They just opened up the new Delta Quadrant. So there is a lot of NPC ships to make. I'm sure many of those will end up for purchase as well. Either by C store or Lockbox. There is still more ships to be made for our current factions. Romulan still needs some Sci ships. KDF still needs a few ships in the Sci section as well. And they still have some ships from the Federation that hasn't showed up yet. That was featured at some point. Then they could redress some ships to give a more current look. There is a lot they can still do.

With my current ships I have on my characters. It will have to really catch my attention before I try to get it.

At this point, I might enjoy seeing the game going down in blazes more then actually playing it.
It's just sad given how compassionate I once was about playing STO.

X2 better be good. Cap increase - if done wrong (by what I mean the Cryptic-way) would just be pulling the trigger of that gun Geko points at STO's head.

This is besides the point. This is the same argument I made on the TOR forums before launch - The Devs don't need to post on the forums because they use a completely unrelated third party application that you may or may not use. If you do, great, you can keep up with what the devs are saying, if you can't tough. I'm one of those who does not twit, so if I want to see any developer updates about this game that I play, I can only just hope that someone will comment on it on here, because the devs won't post it on here.

These are the official STO forums. Why do the devs go to Twitter before here? Or even, why isn't there a feed on this site that reflects the devs' twitter account?

Sorry, but that is just lazy development by STO's webmasters

They should do a horizontal progression, instead of this vertical progression they keep adding. Add more captain skills, add in more unique ship effects to specific models (ie tractors etc) when doing X progression etc.

Constant vertical progression gets tiresome after a while

Yes, I agree with this. We don't need a level cap increase. Provide other ways for us to increase our power levels (and I don't selling ships with OP consoles in the C-Store. That doesn't count).

I would prefer they worked on a LOT of fun story missions for the next expansion. My main has their ship and it works just fine. Thanks!

I don't really agree...while KDF does have ships they have no options...unlike Feds who can really do anything with any class of ship.

KDF has no options when it comes to Escorts/Raptors...they're all basically the same. They have no options for Science really unless you want to buy the unliked DSD...

Well, you have the Karfif , its the only science ship with 4 forward weapons and a commander science station... lol. Not all science is lost in the KDF. And this is one of the reasons the Karfi is one of the best carriers of the game. And it is from the KDF side.

Sarfleet is oriented to science, it always been that way. Romulans arent. So this is the main reason you cant have real "science" ships in the romulans. I hope this answer your question, if not, i give up.

That's news to me. So I guess we are removing all the Fed escorts and cruisers?

Seriously, your statement is ridiculous. I don't even know if you are just trolling. Even our beloved Geko (sarcasm) stated on multiple occasions that the Romulans can get a Vesta equivalent when Cryptic finds the time to do it.

Of course that could take a century or two. But there is no general restriction for Romulans to get science vessels.
Even in the series, Romulans have science vessels. Actually, they already have some science centric ships in STO.
I just would like to see the teased Vesta equivalent.

Well, you can theme it like that. But then it should read at the romulan front door: "Don't chose "science" as your character profession, since you won't have real science ships." Sux to notice that at Level 50 ...

The KDF still lacks any sort of response to the Federations 5 tact console escorts. And the lack of fleet ships that others have pointed out. No one is asking for a thousand ships, just one or two to give us at least some illusion of choice.

You forget being a science toon has nothing to do with your ship.. sometimes newbies are confused by that. You will probably will lose a science commander station, but there are tons of ships with lt. comander science station. When you select a faction, you need to be aware they are different, they have their pros and cons. People always seem to forget this. If you have a pure oriented science toon and ship, pick the feds, period. Because someone that likes to dps and to just fire weapons will always pick most of the times the kdf or the romulans. People who likes to mix dps and science will probably choose federation. People who likes diplomacy will chose federation, people who likes marauding will chose the kdf. This is a videogame, and the decisions you make are not useless, you need to live with em lol. Precisely this is one of the things i like the most of the game, its not the same by far to playing with a federation ship, than playing with a romulan one. And i like it. If we could have a pure science romulan ship, it will be so power creeped that it will be stupid. A pure science ship with singularity powers and a battle cloak?? ow.. really..?

    bull****

Are you making this up as you go or do you use some elaborate script?

Romulans and no science... go watch some TNG. Do you think starships are falling from the skies btw? Every interstellar warp culture has elaborate science. Except maybe the frickin' Pakleds.

And as stated above: Cryptic is already thinking about a Romulan Vesta equivalent. So all your ramblings are worth nothing.

Sadly the "Vesta equivalent" seem to be the Dyson Science Destroyers, not a unique Romulan design.

Ugh... that would be terrible... but I guess it could be true.
Even if it wasn't planned out like that, Geko can always fall back on arguing that the Dyson ship is the promised Romulan science vessel.

I doesn't even look that bad. I just would like a true Romulan ship, without Solanae aesthetics. And I believe I am not alone.
The problem is as Starfleet was Engineering and Klingons were Tactical, Romulans end up being Tactical as well, the mainline of Romulan ships should been Science based instead we end up with Tactical Warbirds because Cryptic instead of solving the issue of disparity of Tactical/Engineering/Science will rather make it WORST.

At last a reasonable statement concerning this affair. Thank you.

Actually when it comes to ships I find there is a certain level of enjoying new ships passively.
I like to see them around, even if I never intend to use one.
I've never bought a C-Store escort for instance, but I like seeing Tempests around in game.

The other nice thing is lately the foundry has benifitted from Lock Box vessels. We can now have proper Hirogen Vessels instead of using Generic looking alien ships.
Not everyone will care about that, but I juts wanted to point out that the introduction of the artwork for these vessels contribute to the games aesthetic and allow better use of specific enemy vessels and freindly NPCs
