Yeah. Free is always better than cheap. Wait. Is that a Rule of Acquisition? If it's not it should be. :)

Hmmmm, nope the closest is Rule of Acquisition 59 "Free advice is seldom cheap." It seems you think like a Ferengi, let's make that an unofficial Rule.

I'd like to suggest a Promellian battlecruiser replica for the next winter/summer event.

latinum is also toxic as shown by what it did to morn. But I imagine he has platinum I side gold then capped over his teeth. The idea is "just because it is expensive". Same reason people gold plate their cars today.

I see this as no different from how a lot of people have mercury in their dental fillings, which is also a toxic metal that is liquid at humanoid-standard room temperatures. The fillings aren't 100% latinum--they are some kind of alloy.

Also, this entry confirms why gold is as cheap as aluminum in the TNG-and-later era--it can be replicated easily, unlike Latinum.

It's probably going to be an escort with pilot seating (or a variant of an escort) based on the size of the windows and the fact its release closely follows the release of the pilot specialization ships.

Also based on the fact they call its class "warship" to hide the fact that it's an escort, since the last ship anyone wanted was ANOTHER escort. :P

It's a science heavy destroyer NOT an escort.

It's the Quark Tech™ "Reverse Thrust Escape Boosters" a slight flaw causes the ship to fly in reverse constantly. If you want to fly forward you have to reverse.

Latinum is a silver liquid. Doesn't seem like it would make a very good material for starship fittings.

*sigh* And shes right. Since its impossible that your metrics are good enough to detect the difference: I would totally prefer the grind for a Risa themed ship.

Are you kidding? The Nandi is basically a kitbash of the Ferengi Marauder. The warp nacelles, the snout, the winglets, the cargo section... it's all there.

Agreed on both sentences :) More Ferengi ships :D It needs its own console set as well as its own space set :P

The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.

It's not pretty and for some reason it looks like it's going TRIBBLE first.

But if the boff and console setup that's floating around is accurate it will be an interesting ship.

I love how they've recycled the original D'Kora.. Compressed it front to rear, split it into 3 sections along its length, kept the center section in place, flattened and flipped the outer 2 lengths 180, taken the cutaways and reshaped them into side pods for the weapon points and propulsion elements.. voila.. job done!

i was never a fan of the D'kora until i rolled a Ferengi Engineer, then i just had to have 1. it really grew on me after that, its still my favourite ship on that character, and now this.. The Nandi.. it is unmistakeably, without any doubt, a Ferengi ship. Cant wait to get it!

Every single ship in the Starfleet, Romulan or Klingon catalogues could be described the same way. Races tend to build all their ships around a common theme so they look similar. In fact Starfleets ships look a damn sight more similar than this does to the D'kora.. vastly so in fact. And I don't see people coming to the forums complaining about that.

as a free ship its okay. you can do some nice stuff there, just watch your boff seating:

pretty much tactic and pilot additionally - that means whenever you use lamda orengines to weapons you will block out your beta+delta+omega and faw+bo - so you might build that ship around cannons or "avoid" those pilotskills so you dont unecessary lock your tac comander out to uselessnes.

im planning to use hazard1 +squadron1+gravwell1 on the sci/pilot or maybe hazard+tycens1+squadron2 not sure yet.

what i most dislike is in fact the "doubling" part on the tac commander +1ens tac - its basically "to much tactic" cause i usually only use 4 skills ^^ (tacteam1,faw,spread and beta) now ill have either a 2nd tacteam or i may slot something for mines and use some decent tricobaltmines back (but those lock out my tric cluster so ... no need basically)

i would have liked if the one ens tac would have been converted into a ltcom eng instead or a 5/3 weapon layout.

but: the ship is okay. you can test some pilot abilities and its pretty decent. for a free ship and the fact that we dont have to grind 10times(for every char) anymore.

mostly im looking forward to retroactivly gaining my kobali cruiser layonhands like console for my deltatoon. he really misses it ^^

Depending on the stats and gimmicks I may just have to grind one of these puppies out and name it the Andy Pandy.

Those "in-lore" bits are mostly well written and a lighthearted pleasure to read. But I really wish the "Lobi consortium" wouldn't be a "lore" thing. It makes zero sense and should be treated as a gameplay mechanic.

Still, well written and funny bit :)

My Orion started packing her bags and planning out the decor for her new quarters as soon as they mentioned "throne" :)

Nice looking ship, even if it does look a bit like it's going in reverse in that image. Stats suit at least one of my characters and I love the ship trait, so I guess I'm going to be soaking up the sun for a few weeks.

First thought: yet another toy ship that kind of has some alright escort-like shapes.

Second look: impulse/warp trails are coming out the front.

RE: the T6 Trait, more instant immunities, as if there weren't enough such abilities, like subspace jump, instant rolls/jumps, instant hull heals, instant shield replenishment, instant expose vulnerability. It's becoming more like some FPS-in space game than one of space simulation involving that good balance of action, strategy, and planning ahead with available resources.

The ship isn't backwards. The warp trails are coming out of the correct end. Personally I like the design, and the material. Players have requested a gold pressed latinum hull material for a very long time.

Bottom line: if you don't like it then don't bother getting it.

I hope it comes with a special bridge. If not it's OK. I'll still get it regardless. :)

All the negative posts are just sooooo funny. Everyone making negative posts about the ship can I just clarify a few things.

      1. Thus far we only have a picture to go on.
      2. No ship stats have been released at the point of me posting this (these may come post post)
      3. None of us know how the ship will handle in battle because not one of us has it yet.

I think it is a fair comment to make. Until we have the ship to play with we should reserve judgment.

The look of a ship is secondary. If it does what it is suppose to do, looks don't factor.

Well yeah but we already have the stats courtesy of Tribble (doubt they're gonna change those in the next 2 days). So really all we lacked was a picture and knowledge of the interior at this point. Secrecy to try and create artificial excitement doesn't really work when secrecy can't be maintained.

      Destroyer mastery track
      "Greedy Emitters" trait
      Console "Metaphasic Solar Capacitor"
      4/4 weapons
      12 turn
      1.05 Shield Mod

      2 Eng Consoles
      4 Sci Consoles
      5 Tac Consoles

      Cmdr Tac
      LtCmdr Sci/Pilot
      Lt Sci
      Lt Eng
      Ens Tac
      Ens Uni

(Yes 6 seats, and no not my picture)

We already have all the info. Beating around the bush is just being obstinate.

what I wanna know..is can she mount cannons?
