What exactly are the specifics of the "Delta Vanguard Tech Upgrades"?
Was already planning on making a KDF Klingon Science officer [luv the ground melee dmg bonus]
and for personal clarification the "2x Delta Vanguard Tech Upgrades" are account-bound and received by getting any Delta recruit up to level 50 during or after the event so, if I created 5x Delta recruits they would each receive the "2x Delta Vanguard Tech Upgrades" giving me a total of 10x Delta Vanguard Tech Upgrades when they all reached level 50?
Depending on How much new interaction is needed on the missions should still be able to speed-level a character to 50 in 2-3 days at most and enjoy the XP boost on the rest of my alts as needed.
I know I will make a Ferasan Eng, debating making a Reman as well now.
Maybe I'll use my monthy stipend towards additional character slots, beyond the 1 free slot we get.
That or liquidate 2 Feds I have just turning in Contrabands, decisions decisions. I already have 14 toons, and will soon have 15, which is already kind of crazy.
See bottom of my sig your not even in Alts-Anonymous yet . :P
Roll a KDF! There are so many fun aspects to their gameplay.
I have a Gorn sci, a Ferasan tac, and a 1/2 Vulcan Eng mercenary working for the KDF. Don't Worry guys Ive done all I can to not play fed :P I also have Rom Tac and Sci and a Reman Eng.
That's like saying you're worried about increasing the mass of the sun...
Lol doesn't mean I have to like participating in the stupidity of it. :P The damned devs ignore KDF/Rom enough as it is w/o my 2 bits adding to the Fed bloat
i seen alot of rewards for up to level 50 what about 50-60 for the recruit?
They've been pretty clear from previous blog entries that the special rewards only run up to level 50. The event is only a few weeks long and the 50-60 slog can take a very long time.
I haven't really seen this confirmed in the posts to this point. Please accept my apologies if I've missed it:
Does the "account rewards" trigger once per Delta Recruit completing them or only once per character, period.
For example, if I roll 3 Delta Recruits, and get all 3 into a fleet, do I get 150 marks / 15,000 "fleet dil vouchers" per character (50/5,000 *3), or once a given character claims a "fleet reward pack" he can no longer do so?
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...
To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]
My question is about prior limited-time rewards, such as the Ambassador class and the dyson science destroyers....will these be made available to the Deltas?
(and yes, I know the Ambassador is a cstore unlock from the anniversary giveaways, it was an example)
This. Plus the traits are meh. The rewards for the delta recruit are honestly kind of meh. And the ground/space devices are meh. Sorry, in my opinion not worth grinding another character.
That's fine. This event isn't a requirement anyway.

I would go with a no here. I don't think it's about the ships anyway..

Lots of really good goodies. Here I was wondering if this event was gonna be worth the time and effort of training up another toon but some of those goodies, especially that ground device looks really worth the effort.
However questions:
Is that Photonic Engie Boff traited for space, ground or mix of both? Does he have any unique traits no other Boff has? Is he trained with a specialization?
Do those Space/Ground devices share a cooldown with anything?
If you can forgive the impudence of this question... Why no free special(Lockbox, Lobi, Event(Bound)) ships for the Delta Recruit? The Delta Recruit just missed the Samsar event ship and the goodies within. While I do have Zen store ships I can fly with her I'm just wondering.
Thanks for coming down here Borticus and spending many hours you could have spent working asking questions. I and I'm sure many of us appreciate it.

