you buy some add-on or component of the game, or not, as you choose. A lot of us have our pet peeves with STO, myself included, but it's definitely worth a try; buy something if you like it, or wander off if you don't, but don't let us make the decision for you.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Comments:
1. Keep PC controls and UI the same. Please don't dumb us PCs down to the level of consoles. Complexity and options is what keeps STO fun and engaging.
2. Keep consoles away from PC STO. I would never want to team with someone using a crippled interface (joystick) who can't look around, who can't target team mates and specific NPCs quickly, and who also can't activate specific abilities when necessary.
3. I hope consoles die and stop dumbing down PC games as they have been since forever. If my PC STO experience gets reduced to the level of NW, I'm done here.
It's probably not going to be available till October or November.

Just seen a vid on a game called rebel galaxy looks kind of good but am not sure if i should get invested in it or just wait for sto any advice would be welcome.
sto is free to play ...and in tme you could get anyhtng n the game wthout cash if you grind the dilithum....its one reason tossed out cash cause i know some wont pay and at tme i had been given a 7600 settlement a few years back for disability...yup tossed ..of course not all that went to just THIS game but a few f2p games i play, nor all of it ( some to an ebike and some not the bank,and some to a NICE PC ) so play and have a lil fun here , see if you like and id say wait on other games till there out.

If the console versions will be anything like the PC version I expect it to fail miserably. All the bugs, issues with missions, broken mechanics, the list goes on and on. Sole console players will not tolerate a game with so many issues, free or not, and I look forward to seeing how cryptic handles it once it does go live. Popcorn ready in the forums.

You do realize some of the players trying it on console will be trekkies and like pc Trekkies be willing to pay for things to support the game not to mention recruiting friend to play as well
