Well, i have hungry small fleet project mouths to feed, so this sort of thing is a must for me to do.

However, while I'll be sitting at my computer for a long time running this on 15 toons, I'll not be spending any zen until someone at Cryptic figures out how to vary the grinding pace properly instead of having it stuck in 'gofaster' gear and 'goevenfaster' gear.

Is the mission going to be full co-op like the old Mirror Invasion, or competitive rewards like Minefield or CE?

Sigh. Its another copy/paste, unoriginal version of fleet defense.

I like the rewards I just dont like how these devs keep being escort-centric in their design.

    Key points:

1- 'power me up' locations located far apart and you must rush between them to have a chance at winning.

Gee... guess which ship class is fast enough to pull that off?

2- Must kill things QUICKLY and at different spawn locations located far apart. Its issue #1 combined with a big 'FU' to science ships and which only the lt cmdr tac capable cruisers can pull off.

3- You can bet your rear end it will be dps-based rewards no different than so many other maps.

Its funny to see this company can't get it through their thick heads that ESCORTS are only one of the three ship classes in this game.

How hard is it to merely drop in a few mirror ships (in waves) that are extraordinarily hard to kill because of their resists, self-healing, firepower and massive hitpoints (think borg queen)? Ships that will be very hard to simply dps down..that require the cruisers to tank them, science ships to debuff them and escorts to slam damage into a weak shield facing?

Your bad, if I had a PC at my regular disposal right now, I'd be so gone when star citizen launches...
I will admit that "Star Citizen" has a visual appeal. I am mostly interested in offline rpgs such as: "Dragon Age", "Neverwinter Knights II", "BioShock", "FallOut" and "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic". I like games with long storyarchs, intense customization, and endless choices. "Star Trek: Online" is so primitive compared to its offline counterparts. Its so aggravating.

Where did the "Star Trek" sense of fun and adventure go?

Grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind, stop for 20 hours, grind,...

What the heck is all that about?

I'm just going to chime in with the choir here and repeat that this mission needs to stay after this 'special event'. Take down the 'special' rewards and just give normal everyday ones and keep the map.

Seriously Cryptic, I don't know who makes the decisions but lately you've started making decisions that defy even common sense and basic logic. I really think you need to think things through seriosuly.
You've made a new altered MU with a new map? Great. Why don't give people the opportunity to play it? It will be one plus mission that we could play, it can only add value to the game, it will add one more option.
All the trouble you went through to make this mission and then take it down after 3 weeks? I don't understand you guys, really I don't.

Any chance we can get the 3 piece set bonus for the 10,000 Zen Science Destroyer pack to work? The Solanae Advanced Technology 3 piece set does not lower the cool-downs for the consoles to 2 minutes - they stay at 3 no matter what. - Sorry wrong forum - would still like it fixed though.

My biggest concern about this is actually that it will conflict with the Foundry weekend, which I do NOT want to miss. Reputation marks for running Foundry missions is the best idea I've seen since Season 8.5 launched, and I don't want to miss it.

There's enough buffer that you could neglect Mirror during all 5 days of the Foundry Weekend and still have two "spare" days.

But given the 3-week spans of Special Events like this, we're just going to have to get used to them overlapping with a Weekend Event every time. It'll always be overlapping someone's favorite Weekend Event.

(Putting aside whether Weekend Events are a good idea or not.)

I just hope it doesn't take so much interest away from Foundry Weekend that the Great God Metrics declares Foundry Weekends uninteresting to the players. Nothing to be done about it now, though. :(

    This looks really amazing :D

When you do it again with a different reward like you did the CC you should give us the I.S.S./A.R.W./A.K.S. prefix and skin for any ship :)

However, the Terran Empire launches one final assault, sending one of its special modified dreadnoughts through.

I wonder if the Terran Empire gave their dreadnought a Lt.Commander Tac station. :P
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

This is the last thing we needed to see in order to get a total value judgement on the loss of daily events. With regards to XP, it's a disaster, every day people could make hundreds of thousands in XP thanks to the old mirror event, now you have a whole weekend once every few months where double digit xp rewards get doubled. The worst loss here isn't for those power leveling, leveling was already easy enough, it's fulfilling the ridiculous XP requirements of rep grinding and rep items. Iv'e had characters go through the entire story, do doff missions, STF's, and only had enough XP leftover to get about 6 Omega pieces of gear. This is before any other reputation systems had begun.

