I'll tell you what. I'll quit complaining about the moghs built in cloak and the new fed ships crappy hull when the feds get some decant boff traits.

They are using game balance and power creep to try and force fed players to reroll. Its a poor form of population control.

Your argument with the dhc is weak as hell.

Obvious you don't play fed much.

I play Fed as my primary, thanks - never make assumptions, you look like an a**. It's NOT my argument, it's the devs' - that was pretty clear in the Mogh thread. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't valid - it's their game, they make the rules. You can vote with your money, coming after players for telling you how it is doesn't really help.

    Dyson Science Destroyer: Solanae Class

Weren't Solanae basically the aliens that performed biological experiments on various species? Aren't they... you know... bad guys? Servants of the Iconians? It's kind of weird to name a ship class after them.
I don't really think it was named after the race... at least not directly... race>sphere>ship.. meh.

How long does it take for the ship to enter/exit Tactical Mode?

Do Cmdr. boff abilities activated while on Science Mode transfer to Tactical Mode?

For example, if I activate Photonic Officer III (1min duration) and then enter Tactical Mode, is the ability still active?

Shape-wise it appears to resemble a slightly squashed D'Deridex. The neck, however, seems reminiscent of the Ar'Kif.

I love these ships so much I know what I will be doing in the Anniversary and it won't be chasing Q's. The set looks interesting but I can certainly do without the ships and with the missing 4 piece bonuses I will likely just skip the Store versions later as well. That said I do not doubt that these Deflectors which grant a bonus will be available through 'other means' later on.

The Bortas crossbred with a raptor and gave us the Peghqu.
Then the Bortas crossbred with a vorcha and we got the Mogh.
Now it looks like the Peghqu went after the obelisk carrier and gave us this hybrid...

And for those saying the KDF destroyer has all the best advantages, where does it say it gets battle cloak? Just a regular cloak it seems to me from what is said. Has its uses, but with a higher hull, lower shield mod and more cew its basically a special sci raptor.

    Thing is, I like raptors...

Couldn't this ship just have been a mission reward like last year's temporal ambassor? We just finished over a month of ship grinding. We don't need another. This is an awful change to the anniversary event.

So I should make sure to complete the event project on all my characters, hm ? That's 20 times 15.....

Why do I feel a little odd about this ? Having so many characters is desirable for Cryptic, I would have never bought all those c-store ships if I had only 1 or 2. Why am I being punished for supporting the game ? :o

Man! How did you do the Summer and Winter Events on all the characters? This'll be at least 120 minutes a day for you - including a minute to switch characters!

Well... there's no free ticket anymore. This time they are doing a "double-whammy"... Got you at grinding and the C-Store! Looks like our "thanks" for playing STO during the Anniversary event is over.

I'm sticking with my 5 characters: Fed: Eng,Sci and Tac; Klingon Tac; Rom Sci. Maybe a Fed Ferengi for procurement. Even then, I barely got time for more than just one character per day.

IDEA: Like the other reputation events, we should be able to sponsor our alts to reduce the grind for the Special Events are well! The mechanics in the game are there... Just a thought!

    ...Cryptic? Are you there?

I'd like to know about the testing:
Weapon Energy aside [people always adjust that back], was it consistently shown that the cannons outweigh the loss of sensor analysis? Deactivation of the secondary deflector was not expected, but the total disabling of the science half of the ship makes me wonder about how it actually handled itself under playing conditions.

Something we'd probably all love to hear a dev that spent days parsing with it tell us all about I'm sure!

Is it only the proc/drain-effect that deactivates, or does the secondary lose its stats entirely in tac mode?

See the Mogh anouncement thread for that, it went on, and on, and on.

Klingons get cloak for free as part of their base design, basically. They always have, so they can't really go back and balance things out now without causing a s**tstorm. The Romulans pay for their battle cloak and singularity powers with their -10 power per system. Feds don't get DHCs on their non-escorts, so any ship that has them gets a penalty vs the Klingons.

It is what it is. Bottom line, if you want the best ship, go make a Romulan - their ships are always class-for-class slightly better than the Feds.

