    Liberated Borg Pakled - 17 of 9

The only drone to ever be liberated by the Borg Queen herself.

His most famous quote; "Geordi helped make us go, but toilets helped make us not go all over the floor."

Actually though, even with 17 characters I have never made a human.

He will be a science oriented Tac but the problem I have will be with a name.

The other day I kept coming up with names and when I went to Google them I found that there were real people already by those names, and I tried a lot of names.

Real people are OP, please nerf.

Maybe I should try an aliengen Hirogen, but then I would need to get their unique ships and that would cost lots of.......oh well played.
I realized a while ago that most names have already been used somewhere, so I don't bother looking.

In response to the naming issue...

One of my characters is a human in the Romulan Republic. In her biography I have the first and last name filled out as Valerie Brooks, but her displayed name is Viera. Reason? Pre-Hobus she was a captive of a Romulan and worked for him as a servant. He decided that she needed a "less Human" name and shortened her first name into something that wouldn't raise as many pointy eyebrows.

Get a little creative and don't be too serious about it is what I'd say.

Well... I've got 6 characters, 2 of each career, one Romulan, and one KDF...

Hm... thinking of trying a Vulcan with the Delta Recruit, but haven't decided on Tac, Engie, or Sci yet. Also... female redhead Vulcan maybe? :D

2 of my characters are redheads already. I just like redheads. :D

Romulans can use allied faction ships for Tier 1-4 but NOT Tier 5 or 6. You cannot get them for free using your promotion tokens, but you can get them by any other method (including the Ambassador-class episode reward).

For Tier 5 and 6 you would be stuck with Romulan and lockbox/lobi/event ships.

Although Fed Romulans can get the T5 Ambassador retrofit

At the moment, thinking an Engineer in command of Escort ship or Tactical in command of Cruiser. Yet to decide on race, but either Andorian or Bolian. Also thinking about Reman KDF aligned, as I have a free spot available. Thinking tact.

Dil can be traded between characters via the Dilithium Exchange.
Lobi is account bound and can be traded via account bank.
EC can also be traded via account bank.

Federation Klingon Tactical Officer. (Or maybe an Alien-gen half Klingon/half Human Tactical officer.)

I've already got a Human Engineer, a Joined Trill Science Officer, and a Liberated Borg Tactical Officer, but I think Worfin' it sounds most appealing to me.

Not really interested in KDF or Romulan Republic. Have alts there too, but far, far more Federation C-Store ships and a Defiant-like build for a T5-U Blockade Runner in mind after I unlock some starship traits.

Jack Harkness, a freelance toon Ive been wanting to create for a while (rp freindly!) he'd be fed eng but not Starfleet (he remains the leader of the Torchwood Archive), he'd fly a Hazari Destroyer (cause it's sleek and black) and call it the T.A.D. (Torchwood Archive Destroyer) Rose Tyler. This guy will be lots of fun!!:cool:

I haven't nailed down which faction or race I'll be using for my delta recruit. I had enough lobi kicking around that I picked up a temporal jumpsuit for the new character because I would like the character conception to homage Daniels and Enterprise. I will probably keep it simple and choose a human (Daniel's described himself as, "mostly human" so an alien might be an appropriate choice as well). Sad as it is this character will be aligned with the Feds. This isn't a throw away character so I'm looking at a big picture where the support and ships will be coming down the pipes in game. That's the Federation. I'd be happy to make more KDF characters to add to my existing ones if Cryptic will release some solid KDF content but I don't see it happening. I don't like Romulans enough to make any more.

    Alien/Vaadwaur.

The idea of running around as a "Delta Recruit" who's actually one of the latest "Baddy" races amuses me, and that'll help hold my interest through this event. I've been playing with the character creator and have a pretty good rendition of the head, although the neck is problematic. Luckily, I've already picked up the Vaadwaur costume, and the helmet will cover all the flaws. I've also picked up one of the Vaadwaur escorts to give her (yes, it'll be a her, I think...) but what to fly until she can use it...?

That actually brings up the question I have not answered yet: Fed, KDF, or Rom? I really dislike First City, so I think if I go KDF, it'll have to be a Rom/KDF, but either way, I own several Fed CStore ships and none for KDF or Rom, aside from a couple that were given away and the LTS ships, but since I plan on flying that escort anyways... ?!? What to do, what to do? I'm kind of leaning towards Rom/KDF, mostly because most of my toons are Fed, except for a KDF/Orion and a Rom/Fed, and want some variety.

As to profession, the 2 toons I play the most are Eng's. I really like the toys on the ground and the survivability in space. Do I stick with that, or do I compound my expanding horizons on this toon and go completely off script. Thing is, the more things I do differently, the more chances there are I'll turn this into a toon I won't enjoy. Then again, staying safe and making my "comfortable" Fed/Eng toon doesn't feel very... Vaadwaurish.

There may be MORE federation ships, but 85% of them are totally useless. We may not have as many ship types in the Klingon Defense force, but ours are better. The reason Craptastic gives the fed commies so much is the brainless jump right into fed characters without considering the actual greatness of the Klingons.

One, I'm not going to take that brainless comment personally but it's a crappy thing to say over what amounts to free time preference.

