    Well. There are two people here that play STO, and one of us is in the game. This person is not me. lol. I also am unable to get past the Black "CRYPTIC" screen. However, I am listening to the fact that it isn't occurring to everyone, as she(yes, a woman plays the game.. lol) is totally doing her dailies.

    Ya not sure what it is. Yesterday I couldn't get on using my laptop at all, but my desktop worked fine. Now my desktop isn't working at all, but haven't checked my laptop.

    Edit: let it sit on the Cryptic logo for a few minutes eventually got this.

    "Fatal Error: Unable to initialize on-demand patching and connect to Patch Server: The connection was idle for too long".

    Though I also don't have on-demand patching on, so I guess it just means issues with the patch server in general.

    Edit again:
    Can tracert easily to the patch server, and pinging it all the traffic gets through. So I'm really not sure what that error message is on about.

    Well with the defaults automatically being set to defaults i continue to crash. After getting past legacy of Romulus screen. For some reason its blocking the prompt that state would you like to play with lowered graphics. So if there was a way out of game to change the setting to be lower instead of having to be in the game already would most likely allow most of us to get In.

    Having the same problem as everyone else. Crashing right after "Legacy of Romulus" screen. Hope they fix it soon. Was out of town for a few days and was really looking forward to playing when I got home

    Another Order veteran reporting in for the vigil. Error code 30189532. This will be my fourth campaign ribbon.

    I was already having a really crappy day, and this just puts the poo-flavored icing on the crapcake.

    I'm in the same boat.

    I get the Cryptic loading screen, then the Legacy of Romulus screen and then it goes to a black screen, a couple of seconds later there's a beep (the ingame noise when you click on buttons such as skills, traits etc)
    It works on a Windows 8 but I'm having trouble with a Windows 7 PC

    IF an unexpected bug had affected some players and they couldn't prioritize corrective measures I would be unhappy but understanding.

    MY chief objection is that they were aware of this bug from reports on the tribble server AT LEAST a month prior to release of season 9 on holodeck. They chose to release on schedule with no apparent effort to fix the issue, no apology to the customers affected, not even any indication they have any intention to work on the issue at all.

    At the very very least it would be nice if cryptic gave some indication from their reports what the common denominator was.. IE what type of systems are being affected. Since we seem on our own as a community to come up with any work around.. knowing who/what was affected might give us some idea of what we might could try to fix or at least work around the problem.

    After a crash when I try a restart I get the verify files procedure. After it finishes it gives me a pop up with start the game with lower graphic or default settings...tried both, neither work. Also in top right corner click on options and put start in safe mode...no dice either.

    I am still unable to sign in past the black "CRYPTIC" screen. it goes to a fatal error after a few minutes. It seems that it could be which version of windows is being used, as i am using 7, and am unable to sign in. Another puter, running windows 8 is signed in. I do not have enough computers to test any further..

    I do not use steam so there is no steam cache file to delete. I found STO cache files under where the exe is, but i didnt delete anything cuz i have no idea what i am doing there. lol.

    ok i havent even seen an error code so no idea but i dont even get as far as you guys when i cdt. i get to the very first screen after the launcher and then nothing till it times out. of course that was before i stupidly uninstalled my game thinking i needed to reinstall it, now the launcher wont launch so i dont even get that far anymore. guess i am doomed to never play sto again. (i even tried downloading it on steam and it seams i killed my steam program doing it, nice huh) oh and to the guy saying its the version of windows being used, im 8.1 and couldnt sign in so if 8 is fine 8.1 isnt

    seriously? one of them said "version of windows" hahahahahaha... ohhhh that's just so full of TRIBBLE.

    there are people with radeon cards playing, and there are people without not playing. Yes, Radeon is a common denominator, but it's not the only thing not working.

    i went to where STO is installed, which on mine is in public under games. There is a file called cef_cache. I renamed it cef_cache01. This caused STO to make a new cef_cache file, and i was able to log in.

    Renaming cef folder didnt help. still the same.

    I am also having this issue. it crashes as soon as it gets to the graphics setting page after the Legacy of Romulus page, and it happens every time..... 9 year old computer

    To all of you I say Welcome and Welcome back for those who have been here before. Grab a chair we are in this for the long haul.

    I will check back in a month. It might be working by then. Not getting my hopes up though. :P
