I would be happy to offer my services for this. As a UGC author and experienced coder/game developer (indie) in multiple languages for almost 20years I can offer a keen eye not just into identifying problems, but also assessing their likely cause purely from looking at how the problem presents.
Within ST:O I front a diverse community consisting of multiple fleets and armada's where a large portion of personal focus is spread across all aspects of the game from low level missions to PvP to endgame PvE to foundry authoring.
So feel free to drop me a line (in game to @Crystyll if possible since that will likely get picked up before anything here - not to suggest I spend too much time in game or anything!) if I can be of any assistance
I have been playing since shortly after F2P. Have tested on Tribble, and actually pointed out in the zone chat in Sol of the skills invalid issue (seeing if only my toon was affected) in chat this last round of PVE lag testing with the devs before that issue went live, with that zone being where discussions were taking place.
Just another quick request to be considered for the Bug Hunters. I have multiple characters on both Federation and KDF sides (as well as Reman and Romulans). I have a YouTube channel and have submitted bug reports in the past. I am an avid fan and play often and daily and am usually first to find bugs in STO and have even reported a few. I am a PvP, PvE and DPS player and am active in all communities so hear about things or experience them first hand before they are known to others and think I could be an considerable asset to the team.
Honestly, this would not be about the glory but abut helping make the game a better environment for everyone. I promise to play through anything new on multiple characters to shake it out as much as possible. Thanks for taking the time to consider my application.
I think you should look for people with different areas of expertise:
(a) space PvP
(b) ground PvP
(c) space PvE
(d) ground PvE
(e) doffing
(f) the tailor and outfits
(g) the Foundry
(h) math
(i) English
(j) mathematical English
The last three require further clarification.
(h) If you would just tell us how the mechanics are supposed to work, then we could actually check your math. Sometimes, it's difficult to tell whether there actually is a bug or whether the math is just horribly convoluted.
(i) You need someone to proofread your work. There are far too many typos in this game. I don't know why you don't use a spell-checker; that would catch the numerous spelling errors. After the text is spell-checked, pass it to proofreaders to find the more complicated grammatical errors.
(j) Many of your tooltips are horribly written. They violate the basic conventions of mathematical English. Note that mathematical English is a different skill from both math and English. The skill can only be acquired by spending a lot of time writing mathematics, not just solving math problems. It's not a skill commonly taught at the undergraduate level, even in the sciences and engineering. It's really only required of math majors, though other people may pick it up, depending on the focus of their studies.
I nominate you as Project Manager.
I nominate you lot as a replacement for CrypticFrost (minus a paycheck) .
Here's hoping for less ... errr ... confusion .
Forgive me for not completely understanding the full intent of your message. As to not causing confusion (and referencing that article), that's the LAST thing I want to do; confusion only adds to the distrust and negative perception.

To be brutally honest, what does the Dill Weekend Article have to do with anything here?
What is really the point of this? We have tribble and a lot of the players make you folks well aware of the bugs in game and on the forums.

It took you folks TWO WEEKS to get me back control of my account when I was TRIBBLE.Unacceptable by any game support crew.
STO is a very fun game and I have been playing since the release of Legacy of Romulus. I have seen the game improve from endless, silent episodes of fight-and-whatever to episodes that make it seem like you aren't just playing a video game but instead travelling to unknown places, with almost-full voiced speech and sometimes challenging tasks that take your captain's other skills to the test. This is a very endless game; the story continues, even if you have unlocked absolutely everything possible in every character! I also enjoy using the Foundry. I am currently making a mission that will involve the Mirror Universe and the Iconian War. I even live in bikeable distance from Cryptic Studios
Also, take a good look around DS9. What looks like Odo's office sometimes turns into empty space. There is also an NPC near the ship facilities that walks around, stretches, then coughes. a waiter on the top floor in Quark's also randomly coughs.
The Foundry is very glitchy. If you get too far from your away team, they leave you. Also, NPC groups can't fit thru the open-close door/wall.
There are many other glitches and bugs that I know of. I think I will be able to spot and help fix many of the bugs that lie beneath the STO universe (which is in subspace ) I also would like to help out with the continuing mission of STO, if possible. I could help bring back themes like the Gamma Quadrant and the Mirror Universe that were mentioned in the need-to-be-redesigned Cardassian Struggle.
I'd definitely be interested in joining the operational support team. I've made dozens of bug report threads here on the forums and ingame over the years.
Hey there, a bit late to the party I'll admit, but I would be happy to help track down and solve any bugs that crop up. I'm quite happy to countlessly replay that one mission or stf to have my pc crash and have to restart and do the whole thing again Anything which improves the game is worthwhile doing in my book!! Looking forward to getting down to business!

I would be willing to help out as needed, ive been around since alpha/beta of the game and i enjoyed what i had to do during those times and i have over the years sent in reports as i had seen. I hope this is a real effort that has been very much neglected over the years. #Acidrain
Commander Shran - You tell Archer, that is three the pink skin owes me!
Well, I gotta be crazy to still be willing to do this, but yea I can always re-install either tribble, or red shirt which ever is needed. So If the studio want and experienced gamer go ahead and add me to the "prospects" list... My machine is low spec, Pretty much the bottom end of low spec.

How do I sign up? I always end up finding obscure bugs in games--some of which are the kind of thing that shouldn't be posted in bug report forums, or anywhere public really. :x
I would love to help and test and find bugs on this game for a couple of reasons. One being I am a huge Star Trek since the original series and love everything about Star Trek and plus I have been playing Star Trek Online since the one year anniversary and have grown with the game as well and would love to keep growing with the game. So I hope I can be chosen to help this game grow even further
I would like to help out bug testing because I find lots of glitches in games that I can't really do anything with, so I would like to be able to find bugs and report/fix them. I have had experience before when moderating a server when I was to report all the bugs I found to the admins.
This sounds like an interesting proposition and I for one would be interested in getting involved.
I am a retired Computer Science lecturer and dealt mainly in software engineering and Game Design & Development. I have strong knowledge of both "black" and "white" box testing which should be helpful in carrying out some of the tasks required, and am fully aware of all the needs for NDA's having been involved in the alpha and beta testing of various online games.
This sounds interesting, I would like to be involved.
I have 3 years of game designing under my belt, mostly offline game designing, I have been coding since I was 10.
I have been involved in Alpha and Beta testing games and software for 6 years.
Okay Cryptic I'll bite. You put the offer on the table for me to help improve the game so I'm going to volunteer.
I don't really have anything particular in skills to offer other than I've got good problem identifying skills. To summarise, I've been here since open beta and play every day, an accolade hunter, completionist and always aiming to all the ships among other pursuits in game. I won't promise to find every bug but I may well find the odd ones that others may not particularly accolades which may get overlooked yet are important to some in the community that has a dedicated channel for them. I've reported bugs in the past but gave up when nothing seemed to be done about them so I'm here to try again and help you make a better game.

I am currently working in a position that requires me to perform trial-and-error testing, so I'm hoping this experience can be put to good use in STO!

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

I've played plenty of STO, so I know quite a few bugs. For example, look at the scale to my Samsar cruiser and @mrsupreme2's Tholian Widow: https://drive.google.com/a/herbertland.com/file/d/0B6vuApJHir6iTFZ5Q0h1ekRrenM/view

My guess is they'll want to give players at least a week to respond before they make any decisions/selections; only been ~4 days so far.
