Oh yes romulans have it bad in this game. Almost every ship is at least a hybridized tac ship with built-in battle cloak that DOESNT have to be slotted as a console. Please tell me more about how Romulans are getting screwed
And the reason there will be a fleet galaxy-x is because there is no galaxy-x 3 pack where each ship in that pack is an endgame level ship and has a slight leaning to eng sci and tac variants like the Vesta, scimitar, odyssey, and bortasqu. It IS in fact a 3 pack of a captain level ship, and 2 COMPLETELY SEPARATE end game ships.
I love when ppl cry btw. Your tears are the sustenance that give me strength
Ok I'm a little but cheezed.
Is Cryptic meaning to say..."let's not just beef up the Fed Dred with saucer sep, console set bonuses, phaser lance, AND a hangar bay...but let's slap all those extra bonuses on the already more retardedly powerful FLEET version as well"????
Where the frig is the fleet version of the Scimitar??
Why not put another fancy gun on the Scimitar too?
I mean geeze, you have to have 3 consoles on the blasted ship just to use thalaron pulse...an easy-to-escape-cuz-it-takes-10-seconds-to-fire-shotgun. And no separating sections that effectively allow twice as many guns at your disposal.
I only gripe because I've been pining away...waiting for a fleet version of the ship...but now they are releasing an bunch of upgrades to already jacked tank.
I guess Santa only delivers to the Feds cuz Roms/Rems don't believe in him.
The Gal? Sure give it a revamp but the Dread?....*sighs* Really? Fine whatever...let people f us people who cant afford it...but in all seriousness...they better give KDF a cloaking carrier
I think the BOFF change is weak sauce. The Galaxy R should get the universal ensign. The Galaxy X should get the universal lt. commander or even commander to make it interesting.

I personally just want some type of Romulan science vessel that's not the Dyson one. I think an Arc Warbird would really work.
This is COMEDY GOLD - A Scimitar Captain ranting because of a Galaxy!!!! ROFLMAO :P
Speaking as a fledgling Scimitar captain...when I use the Dyson set and the Scimitar console set on the IRW Scimitar (yeah, my Scimitar is called the Scimitar), I can use the thalaron supergun without being killed while taking aggro from a tac cube in an elite Borg STF.
Scimitars are OP, and we all love 'em that way. A galaxy will NEVER beat a scimmy in a fair 1v1 fight.
Granted the "adjustments" wasn't what everyone wanted. But at least they did look into the ships and did this. The new set will help by making them even tougher, plus you can turn a little faster. Then they did fix the saucer so it will look like your ship when it does separate. Even making the X do it as well. Plus offering the Bundle allows others who hadn't bought it, or new players a cheaper way to get the ships. Myself is one of them. I was about to buy the Galaxy R or X. And the bundle is a lot cheaper going that route.
I wanted the R more tactical, but I'm at least glad they did work on the ships some. They could just left them alone.

I saw this Dev blog come up, so excited and loudly said "FINALLY!" for the Galaxy-X was going to be change...only to be completely disappointed in the end.
It STILL has the ridiculously-slow turn rate, leaving cannons to still be useless.
The BOFF layout is laughable (Ohhhh an Ensign Universal! Cause having just a SINGLE Lieutenant Tac station makes it SOOO overpowered apparently!)
I don't care for Saucer Seperation (especially since it doesn't even come with it).
Seriously, with what all the other Dreadnoughts have compared to this one, THIS was the result of the rev-amp!?
I've said this before, I'll say it again: All the stats from The Avenger should have just been put on the Galaxy X and leave it at that!
Changing the Tactical Ensign into an Universal doesn't help the Dreadnought one bit.
Both Galaxy Dread and Refit are still among the most underwhelming ships in STO, slow, slow turning with little firepower and few tactical abilities.
There are tons of way better cruisers and dreadnoughts out there by now, slapping a shuttle hangar onto the ship is really the cheapest way to supposedly "fix" a bad ship.
Look all of the changes are welcome, and I'm cool with them they are an improvement, but let's be honest. The Galaxy-X is a warship. Every true cruiser warship gets a Lcdr Tactical slot.
You have the Excelsior. You have the Excelsior Retrofit. Lcdr Tac slot.
You have the assault cruiser. You have the Assault Cruiser Refit. Lcdr Tac slot.
So you have the Galaxy. You have the Galaxy-X Retrofit. But no Lcdr Tac slot.
You can't build the ship around the Phaser lance and ignore the other weapons like they don't need the boost. The Galaxy-X needs the Lcdr Tac slot to measure up. You need at least that to use the dual cannons that it can use effectively, and you need at least that to get the most out of the beams. I don't understand the resistance to this.
I can make up for the speed, with Cruiser Commands, and proper consoles. There's no way to make up for the tac boff deficiency.
As for the hangar the main shuttlebay on the Galaxy is huge and then it has two smaller ones. It could qualify for two hangars truthfully, but one works fine as the Galaxy isn't designed as a carrier like the Akira.