Hakeev is pretty funny, but he sounds like a terrible DOFF though, there are already two astrometric purples free from the nebulas, and 3 KM passives do jack all.

This past bonus xp event I created my 32 toon just to see how quickly I could level it - and it was onlya few hours. Sadly or perhaps gladly this will be one of the 22 that never makes it anywhere near finished the rep system. In 3 days I will complete the rep system fully on my 10th toon - all fed - and it will be the last(some are probably thinking I am nuts for running 10 toon's completely through the rep system:eek:)

I had intended to finish the rep system on 4 of my 8 KDF toons, but after the removal of the bonus hours I have almost completely given up on all of them - with less and less kdf in the Q's then I have ever seen - what's the point in having leveled kdf?? I have all but given up on pvp. So this event is another meaningless piece of content for me. With all 9 of my fleetmates that built our T4 base now gone and having millions in refined dilithium, all that is left for me for fun in this game is doffing - which gets about the same updates as the kdf - been a long time since they came out with new interesting doff chains - now they just released OP doffs that increase ship power creep and act as 'i win' buttons - such a shame.

The removal of the daily bonus event hour is the worst thing they have done in a long time - they could have left it and added the special every other weekend events.

Actually, we did think about the various ship classes. Science vessels have an advantage when closing portals (they close them faster) and cruisers have an advantage when powering up stations (they power them up faster). And since you get a bonus for the health of the starbase, heals also benefit your team. In fact, I think you will find there are many strategic advantages to science vessels and cruisers in this map.

A couple pieces of feedback already:

    1) Please keep the queue around. I think more options is better than fewer for things to do in STO.

    2) Bring this queue's Expertise reward in line with the old Mirror Universe's expected Expertise. I know a lot of players, including other Devs, used to rely on the MU to get the Expertise they needed for either BOFF training (after Level 50) or to level while playing something challenging for that player's level (below Level 50).

I was excited...until I read that only lvl 50 players can do it.

I guess I can forget starting a new character to play this game even longer by leveling up faster. Hope Cryptic enjoys less players in their game!

I saw that as well. Cryptic want their players here to spend more money, new players may not spend money at all.

Okay, surprising actions aside, a few questions:

    1) I see Obisek's back in the saddle again. Yay. Is he going to be voiced?

    2) I have to mirror (HA!) a question asked earlier: is this coming back for good or will the map disappear once the event's over?

    3) Seeing as it's a Romulan-based mission, do we get Romulan marks here?

    Obisek is voiced.

The map will disappear when the event is over.

You can choose what kind of marks you want.

I think the dev's need to reconsider keeping the map around after the event is over...kinda of like CE is still around.

That's actually some great news. Great news indeed! :) Having missions that work differently for the ship classes and each has advantages/disadvantages is a wellcomed adition.

Which brings me to the next point, and since you seem to be active in the thread I'm going to bother you with that quantummeerkat. :D Please relay to the rest of the team that we'd very much like to have this new mission availible for regular rewards after the special event ends. Especially if it's tailored differently for the various ship classes, I love to play missions like that.

this new mirror event sounds like fun for only 3 week limited amount of time. what star trek online need is more stf's then just only the borg stf. this new mirror would have been a good chance to introduce and new type of stf that is not a borg stf that stay around even after the new mirror event is over with rewards similar to the current borg/ rom stf/rep or the dystern reps.

at the end of a step between the star starfleet/kdf/rom republic all wanted to take puck shots at each other in battle so why not have this new mirror event be turned into a prime univere starfleet/kdf/rom republic to fight the mirror starfleet/klingons/romulans as a stf that stick round with standard rewards while also offering special event sometimes for special rewards?

    BeQueues. (Pun most certainly intended)

In all honesty the Queue is getting very overloaded, and many of the missions there are already underplayed or not played at all. Adding another mission to that already bloated list would be a bad move.

Instead, I hope that Cryptic gets enough of these events going so there's one running all the time, and they will be continually removed and replaced by other event missions. I think that's what Cryptic is going for.

To the Devs, a question: What would encourage you to keep the queue around past the 3-week event? The event should be what makes this special, and it's been done twice before (CEE queue and Risa Summer resort map).

Sounds like it'll be a blast at any rate.

What's the point of removing it?
I mean I get that those special rewards make sense as a temporal thing (although I don't like that fact) but the why not keeping the map arround (especially since it offers a nice possibilities to finally get romulan marks more regularly like nukara out of the crystalline event)