    FIXED.

    10char

    Questions to devs!

Can we change the Bridge an go with say, the normal romulan interior?
    Are there other skins?
Are there ANY plans to make proton weapons and the consloes to boost them?

Brandon and other Cryptic devs, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work on these ships and the anniversary event/mission. I am excited to see the ships in action, and I'm excited to see the story of the mission.

I may be alone in this sentiment, but I appreciate all the hard work you guys do on STO. Keep up the good work.

You're not alone. I, too - along with most of the community - appreciate the hard work that's gone into these ships.

The issue that has everyone riled up is the hard work we, as players, have to do to get them.

I'll make all the assumptions I want. I'm in a pissed off TRIBBLE mood anyway. I finished leveling my rom and am looking at how much lobi I wasted on fed side.

I don't care whose argument it is its still weak.

When all 3 factions get something similar the fed version is the worst and I'm sick of it.

    That would indeed be great.

We'd still need to replay the FE several times to get all the deflector, engine, shield pieces AND then get the C-Store ships for the 'secondary deflector' remaining 3 pieces. But hey, I'd actually be fine with that because I'd get a ship for the Anniversary, unlike the current 'event', that only has the name 'Anniversary' on it.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

That was easy, I had no interest whatsoever in a glorified podracer or Breen ships..... so I didn't do it. With the way the Anniversary is handled, I'll probably simply ignore it until it's over and then check out Tuvok.

Why is the Federation ship so much worse than the others?

    Less Hull than Klingon.

Less Crew than Klingon AND Romulan

    No cloak

Only benefit is a measly .05 bonus shield rating.

    How is this fair? =/

You're not alone. The vocal majority of the forums doesn't mean the whole playerbase has entered tactical rage-mode too.

*DROOL* Please tell me you're going to be doing more of these combo ships. Like Engineering-Science or Tactical-Engineering. *DROOL*

On a side note, the whole split saucer section still reminds me of the drawing-board SCE Duffy ship, the split down to open the saucer into a temporary repair/manipulation dock. :-) Just saying.

I agree that it's unfair... but, having lived through early KDF, I can't help but see it as poetic justice of a sort. :P I literally laughed out loud when I saw the KDF ship's stats. Totally awesome.

"The factions are different and get different things?! THIS WILL NOT STAND! I DEMAND HOMOLOGATION OF ALL FACTIONS SO THAT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME! RAWR! LOUD NOISES!"

Count the number of top tier Fed science ships. Now count the number of Romulan and Klingon equivalents. The Rom and KDF ones should be better because they don't have any other decent ships.

These are some really great ships...but the Romulan ship has advantages stacked up on top of advantages. I was under the impression that secondary deflectors would be a Federation/Klingon Defense Force exclusive to make up for the fact that they lack Singularity abilities in the same way that Cruisers and Battle Cruisers have Advanced Communication Arrays. Right now, the new Romulan ship gets singularity abilities, +200 more crew, and Romulan Battle Cloak in exchange for 0.05 less shields over the Federation ship. I'm hoping the inclusion of the secondary deflector on the Romulan starship was a typo.

afaik that was never said. as this wasn't a factional thing at all. it was a science ship class thing. but sleep easy as the romulans aren't exactly flooded with science ships anyway. as I believe this will be the romulans 1st science ship.

cruiser abilities to make up for singularity abilities is kinda stupid point as well because it's like saying all warbirds are cruisers and they clearly aren't.

cruiser abilities and secondary deflectors for sci ships have been a way to even the playing field, not against romulans but against escorts!

    OK, my thoughts:

Kickass awesome ships. I really like their looks and abilities, and I appreciate the effort that you guys must've put into them. Thanks a bunch, devs!

Concerns: These three separate C-store bundles--will they be 5000 ZEN apiece? Because that's DEFINITELY going to cause some heads to explode with rage--mine included. It screws over free players (like myself, although admittedly I'm going to be going LTS sometime next year, when my finances are more stable) and seems an awful lot like a craven money hog.

Also, will the secondary deflector count for the set bonus in tac mode?