Realistically none of the 24th century ships shown in canon can beat a Scimitar in a straight fight. Maybe a Negh'var, but I doubt it.

Yup. The only times I die is when I mess up a powerslide or activate the wrong power. Setting off the thalaron gun without secondary shielding/the 4-piece basic Dyson active ability is NOT fun.
Although, I love slapping a tractor beam on Donatra and saying "SUCK THALARON!!!!!" in chat. Suboptimal or not, it's tons of fun.
Nice to see you're revamping old ships, but you're revamping the wrong ones. Where is the improvements to the Bird of Prey's we were promised. Currently they are fairly useless at end game when compared to Federation Escorts and Romulan Warbirds.

im a fed player but i got to say overkill on this ship. i mean ******n a hanger really a hanger the sovereign should of gotten that!!! all that power the galaxy has it could of share bit of it :I.
but i wouldnt stress on it
1. it can be subjected to change or
2. just like how every fed player creamed for it. KDF and ROMS will rant to get it nerfed
oh and also (IM ABOUT TO RANT RIGHT NOW) were the HELL the fleet Gurumda at  it is the counter part for the galaxy if i recalled .i mean if your gonna Chuck Norris the galaxy Bruse Lee the the Guramda then make that bad boy put the galaxy in its place again

I am Klingon ... I think this ship needs a LTCMDR universal boff slot.
Hanger? ... ::: shrugs
A warship right now this one is not.
The Dominion Dreadnought carrier could blow it out of the stars before that lance could even land its first shot.
The pressing question I have is, can you drop the third nacelle in the ship tailor?
Because $40 for the bundle is not a bad deal when you factor everything in, but I've always hated that 3rd nacelle and it's probably going to be a deal-breaker for me.
Or maybe I'll wait for a sale... Or maybe I'll throw in another $10 and get an Oddy bundle instead... decisions, decisions...
Considering that the third nacelle is the most prominent design feature of the Galaxy-X, I doubt it'd be removable at all.
The updates to the Galaxy ships are very disappointing.
Don't get me wrong, any "fixes" to existing content is great. The only thing I can think of as to why this update is so underwhelming is that Cryptic didn't want the sales of their other C-Store items to be affected much by this, so basically this is just an update to say that they have addressed the Galaxy "issue".
That itself is disappointing as the Galaxy, being as iconic as it is, should have been given better attention than what it has even with the update.
I personally hate the sight of the Galaxy, but I do recognize its importance to Star Trek. Why can't Cryptic?

At last, I bought this ship like 2 days after it launched (Gal X/Dred) and flew it for like 2 weeks.. loved its looks but dont drive tractor too well.. now the real hope is that you can assign BOffs soon so that load-outs actually work without having to re-seat every time then I will be able to fly this as well as my sequence of ships over the years that took her place for proper testing... In all this is a win!!!!
(thus answering the question: IS it shiny? Is it scrumptious? Will it make us money?)
Even though it's nice to see that you dev guys took some time to look at the Galaxy class, just slapping a hangar on the Galaxy-X is a very uncreative and disappointing move. While the ensign universal is nothing but a bad joke.
I would love to fly around in the (fleet) Galaxy-R, but even the awesome looks don't offset the horrible low dps and slow turnrate. Nothing you offer offsets it. The tank-bonus on the console set is pretty useless, since the ship tanks much better with those two slots used for actual tank consoles. And going 'offensive' (yeah.. right..) with the saucer separation requires other consoles than the antimatter spread to, kinda, work.
Please either align the ship design with the current game design (dps is all that matters), or create niches for niche ships, in other words, give a poor dps tank boat like the Galaxy the right to exist (outside of roleplay).
But even then, there are better, as in more flexible, tanks than the Galaxy-R, and the lack of non-global-cooldown-locked ensign engineering skills still cripples it due to that third eng station.
There is nothing that sets it apart.
To be honest, a 50k base hull on the Fleet Galaxy-R might make me consider using it. That's how bad it is.
So.. why not an engineering skills overhaul instead? Tac and Eng teams not sharing cooldowns perhaps? THAT would reboot the Galaxy-R more than what you've brought to the table.

I never liked what they did to the galaxy class in all good things. That third nacelle was the worst of the changes they made to it by far.
Give me the option to make the dread look like a standard galaxy class and I will gladly shell out some zen for it.
Considering that the third nacelle is the most prominent design feature of the Galaxy-X, I doubt it'd be removable at all.