From the Blog:
Q: If I play through the game as multiple different Delta Recruits, will I receive multiple copies of the listed rewards?
A: No. Each account-wide reward is unlocked only once. Once unlocked, every character on your account may claim the associated reward a single time.
...These two Boffs are built using completely different costume/species methods. As such, they are totally unrelated to one-another. Allowing the Photonic-Sci to become customizable would be as much of an effort on its own, as creating an entirely new Boff...
Understood. Disappointing, but understood. Thanks for the reply.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
Q: What happens if I create a Delta Recruit, but do not complete all of the listed Tasks?
A: Once a Delta Recruit completes their special Tutorial and receives their Tesseract Communications Device they will be free to complete the assigned tasks at any point in the future. Although Delta Recruit characters can only be created while the event is running, there is no time limit on the completion of the tasks, or their associated rewards.
This. So much THIS.
A generous time gate to complete a tutorial, the rest at leisure. THANK YOU!
I don't really think this will in any way bring new and veteran characters that much closer. Not that the rewards aren't good - they are - but in the game's current state it's still a drop in the ocean when it comes to creating an efficient character. Not to mention, much of this is related to all the limited time/lockbox/lobi/event stuff that's hard/impossible to come by now (for example, one of the most OP ground weapons - Zephram Cochrane's Shotgun, or many lockbox traits).
That said, I'm really looking forward to this event. It's encouraging for both creating a new alt, and gaining some account-wide benefits. Even if I were to delete the character afterwards, or not play it at all, the benefits of experiencing the low-level content are too good to pass by. And I really miss that leveling experience sometimes.
Still... this event would be a great reason to introduce some new playable species, like the Sulibans. Would be a shame if this wasn't the case this thursday. I'd gladly pay for something new that isn't a Talaxian...
i'm crazy looking forward to this me and some buddies from work are all doing a new alt im going engineer and cruisers where ive been exclusively tactical till now. besides iv'e always wanted a nx-1 and who dosent want a galaxy and sovereign in their hangers. also going to give the new battlecruisers a shot.
but any chance you ditch the marks and give tech upgrades instead? or more dil? or ec? or frankly anything (i know marks can be turned into dil but its unnecessary, when you could just do dil).
also in general i'd like a way to turn marks in for ec in general play.
Yeah, okay. I was already in, I'm now definitely in.
I wish it included some more exclusive rewards, like a uniform (*cough* Enterprise MACO *cough*), console, weapon, or something like that, but these rewards seem really good. Being able to fully kit out a portion of your captain's loadout as you level up will be a HUGE advantage. I remember the attempt to gather all of my Mk X gear back when I hit 40 and didn't have a fleet to help me, it was a disaster.
Thanks for giving us a great opportunity to make new characters without having to spend a year to catch up to our "main" captains. This is a fantastic event!
For those wondering about Iconian information, there is at least one already implemented for everyone: When you play the mission with the Guardian of Forever, you have an additional question you can ask it with a purple delta symbol, which tells you Iconians didn't try to go back in time (and Sela gives you the reason in "Uneasy Allies").
In any case, it's some nice stuff. Not impressive, but still very cool.
I have a question: the blog said we get rewards for joining a fleet at level 30, but what happens if we join a fleet at an earlier level than that, say level 10? Will we still get the rewards when we hit level 30?

This all sounds very exciting. I might have to create another Klingon after all. But my first Delta recruit will definetly be a Fed.
Maybe I'll use my monthy stipend towards additional character slots, beyond the 1 free slot we get.

@Bort
Just to clarify, is the PBoffs only customizable in appearance or can his Traits be customize as well?
So with this new Delta Recruit, I could create a new Romulan "Delta Recruit" and still be able to play through the Virinat missions e.t.c

edit: Grinding argala for months is its own reward isnt it? /sarcasm
It's just a 1-50 event. Server XP will help but will have to wait a week I believe.

It's more than a month, Apr. 2 to May 21.
Just too limiting for me to use right now, so will most likely create a Lib Borg Romulan KDF.
Eclipse Class Intel Cruiser U.S.S. Dioscuria NX-91121-A - Interactive Crew Roster
My only question is,
Why would they limit this to a short time period like they do all events with the state this game is in?
Why not keep events like this open indefinitely to bolster recruitment?
OK, two questions, but I really don't need to be told what to play when.
Leave the game an open smorgasbord and they would have to do less work on new events.
Remove ALL time gating from the game, just because other companies do it doesn't make it at all welcome or smart, be progressive.

Down with the dil refine cap! xD

KDF Tac
Fed Rom Engi or Tac
and Fed Tac
(I have no tactical toons, and want to clear the content quickly lol.)
Once I finish all the Delta Recruits stuff I will have another toon stuck at MK X and Level 50?
This would not be closing the gap between my "main" and the new Delta Recruit really as intended from reading the blog.