Two, I only like two KDF starships though. The B'rel and the D-7s.

And while 85% of the Federation vessels may be of dubious design/value, the other 15% are pretty awesome. (Assault Cruiser, Vesta, Avenger, Tempest, Blockade Runner, Phantom, Eclipse, and the new T-6 Command battlecruisers just to name a few which I already own.)

I like several individual Klingons and their traditions, (Word, Martok, Kor to name a few.). But like Ezri Dax, I think the Empire is horribly corrupt and should die.

I have 1 FED Tac, 1 FED Eng and 2x FED Sci, 1 KDF Tac, 1 KDF Eng and 1 KDF Sci, 1 Rom Sci and 1 Rom Eng which I want to delete but can't since that character carries a giantic load of items in the inventory and mail system which is worth too much.

None of my Chars is beyond rank 52 since I have not found time to play. 1 FED Sci is even below rank 50. I created that char to make a PvP Sci but I had not time to grind. The other 3 FED Chars are more or less trash chars which I created during or after Beta. I did not play for gear or perfection.

My Klingon chars are more for PvP but I lack on gear and time to grind it.

With the exceptions to my FED and KDF Engis. They are PvP worthy .... at least when the STF Sets were regarded as best (MACO and Honor Guard stuff - except of Borg Weapons but they were enough).

My romulan Sci will probably be converted to a Sci-Tac mix after I realized the -40 Power penalty and lack of nice Sci ships ^^

I have no reason and no idea for creating a new character, but I guess I want that boni so I have to make a new one. I plan to delete him or lay him aside after the event is over.

Maybe I should create another KDF or Romulan Character to boost the KDF playerbase .... but I am not the biggest fan of the klingon content.

What about a romulan Eng. Is it worth it?

Vaadwaurish.
So, I've been playing around a bit. The part of my plan that I didn't mention is that I plan on crafting all thegear for this toon and supplying Superior Tech Upgrades and some Dil to use them with. This in itself has been a process. One aspect of all this setup ahead of time is that all that stuff takes up a LOT of inventory space. I decided to make a toon, just to hold onto all the extra junk. While I was at it, I decided I could move all the "reject" gear onto this new toon and sell it on the exchange. 40 slots on the exchange isn't a lot of space if you are crafting piece after piece, trying to get the right mods, after all...

So, I set up my KDF/Rom Alien and got ready to pull all the gear off my account bank, stow what I'm keeping and sell the rest. Oops... apparently, the exchange (at least the one in the Flotilla) is stuck behind Level 10. So, I set off leveling my little mule toon...

I really like it! I think, as long as they don't completely TRIBBLE up the whole Delta Recruit thing, I'm really going to enjoy playing with the new toon I have planned.

I might not even hate Tovan Khev.

What race/career have I chosen for Delta Recruit? Oh, heck, I dunno. I've been playing so long that at one point, prior to Legacy of Romulus, I had over 20 characters and deleted a quarter of them to try and trim things down... When LoR launched I created three new ones so that now I have 16 characters, in such variety that I have at least one of each career in each faction, and a couple more besides.

Looking at my character speadsheet (yes, I keep a file to track them), I have the fewest Romulan Republic characters, and all three of them are really sort of "theme" characters, that are married to T5 ships (for example I have a Tal Shiar-themed character who's crew wear TNG-era checker-board uniforms and fly a D'deridex).

That's a Tac Romulan, KDF Aligned. Then I have two Fed aligned: LibBorgRom Sci in a Adapted Khnial class and Reman Eng in a Scimitar. All three ships are retrofitted, fleet, T5U upgraded, best possible for their types, but that's it. And I really don't want to break their themes for a T6 ship.

So, I suppose I'll go with the Green Faction. Make it KDF-aligned. Romulan or Reman? Hmm... Not sure, I wish there were more races to chose from. I guess I'll probably go Alien, since that's the fourth option I don't have for Roms. Min-Maxing tells me I should roll a tac, but I'd hate to do another Tac; I've got lots of those. So maybe an Eng? That's what I have fewest of overall.

I dunno... My hearts just not in it... I'll have to think about it.

I know one of the characters I will make will be tactical Romulan (maybe Romulan alien) aligned with the KDF, since I have one already aligned with FED. I am still undecided with the other one. Main reason I'm doing this is because I can use the Faeht Intel warbird with him or her.

I'm deleting one of my longest existing characters so I can have 2 characters for the event. I don't know what race I'll have for the second character.

Going Alien / Eng ... not sure on faction yet but leaning towards either ROM/KDF or pure KDF.

Of course, I'm secretly hoping they might open up races from the opposite faction or new races for the event. THAT would be cool and then all bets would be off.

Part of what's going into my decision is if I think they are more likely to introduce more KDF ships going forward or more Romulan. (We already know there will be a gazillion FED ships.)

I will do a joined trill for the nice toxic and radiation resistance.

It will be a federation side so I get the ship traits from all the T6 ships I got in last expansion (Klingon and Romulans really got shafted in that expansion :( ).

It will be an engineer since I love play engineers, even if tactical is faster to play though content.

If there is any new optional races that might change my choice of race, if it is a nice looking race with good bonuses. :P
